So clearly NO one here knows how to cut extensions. Human hair. Not clip-ins. I wouldn’t have even given them one star if possible. Whoever gave them their licenses should revoke it immediately. I have a feeling I was turned away for other reasons that shall remain nameless. Pathetic

I am by no means a fashionable guy; when it comes to my clothes and my appearance in general, I tend to go as cheap as I can. This goes double for haircuts, which I consider little more than a necessary evil. Usually I’ll just go to, I don’t know, Great Clips or something. For a long time, when I was keeping my hair especially short, I just cut it myself with clippers from Wal Mart. Or something. You get the picture. This year, however, I decided I wanted a change. I wanted to try growing my hair a little longer. But my hair is… complicated. So I came here, to Regis, because frankly, I don’t trust Great Clips with more than a standard trim. I didn’t just need a haircut – I needed advice. I needed some professional wisdom. I will say this to the guys considering this place: it’s conspicuously girly, all bright lights and mirrors, and all the walls are glass, which means everybody can see you getting the metrosexual treatment. If this bothers you, well, get over it. It’s the price you pay for a higher quality cut. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. The girl who cut my hair, Elle, was more than happy to give me exactly what I wanted, which was frank and honest opinions about the direction I should take the mop I had spent the last several months working on. In the end, we weed-whacked the damned thing down to about half the length I walked in with, significantly shorter than I planned. But I looked all the better for it. I trusted her to go with her gut, and it all worked out for the best. If you go, I recommend you lend them the same degree of trust. Otherwise, what’s the point? As you might expect, it’s significantly more expensive than a place like Great Clips. But the girls there actually smile when they talk to you, and, oh, they actually talk to you, which is more than I can say for most of the mopey ladies at the other places. Like most things that cost more, you get what you pay for. I’m normally a cheapskate because I simply don’t have the money to blow on frills, but this was a worthy exception. If you’re looking to do something significant and need some direction from someone with experience, or if you’d just rather have a more pleasant cut, I highly recommend this place.
