Went here this past weekend to grab a bite to eat and tea and loved it. When you first walk in the atmosphere is very homey and unique. It looked like a place I would love to go for a different type of atmosphere. My table got a salad and the grilled chicken panini and it was much better than expected. For a restaurant advertised as a tea spot, the food is very good and they also have a full bar. The service is also very excellent and our waitress was very friendly and happy to be there. We ended our meal with a pit of chai tea which was perfect. They have numerous tea option that in my opinion are priced very affordably. *the only reason I took away a star was because they only have whole milk and cream if you want milk with your tea

I love tea and I love cute places that offer Chai tea like this one. The only reason I took off one star was because I ordered an Asian chicken salad and they gave me balsamic vinaigrette. The menu said Asian dressing but they said they don’t have it. It’s not a big deal except for the fact that I wouldn’t have ordered it if I knew. The scones were delicious, the service was good otherwise and the atmosphere is very nice. My other friends each had salads, scones and a pot of tea and they enjoyed their meals. I’ve heard the breakfast is great so I will definitely go back to try that.

Well I ate here a few days ago… the place is cute… I almost forgot what I ate until I saw the image on my phone. The food just wasn’t memorable. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with reg fries. We also had some tea. The décor was pretty cute. Enjoyed the art on the walls. The tea was great. The food was BLAH. The hollandaise sauce was SOOOO thin. It either broke or they have no idea how to make one. On my eggs benedict they gave me a think slice of ham. You ever goto the deli and the guy gives you a taste of the ham you are about to order to make sure he has the thickness right. Well that’s what I got… like seriously… I’ll post up my sad eggs benedict photo. I added salt and and pepper to it… I would NOT come here for the food. Maybe some tea and the interesting art work =)

schooooooo cute, I need to go back. My friends and I came here for a well needed catch-up time. It was rather empty on the Saturday early evening– we three landed a large table intended for 6. Quite roomy. The décor is of course beautiful, but I think the best part was the clientele, ranging from a dad bringing his toddler in a tiara and ballerina tutu, to other long lost friends bonding over warm tea. The tea for one comes in a nice little tea pot, and can easily serve up 2 cups of tea. The ginger peach tea is more peachy than gingery. I had their french onion soup as well, which was not too shabby. Not very salty at all. The sweet potato fries were not exceptional but as expected. The challah french toast was delicious. For a place that seemed to have a touch o’ Irish soul, I was surprised there weren’t many more Irish dishes on the menu, namely, bread pudding. Loved the service, the ambience, and shall return. If only to see more heartwarming memories being made.

My favorite brunch place in my neighborhood. I have been there about 4 times. So far I am not so impressed by their food, but there are interesting menu choices, so I will keep going back. What I like about this place is their décor. Their antique tables and chairs are all different, yet they are making a good ambiance. Ladt Sunday, I sat at yhe table by the window. Our table was old sewing machine. Also, their cups and plates are all different, so I enjoy looking at them. I also like their tea selection. Perfect for a date!

Great little place! They have delicious choices for brunch. I had an omelette while my friends had eggs Benedict and a breakfast wrap. Everyone enjoyed the food. We also had a teapot of chocolate mint tea at the table!(Only one of the many tea choices) The ambience is really cute and cozy and the teapots and cups are all different styles and designs. Definitely a must to go here!

I found Swing the Teapot on Unilocal and was curious to see what all the hype was about. My first impression of this place was that it was adorable, unique, and very homey. Great place for a date or a business meeting as it had a quiet and calm environment that I appreciated a lot. The service was also the same, extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server made many excellent recommendations, and was super fun to talk to. The food was delicious. I got the Bocci wrap which tasted fresh and light, exactly what I wanted for an early lunch. My date got the corned beef hash and strawberry pancakes, and by the looks of his empty plate, I believe he enjoyed it a lot. I’m not a huge tea person, but he is and got the ginger peach tea that he said was«pretty good». I was boring and got iced coffee as per usual. Overall, this place served its purpose, we wanted a cute, lowkey spot to have brunch in on the middle of a Thursday afternoon. However, I wish there were more breakfast combos, like pancakes, eggs and homestyle fries. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this place!

