My husband and I camped with my 2 brothers their families and my daughter and new hubby. We had a Blast!!! I already want to go back next summer. The dunes down to the ocean is like living the dream!!!

Very close to highway 101. All kind of activities for all ages. Very relaxing. If you have kid(s), be sure to rent a sand board from a store near by. They will have a blast! You can also enjoy paddle boarding and kayaking here. We had a great time.

We have camped all over the state and this was the worst campground we’ve experienced. Might as well have camped on the highway, next to a bar and a children’s playground where screaming is the theme. There was also limited toilet paper, no hand towels and ½ the bathrooms closed. Leaving the masses to try and use these facilities all at once. There was no one patrolling to ensure the 10pm rule of quiet was upheld, so not many folks got sleep due to a few very rude campers. We will never be back. Sad because the grounds are amazing.

Jessie Honeyman is great just for the small lake nestled within the dunes. The hiker/biker site is only $ 5 and is set off by itself in a meadow in the woods — far away from the other car camping sites with picnic tables and firepits(no food lockers so guess that isn’t a problem?). At night we couldn’t hear anyone else or even see the streetlights from the campground. It made for very sound sleeping. Bathrooms were just a 5 – 10 minute walk through the woods. And the trail to the dunes were close by. There’s firewood for sale $ 5 next to the entrance. The bathrooms are older and dingy. Shower stalls inside the bathroom with very dim lighting. But at least the bathrooms were spacious. After dinner I went for a walk in the dunes and had the place to myself except for two fisherman and handful of preteens.

We read the reviews on Unilocal and decided to try Jessie Honeyman on our way down the coast. We were not disappointed. The campsites are private, although a little small. With a family of 4, 2 teenagers, we needed 2 tents and it just barely fit. We didn’t know what to expect, but the dunes were incredible. So much fun and an easy walk from camp. Finally, the thing our family loved best after rolling around in the sand… Clean, hot showers!

The Jessie M. Honeymoon State Park/Campground is one of our favorites! They have fire pits at every campsite, and plenty of walking trails. There is a(HUGE) playground for the kids, and also warm showers :). Many full RV hookups with power & water @ sites. The restrooms were flushing &VERY clean, including the showers. There are many sites, not a lot of yurts, with a wide variety of shade to sun ratio and location. It’s a BIG campground! We also saw some wildlife. .. a ridiculously persistent raccoon, a few large mice, & a GIANT spider INSIDE the yurt(Thank God my husband was there). One of the best parts of the campground is the close location of the Heceta Head Lighthouse just 15 miles North of Honeyman. Heceta also has hiking trails and a fantastic beach with picnic tables & grass :)

We came so the kids could try sand sledding. They had an absolute blast. The park where we were is beautiful. Turn in at the first Honeyman sign across the river south of Florence. Hang a left when you get in and you’ll be up against the dunes right on Clearwox lake. The lake, the dunes, the forest, everything is so gorgeous. This part of the dunes is non-motorized so you can enjoy it as a family. We arrived around 10AM and got a good hour of quiet fun in before people started showing up. Around noon when we left it was crawling with people — many teenage rejects trying to look cool on their boards. I noticed they had more difficulty than my kids did on the sleds. We were there in August and the weather was just right. Warm in the sun, cool in the shade, and an ocean breeze blowing by. 5 stars if not for the crowds. Get there early!

Amazing views of dunes, dunes, dunes right on the coast. Truly an odd, very cool sight.

Jessie Honeyman is located in the middle of the National Sand Dune Recreation Area and is surrounded by amazingly beautiful beaches and pristine sand dunes. Many people bring their ATV’s which disturbs quite a bit of the peach and quiet — but that is all part of camping in this century, I suppose. Its Oregon’s second largest state park — it is huge. It has: . 47 full hookup sites(sewer, electricity, water) . 121 electrical sites with water . 187 tent sites with water nearby . 10 yurts and 1 yurt meeting hall . and 6 group camp sites. We stayed in Group Camp #1 which was huge, clean, and fantastic. It probably had six large picnic tables and one large fire pit. There was probably room to set up 15 tents — we only set up four and had gobs of room. My only complaint about the Group Camp is that there are no showers. You have to drive(or walk ½ mile) to the showers. The showers are in fact clean and usable and have no fee attached — but it is a HUGE pain to drive your large group to showers.
