Absolute best food ever for people who have a gluten allergy! Unbelievably amazing choices, service and food! Prob one of the one and only time we could have General Tsos chicken. We don’t have a place like this that is Asian in Virginia and has so many options as this place does

I come here a lot for the sesame chicken and the chicken lettuce wraps. They have very good spicy mustard. The spring rolls are okay. The sushi rolls are pretty good, but the sashimi is awful. I have had the stir fry once and it was so salty I could not eat much of it. Service is very hit-or-miss, sometimes it’s awesome and sometimes terrible, it depends on who is working I guess. The hostess is usually pretty rude and definitely not welcoming, but I think that might just be her personality. The bartender at night is really nice and attentive, and he also has to wait tables. They should give him a raise.

Service is fast, food is mediocre at best. The spring rolls were dried out like they’ve been under a heat lamp for an hour or so. The sesame chicken had overtones of peanut butter, aka cross contamination from another dish– gross. The rice was dried out and a few pieces too crunchy to chew. It was mostly inedible, bringing it home, hope my teens can’t tell the difference. We were in and out in 20 minutes flat.

So first the food. Had the bourbon chicken and I genuinely thought it was terrible. I ate 3 bites and threw it away. I wasn’t sick and my sinuses were totally fine but the only flavor I could pick up was extreme sweetness. It was very overpowering and I couldn’t taste anything else; maybe there’s nothing else to taste in there. The scallions were for some reason completely inedible. You could chew and chew and the fibers didn’t break down at all, like sugarcane. The chicken was extremely overcooked but that could easily have been because I took my order to go. As I was sitting there waiting on my to go food though, I noticed a spelling error of the drink«fuzzy navel» on the chalk board. The super speedy guy that took my order had stepped out so I told the hostess that was with him. Her response«What do you expect? They’re Asians». I thought«What an interesting response». As I was walking to my car, the super speedy guy who looked like a manager was outside smoking so I told him the same. His answer was a simpler«It is? Ok» Their rice is the only reason this is a 2 star review. It was absolutely bang on and amazing. So to recap my meal was absolutely inedible but the oddly racist, hostess interchange gave a me a chuckle for the night. I kept thinking that at least she didn’t say«What do you fu#%^ng expect? They’re fu#%^ng Asians». That would have definitely been worse :)

terrible service. We waited extremely long for the waiter to bring us our check. He did not seem to care whatsoever about us as customers compared to his group of 8 people. I will not be back here.

Stopped on the way to Myrtle Beach. Pleasant staff. Not impressed with the food at all. Way over salted on everything, even the Tom ka Gai soup was un-eatable. Sorry, not a place I would go back to.

Good place for lunch. Was seated and greeted in timely manner. Order taken, then delivered in timely manner. I had the Wonton soup, served hot, but 2 little wontons, it was ok. At least it had the crunchy asian chips with it. I ordered from the stir fry menu, and it was fine. Chicken stir fry, with 6 different veggies, rice, teriyaki sauce was a little mild in flavor. Good enough for lunch, many other options on the menu. Service was acceptable.

This was my first experience at any Red Bowl ever… Where to begin? We came in at night, they were literally playing Kidz Bop… Decided to look over that. One person in my group ordered General Tso’s… It came out as sesame chicken. I told them to correct. They wiped the sesame seeds off and returned it. You could clearly see some of the sesame seeds remaining on it! No red color either, like Gen Tso’s usually looks like. Called them out on this, will give it to the waiter as he was very kind throughout the process. I told him to redo, but they said the cooks were gone and that they get off at 10… It was 9:52p… So they just left? I don’t know about you guys, but they cut corners and I’m curious to know if their Mgr or owner knows they operate like this? FYI — we came in a little before 9p, so they had ample time to do this. Seemed like they were just getting out of work back there. I won’t be returning to this location! Made most of us sick anyway!!! Step your game up, Red Bowl! :(I’m new to the area and live oriental food. Guess I’ll have to look over this one…):

Have eaten here 3 times now. The food is pretty good, but service can be a little slow. I recommend the bang bang shrimp, but would avoid the lettuce wraps(if you like PF Changs wraps you’ll be disappointed). The sushi is pretty boring.

Red Bowl, in Florence, is one of my regulars. I love Asian food and Red Bowl offers it all: Japanese, Cantonese, Thai, etc. The food is great. The only drawback to this place is the wait staff. They’re a little slow and inattentive; however, it is not stopped me from returning. Highly recommend, just remember to be patient! ;)

I like coming here when I travel to Florence, SC on business. It is not far off I-95 and its nice to avoid greasy food. They have bogo sushi which I enjoy. They also bring out three yummy sauces with your meal. I usually don’t want to dip sushi in sauces but all three do worth with the sushi. My waiter was very attentive and my food came out quickly. Overall, not bad for a chain.