Carolyn really made my first time experience wonderful. She is the epitome of great customer service. She easy very timely and I didn’t have to ask for refills. Gave awesome suggestions for next times visit and thoroughly went over what the dish entails. I am definitely returning as the food is hot and fresh and the customer service is spot on!

I am absolutely in love with this place!!! The first time I came here was July 7, 2015 during the week for lunch. My husband had mentioned it to me since I like to take my daughter to Alice’s Teacup in Manhattan. This is a much closer location to us so now I am ecstatic I don’t have to schlep to the city every time I would like some afternoon tea :). The block it is located on in Floral Park is very picturesque and quaint. We were able to park across the street from a church during the first visit and there is metered parking. Me and my family then walked down the block to the lovely Swing The Teapot. It was, moderately crowded when we arrived. During the visit, more customers, arrived and, the place got livelier. As I type this I crave the next time I will visit again. I would like to try their whole entire menu at this point. They also offer a small children’s menu within their menu. Upon entering you will notice that the place has very artsy décor. Such as mismatched vintage(but in good condition furniture). Nobody really greets you at the door so do not expect this. We just plopped ourselves on a wooden table with chairs in the front and cushioned seats on the other. There was a small pillow that my 9 year old liked on her side of the cushioned area. This is now her favorite spot in the right side corner of the restaurant closest to their adorable and tiny restroom. As soon as you are seated a very friendly hostess with a lovely Irish accent greets you, hands you their menu and reads you their specials of the day. You will also notice lots of different kinds of quirky teapots on their wall which are used to serve their vast selection of teas. Our favorite was the cat teapot, which I have included a picture of in this review, along with my silly husband posing behind it. Love their menu selections such as the Irish Breakfast! The food selection really brings out the Irish feel of this place. Me and my husband both ordered the delicious Irish Breakfast and we were not disappointed. I absolutely loved the taste and consistency of the black and white pudding. It was crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and tasted very savory. My daughter, enjoyed her English tea very much. She also had grilled cheese and french fries which looked delicious. The waitress, checked up on us on, both occasions, we were here. She asked if we need anything else such as more water or tea etcetera. I really do appreciate the great service they give in this establishment. Came back again on Thursday of this week and it was pretty amazing again. When we first walked in at around 6:30 p.m. The decent sized place was pretty empty with only one other couple dining in the front. We sat at the same place we dined at last time. My husband ordered, a Santa Fe Panini which is a Panini with grilled steak, avocado, tomato lime salsa and pepper Jack cheese. He seemed to enjoy it and I think it was a good deal for $ 12.50. My daughter got the, grilled cheese and french fries again. We also ordered a large pot of English tea for the table. Love that they serve the milk in a small pitcher, it makes for a very eventful tea experience. I ordered the salmon with a baked potato and a side of vegetables. I loved my poached salmon! It was a pretty decent size and I would love to honor the chef on it. It was so flavorful with tomatoes, artichoke hearts and, olives. It came with a side of vegetables which were brussels sprouts and carrots. The carrots were cooked perfectly and the brussels sprouts were on the crisp crunchy side. Also appreciate the fact, that all condiments are provided. It is an annoyance when you have to track down the waiter/waitress to ask for condiments at eateries. We left here full and happy. Next time if we leave a little more room we might be able to finally try one of their desserts! Is it time to go back yet! ;)

This is like going to brunch in your grandma’s house which is cluttered with paintings(one was crooked not sure if that was on purpose), oversized old furniture, mismatched chairs and a million teacups — but with a waitress and strangers! We started off awkwardly standing/waiting for a table while folks who came in after us were seated quickly. Since we had our son(he’s almost 2) sleeping in the stroller, and a hungry husband this made for a tense, inconvenient situation as he felt slighted and we kept having to move out of the way every single time… finally we were seated in a table towards the back. Service was slow but passable and the tea selection I made — the über popular ginger peach one was DELICIOUS! The food was also very tasty and the portion sizes were good for the price. We enjoyed our visit and would return.

