Vogt’s Flowers

I like having a lot of light and a few plants around my apartment. Sometimes ya just need a few flowers to lighten up the place. In my opinion, flower arrangements are absurdly expensive, and I really have a hard time justifying the purchase of one.
For the last few years I’ve been coming to Vogt’s, and every few weeks I’ll buy a few seasonal stems (single flowers). If you’re just looking for something to brighten up a room, or a small way to brighten up someone’s day this is a great, inexpensive way to do it! Pricing depends upon the flower, but I usually get 2– 4 stems, and it cost me anywhere from $ 6 – 12 total.
The service has been better some days than others. Usually the person working will allow me to come back to the refrigerated area where the buckets are kept, and they let me pick which type of flower I want. Other times, they leave me to stand there awkwardly in the jungle of flowers until they come back with my requested flowers.

I’ve been a customer for many years now, probably a couple decades.
I figured keeping my business here might actually contribute a small amount to the economy the town I’m from.
So instead of taking advantage of bargains elsewhere, I order my flowers through this business.
What I like is the option to order online.
What I would wish for is a photo of exactly what I ordered prior to it’s delivery cuz there have been a few times the order I placed doesn’t resemble what I thought I was sending.
Customer service is generally efficient in notifying me of conflicts, order problems, delivery problems and whatever else. So in that department it seems things are alright.
Also like the cut off date calendar when trying to determine if it’s too late to send.
I do wish they would send me coupons or a list of sale deals once again prior to holidays. I get none of that stuff, and it’s been a few years.
Ordering online also has some small perks but in the last year is seems as if those are dwindling. A rewards program where if you spend so much you accrue points and the points can be applied to gifts. Well they seem to be switching it out to gift cards for THEIR store.
Uh, no thanks. My husband buys me flowers so I don’t need to reward myself with more flowers.
They also say on their website that they attach a card for the recipient in which they could win a dozen roses or something. I haven’t been able to verify if that really is getting attached.
AND they have a raffle in which you can enter to win a dozen roses. Unfortunately the winners all seem to live in Michigan. Strange how there’s no fine print on the form you use to enter.

Not the best florist in the area, although certainly one of the most high profile ones around.
To begin with, they charge way too much for the quality (and quantity) of what you are getting. I’m not impressed by Vogt’s at all. I know they’ve been in business for a considerable length of time, but it’s a little beyond me as to how. I don’t find their staff very helpful nor friendly.
If I’m buying flowers, I don’t expect attitude, but I do expect to receive the order that I placed in the exact way that I envisioned it, sans the rudeness factor. What I’ve ordered in the past is not exactly what I’ve wound up getting. Complaints were not listened to. They apparently fell on deaf ears. The arrangements were skimpy for the prices charged, in my opinion. And receiving wilted flowers is a cardinal sin in the floral industry, but that’s happened to me before.
Years ago, my sister used them for her wedding and the prices were extremely bloated for what the order entailed. I couldn’t believe it then and I still can’t believe they charge that much and more now. I’ve been in two weddings now (as a bridesmaid, including a recent wedding) where this particular Vogt’s was commissioned to do the floral arrangements and both times, the prices were out of this world. I don’t even know what the brides were paying for because it didn’t seem to show when it came down the cost breakdown. There are far more reasonable and quality floral shops out there.
