Be careful with this business. We had a small fence to remove, and initially we didn’t get a call back. After calling several times, they called back and planned to do it for $ 350 sight unseen. We sent a check, and they said they would schedule it «soon.» Before they ever scheduled it we called to let them know that someone else had done it for free (a mason working on our property), and were issued a refund MINUS $ 125.00. That means we were charged over 30% for «administration,» even though they had never showed up nor had they even scheduled the job.
When I called to complain about it, they were unpleasant to say the least. I would have understood if someone had taken the time to come see the job or even if the job had been scheduled (I understand it’s hard to fill a hole in the schedule). But neither of those had occurred. No bueno.
Update: nearly two years later: Fitzgerald Fences sent me a nice note, apology, and a reasonable refund for part of the fee they withheld. The resulting fee we were charged seems much more reasonable. And the letter seemed sincere, ending with «Thank you for your honest feedback.» So thank you, Fitzgerald Fences, for acknowledging and making good.