Absolutely adorable! It’s a little restaurant right off of tulip avenue with a great atmosphere. It’s very quaint and and has a unique look to it. The buffalo chicken wrap was phenomenal(would highly recommend getting it) The staff is very friendly and upbeat. It’s the type of place that everyone knows everyone and you become family by time the time you leave.

I found Swing the Teapot on Unilocal and I am so glad I came here. I came on a Sunday at noon and the place was packed. There was about a 15 minute wait, and the restaurant has a small waiting area with a bench. It is decorated beautifully with old bricks and tiny teapots placed strategically on the wall, and it also has tons of teapots and teacups behind the bar. It was very encouraging to see the meals come out quickly and everybody eating with enthusiasm. We ordered the Irish breakfast and the apple pancakes. The pancakes were really fluffy and buttery. The Irish breakfast was heavy and good. I didn’t really like the sausage, but my friend did. They serve breakfast late on Sundays, which is good. Swing the Teapot also has a great lunch and dinner menu with burgers, steaks, and paninis. I had a delicious green tea with a fruity blend. I highly recommend it for those who like green tea. This place is a great restaurant to enjoy a cozy meal.

I judge restaurants on: 1. Food 2. Ambience 3. Service The food was incredible. My mother ordered the Irish Breakfast. It was full of variety and incredibly tasty. When you order eggs you get their famous Irish Soda Bread which is all you could ever want out of bread. Light, soft and fluffy its worth the hype. It comes white and whole grain. I ordered the blueberry pancakes(fresh blueberries!) and I swear the flavor just exploded in my mouth. So juicy and delicious! Dont forget the never-ending coffee pot! Yay! Im buzzing with energy now haha. Service was wonderful, kind and attentive. The place is decorated beautifully, stained glass lamps and impressionist paintings of New York. Ornate woodwork on the tables and colorful, clean cushions throughout. Perfect place for brunch!

It’s the luck of the Irish to dine here! Searching high and low for a nice place for high noon tea and brunch is difficult to find in Long Island and Queens. I stumbled upon STT in my Unilocal search findings. Quaint and right in the neighborhood I attended High School. Floral Park is a predominantly Irish-American neighborhood filled with cafes and small diners. Swing The Teapot is nestled on Verbena close to the intersections of Tulip Ave and Jericho Turnpike. As I entered, I was fascinated by the rustic vintage Celtic flair. The iron legged wooden tables, antique Tiffany Lamps, paintings, plush crushed velvet chairs and gorgeous tea kettles and fine china. We were greeted by friendly waitresses. My daughter has been asking me to have a tea party for the longest, so this was right up her street. I ordered a pot of ginger peach Tea for 2. It was served to us in a beautiful kettle with a peacock and butterflies. The tea was aromatic and had notes of ginger and subtle peach. Deliciously refreshing. My daughter wanted pancakes and since they’re served all day, we opted for the chocolate chip silver dollars. I wanted an Irish meal. I ordered the Potato leek Soup which was served with brown Irish soda bread. This bread is addicting! So soft and tasty. I also ordered a Reuben Panini. Hot thick slices of Corn beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and Gulden’s own spicy brown mustard. HEAVENLY! Thick cuts of corn beef and the combination of ingredients were spot on delicious! The service was fast on a saturday after 2. The waitresses were friendly and made conversation. Very knowledgeable about the menu. This is a phenomenal place for Brunch. A plethora of menu items with a cute, quaint and vintage ambiance. The prices are very much pocket friendly also. They have live performances here from time to time also.