Overall experience was decent. Food was great and our food came out very fast. Our service on the other hand was not only horrible but it was very unexpected. Me and my sister ordered the pan fried pot stickers as an app and the bento box to split for our meal. She ordered a kids meal for the little ones to split as well. The entrees came out very fast but we never got our pot stickers. Since I work in a restaurant as well I understand mistakes happen. We asked if the potstickers were still coming and the waitress assured us that they were otw and went to the kitchen(probably to ring in the app and let the kitchen know she needed them on the fly). After a while she came back to check on is without the potstickers. We then saw her hanging out at the hostess stand and we had to flag her down for our check. The check came and we were charged for the app we never got. We asked her to take them off the bill and she did 5 minutes later. On the way out my sister saw one of the servers that she knew and let him know what happened. The manager brought us the potstickers and apologized. Everything was great other than the server. She shouldn’t be waiting tables for a living.

We walked in and the place was nice pretty much what we expected. Service was slow. My potstickers came out with my husbands bento box dinner. When my dinner finally arrived you could tell it had been sitting out for a bit already. It was only slightly warm except in the middle where the A/C hadnt had a chance to get to it. It might have helped if our server wasnt also the hostess. The sushi rolls were mediocre at best. Not worth the $ 10 price tag. The hubby wasnt impressed with his bento box meal. And while my Lo Mein was pretty good and loaded with meat, getting lukewarm it really turned me off to eatting here again.

Traveling through town and was hoping to find some clean vegan chow. I could have called in my order but wanted to explain in person that I didn’t wanted a lot of oil, sauce or other crud on the coconut curry vegetables. I think they took that to mean I wanted extra grease. The veggies weren’t overlooked, which was nice but were saturated in oil. I got through the part of the meal because I was hungry but most of it was just too nasty. Lastly, the hostess was anything but welcoming. Possibly not the best fit for her, career wise.

We all have our«favorite» Chinese restaurants. And then when you go elsewhere, if the seasoning or ingredients are even slightly different… well — is it really bad or is it just«different». That is my issue here with the Cashew Chicken. I thought it way too spicy and just not good — but being fair, it was different than I am used to. So a 3.5 on that. The Won-Ton soup was odd too — a great broth, but ONE won-ton cut in half(sorry Red Bowl — 2 halves make 1, not 2!) and a few slices of green onion. Nothing else. And really odd — the broth burnt my tongue, but the won-ton was stone cold in the center. I can think of no positive reason that would occur — but certainly some unappetizing ones! A 2.0, at best. Service was adequate and friendly, I would return, but grudgingly. However, as it is a chain, I would try other locations, order something else, and hope for better. It would be great to have a consistent, national chain Asian restaurant — as exists for all other cuisines in the US!

Traveling through the area. Have a hard time picking places to go, saw this place and decided to stop. I asked for somewhere quiet to sit. The hostess took me to the bar. I wanted to try Thai, asked the bartender for a suggestion, he told me cashew chicken. I swore that was chinese, but either way, I got it with no mushrooms, white rice and an egg roll. Delicious! It came out fast and was tasty, egg roll wasn’t too greasy. What a deal! The bartender did have a small spat with a customer when I arrived and was afraid it was going to ruin my visit, but I think he was just having a bad day. I would say he needs to try to be more professional in those situations and be aware of how it affects the other customers.

I was in town for work and hoped to try the local Vietnamese joint. Unfortunately, it was closed for renovations with a new owner. I ended up at this place because it was close to the hotel. The bartender was decent, young, and good at handling his customers. There are a lot of folks in Florence for work, and some of them just want to get drunk on their expense accounts. He was good at selling and taking their money! And my drink was fine. They use premixed mixers, so nothing to write home about, but solid. I had a pineapple chicken dish that was listed in the specialty section. It was fine, maybe even good for Florence. The pineapple was of the canned variety and was not cooked with the dish, so it was fairly overpowering and the flavors didn’t meld together well. At the same time, there was a good amount of vegetables, which were cooked just right. As with a lot of food like this, my leftovers tasted better when I reheated for breakfast! The price was okay. They have a fairly captive audience with limited options, so about what I’d expect. It’s a solid alternative to the chains that are in close proximity.
