Being born near Owensboro KY(MOONLITEBBQ), i would consider myself a BBQ snob. We moved to the coast a couple years ago with low expectations on the selection of quality BBQ joints on the West Coast, but we stumbled into Craigs and were blown away! We met up with friends and family and ended up having a party of 10. The staff sat us quickly and our waitress was amazing. All 10 of us loved taste of the food. I had the Big Boy Bryan and Tater sidewinders and both were amazing. The kids enjoyed the game area as well. My son ordered and demolished the 2lb Viking burger… and he said it was the best sandwich he has every had! We will be going back very soon!

Found this on Unilocal and thought we should stop on our drive through Florence. So glad we did! Food was delicious! Meat had a great taste without BBQ sauce, add the sauce of your choice and wow, so good. The sidewinders(beer battered hand cut curly fries) were fantastic! Nice big parking lot for us to park our truck and fifth wheel. Also purchased some chocolates to go from a local chocolate maker, they were yummy! All in all a great experience, definitely will go back if we are in the area.

I had Craigs BBQ a month or so ago. They had a cool atmosphere, okay food, and pretty normal service. I got the Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich, which compared to other Oregon BBQ places I’ve been to was definitely above par, but not to my liking.(I lived in southern Texas for 2 years, can’t beat that BBQ!) Overall, with the price and taste, it’s not bad at all; But with being used to better BBQ that I can make on my own if I please, I probably won’t come by again unless I got a craving.

The food here is EXCELLENT! They use only local naturally raised beef. Burgers are amazing. Pulled pork sand which is outstanding. Great smoke flavor. Service is outstanding as well. Personal note that’s important to some. Bathrooms are always very clean and orderly. Pinball game keeps the kids busy. Pool tables and Tvs fur entertainment as well.

When we saw and smelled the smoker on our way in we knew we were in for a good time. Casual service. Maybe a bit to casual. Once we got seated the fun started. The full rack of ribs I got was a bit dry — might not have been prepared on that day? — Still very delicious and really enjoyed it. The flavors were perfect, the meat was nice and lean and not to much sauce. Reminded me of Memphis barbeque I’ve had. Shared some with my friends and they loved it. Sauce was good and our salads were fresh and pleasant. Got the sweet, spicy and classic sauce — they were all great. My friends had the pulled pork, brisket and chicken — they loved it. The brisket was specially tender and moist. Nice sweet potato fries and very very tasty beans. Place was comfortable and clean and servers were friendly and helpful. Best BBQ on the Oregon coast.

We took a short day trip to the coast last weekend and in the way through Mapleton, I had noticed another bbq restaurant but as I called to heck hours, found out they were closed that day. So quickly Unilocaled bbq and found Craig’s! Husband had the sandwich with Everything on it($ 12ish?) and couldn’t stop raving. I had the brisket dinner($ 15) which was perfect. Leftovers eaten cold 2 days later were still tender and prefect! I also ordered the house made potato chips as my side and though most were not exactly crispy, they were so tasty! I like mine dipped in blue cheese dressing, which I did get charged extra for but that may be standard these days(I haven’t ordered a «side» of salad dressing in years). The building has 3 levels so you can sit«downstairs» or upstairs or on the bar level around the sides. If i could recommend one change it would be to add a little music to the place. It was VERY quiet, despite being probably 40−50% capacity.

As a native Texan, I know great BBQ, so I am always on the lookout for it in Oregon. Craigs Family BBQ was hit and miss. We arrived as a party of six at 7pm on a weeknight, and waited 30 – 45 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the waitress had my son’s order entirely wrong, and asked him to settle for the wrong food. He declined, which meant another 20 minute wait. He’s 5, so patience is not his strong point. I had the Viking«burger», which consists on 2POUNDS of meat including a couple of burger patties, brisket, pulled pork, and bacon. It was absolutely delicious, though I didn’t make it through more than a third of it. The brisket was exactly as it should be — moist, tender, and delicious. The pulled pork was very dry, which is a real shame. The burger patty and bacon were very good. For my side, I chose the onion rings. What I got was a very black and charred order of onion rings — every single onion ring was burned, not just a couple of them. I was pretty shocked that they felt it was acceptable to plate that, but I wasn’t about to send them back and wait for replacements. Another person in our group had the ribs, which were tender, and moist, but lacked flavor — it was obvious no seasoning was used — such a pity, ribs without a dry rub? I was tempted to head into the kitchen and teach them how to do it right! The check came, and to top off a night of mixed opinions, the waitress got checks mixed up, and charged someone elses order to our credit card! We brought it to her attention, and she fixed it. All in all, the food was mostly good, but again I have to question how any establishment finds it acceptable to plate completely charred/inedible onion rings. Maybe it was just an off-night, but I won’t risk a second trip. Still on the lookout for great BBQ in Oregon, though.