Thanks to a few of my Long Island Unilocal peeps for putting me on to this lovely restaurant. Swing the Teapot is super cute and remeniscent of granny house. With red brick walls, colorful art along the walls, classy but mismatched tea sets and antique cushions this spot has lots of personality. We were greeted and told there was a 10 minute wait, no prob. Once seated we debated back and forth about which tea we would get. We settled on a pot for 2 of Ginger peach; The pot yielded about 4⁄5 cups per person, great! After the first sip my taste buds smiled; slight sweetness from the domineering peachy flavor, some cinnamon spice and very little to no ginger flavor at all. That was ok though, the flavors we did encounter were satisfying enough. I’m a big sucker for french toast but I went with the pancakes this time around; the flavor options they offered were very enticing. One order of pancakes with warm Irish stewed apples, and two orders of eggs(one with hashbrowns and bacon, the other with just hashbrowns). We received complimentary bread with our eggs so mom chose the Irish soda bread and I picked pumpernickel. That Irish soda bread is like crack son! It smelled absolutely appetizing, like fresh out of the oven. Really soft on the inside with crisp edges, it went perfect with our tea and the raisins added a nice sweetness. I filled up mostly on that bread, it was a heavenly experience. Pumpernickel on the other hand was nothing spectacular. Our eggs were cooked just right and the hashbrowns were seasoned delightfully(I swear they must use Lawrys, it tasted just like it and had that reddish paprika-ish tint too). The pancakes were a disappointment; they appeared to be fluffy but ended up being very heavy. I honestly believe they were just over mixed, but them apples. Woah buddy! My mouth is watering just thinking about them again. I’m not sure how long they were stewed or what spices they added to the stew but that joint is amazing! I legit ate all the apples and left the pancakes on the plate lol My mom is already planning to bring her friend here for a tea date lol Service was good, there was no rush and our server Helen was quick! This experience was a pleasurable one.

Based on all the reviews, my mom and I felt we had to try the Irish soda bread. When it didn’t come we asked Bout it and found you need to order eggs to get it. But the server Bernadette was very sweet and brought us some. It would have been nice if she told us what the different jams were, but oh well. Though mom and I never figured out which was which really. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and our Catalina salad and our southern hospitality wrap were too much for us. So we finished the wrap and fries, that had no salt on them, and took the salad home. I loved loved loved my spicy chai tea! It was so good, I drank a whole pot and could have had more. This is a place I would definitely come back too!

Enjoyed a nice lunch here with a friend last weekend. I had a grilled chicken wrap with red peppers and basil mayo, accompanied by piping hot French fries. As we lingered for a bit and chatted, we also ordered some tea. I had the Mango Beach, which was delightful. I will definitely be back to try the brunch. I wish this place hosted traditional afternoon tea!

Swing the Teapot easily gets 5 stars from me. My family and I wanted to try something new for breakfast and I found this adorable, quaint tea room/restaurant. I was impressed from the moment we walked in. Very homey vibe with different chairs/tables/pillows/cushions. The décor was suiting and you can tell a lot of thought goes into it. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was very pleasant, friendly, and talkative. Now lets discuss the food… The French onion soup was to die for. They broiled it so the mozzarella cheese was melted perfectly. I love French onion soup and this is definitely one of the best. Honestly, I’ll come back just for the for the soup… I also had the French toast(breakfast usual for me). They make it with challah from a nearby bakery and it was delicious. I tried a bite of my brother’s cajun burger as well and that was equally impressive. I’m always hesitant to try sweet potato fries because I’m usually disappointed but these were perfect! Just the right amount of crisp, not oily, not soggy either. Try dipping them in maple syrup — so delicious! My parents got the wild smoked salmon on brown bread and the vegetarian wrap. They cleaned their plates as well and everyone was happy with their meal. You can’t go to a place called«Swing the Teapot» and not try their tea. I had a pot of the ginger peach tea. Oh my god. So good and such a big pot! Overall, our entire experience here was great. This is definitely a place that I will go out of my way to return to again.