The meats were moist and flavorful. However, it took forever to get our food. Fries and onion rings were burnt(black). My son waited so long for his food only to have them make the wrong thing. So we waited again for his order, luckily he got fresh fries. I really enjoyed my pastrami burger! Highly recommend. It seems hit and miss with their menu.

I was raised on good ‘ol Memohis BBQ I’ve eaten my weight in eastern NCBBQ and have pigged out, so to speak, on some of them best St Louis BBQ I could get my hands in. The folks at Craig’s have some of the best pulled pork and brisket I’ve had in a long time. The flavor is spot on, the meat is lean, and it’s not drowning in sauce. I had The Viking which is a MONSTER two-pound«burgerwich». In a word. Outstanding. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean and the servers are friendly. What more could you ask for?

BBQ sounded good, so we thought we’d try this place out. It was pretty empty when we arrived. We were set up fairly quickly, and checked on periodically while deciding on our order. The food took what seemed like a reasonable amount of time to arrive. A few more tables filled up as we began to eat and the service fell off quite a bit. The water ran out and wasn’t refilled until we got our check. The food itself was pretty bland, the best part being the beans and Mac. We tried the pulled pork, brisket, and coleslaw as well. The meat was a tad dry and pretty flavorless, not the smoky goodness we were hoping for. Overall we were disappointed in the experience. The food was edible, but not great. The service was mediocre. The atmosphere was dark and dreary. If you’re hungry and nothing else sounds good, it’ll fill you up. We give it three stars.

Not too sweet, not too tart. Best BBQ on the Oregon coast and I know BBQ! I even took one container of sauce to go all the way back to California.

A friend and I stopped for lunch because he knows I love BBQ, I ordered the Smoked Sampler. This included Pulled Pork, Brisket, Spare Ribs and a Chicken Leg and Thigh. All the meat was as dry as a bone. It tasted old and was very tough. The spare ribs were the texture of beef jerky. The brisket tasted like roast beef and was very tough. The chicken was very dry and tasteless. If this was an example of what this BBQ restaurant can do they have failed.

What an awful experience. The sign above the bar says if you want a substitution, it will be an additional $ 5 charge and depends on Craigs mood!(Punctuation added by them, not me). Our waitress carried the same cranky attitude. We had to ask for water and silverware, both things should just be automatic. My son ordered a burger with homemade mac n cheese, my daughter the mashed potatoes and gravy, and my husband and I shared their sampler platter of barbecue(for $ 22 a plate). It was just awful. All of the food was tasteless, but the ribs were so tough they were hard to chew. We sent back the sampler plate and requested they take it off the bill. I was shocked to see they had seperated out the sides which were included, and charged us separately for them. My children ate their food because they were starving. We really should have left it all and went to a fast food restaurant. I bet it would have been better! This was such a disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Lesson learned that when on the coast, opt for fresh seafood, not bbq.

I don’t know what those people are talking about the food is amazing! Best bbq I have every had !! The portions are more then generous for the prices ! You can get a viking burger which is 2 lbs of meat and a side for 15 dollars ! The wait staff are so friendly they make you feel at home ! The mac and cheese is the best ! The meat alone is amazing everything is homemade just like mom makes it !

Our group of four all enjoyed our dinners tonight. The pulled pork sandwich was very lean and had a great spicy bbq sauce on it. There are many varieties to choose from for a hamburger. Two of our group had these and both gave the thumbs up! One of us ordered the chicken tenders which was extremely moist. However, the best side dish was the macaroni & cheese! Best any of us have ever had. Service was good too. We were not disappointed!
