As a lounge, this place gets a 3. As a bar and grill, this place gets a 2. Sorry. Our waitress forgot about our drinks and took a long time getting them to us several times last Saturday, granted she was one of maybe 2 waitresses in the whole joint. I ordered the burger and I wish I had not. It was tough and flavorless, and super duper greasy. Every time I picked it up, it left a shiny grease film on my hands. This was my first time coming here, and I didn’t have my hopes up too high. I probably just won’t come back for food again.

Cuetopia has really lost it since it first opened. I visited Cuetopia for the umpteenth time on November 24th, 2015. I’ve always wanted to be a Unilocaler but never worked up the nerve to start an account, well the time has come. Cuetopia is located in the heart of North Saint Louis County, just down the way from both the Ferguson & the Florissant Wal-Mart. With the location & space alone, this place has potential to be a golden. Cuetopia has two floors of nothing. A small venue with a stage & three pool tables on the lower level & a intimate area which houses the bar & four pool tables, plus a majority of the seating & dining area, on the upper level, which also contains the front entrance. Intimate is a nice way to put it. This place crams people in the upper area like sardines. In a space that can probably fit about 6 tables of the same size comfortably included over 15 tables. To say we were elbow to elbow is an understatement but luck for us, we always come with a large group, making the cozy area not such a bad thing. On this particular evening, I noticed something was off, I hadn’t been to Cuetopia II since earlier in the year, when they had Karaōke by a raggedy DJ who used even more raggedy equipment. We came to Cuetopia II in celebration of my sister’s 30th birthday. This night was, what I was told to be, «two dollar/two for» tuesdays, in which rail drinks were 2 dollars, & premium drinks & beer were buy one get one free. This was nothing but a ploy to get you in the door because the bartenders had no idea what we were talking about & looked at us as if we were making this up on the spot. The drinks were good, however, the bartenders poured the liquor with precision, plenty of booze but still great taste. The staff was unorganized, it took forever to even find out where you can get a drink. After seeing multiple servers glide along the main floor without helping me, I realized that I had to go to the cramped bar to try & get service. After asking about the specials & receiving dumbfounded looks, I decided to simply get the beer(which was 2 for 1, at first, but the beer, budlight, was 6 dollars!?! later in the evening we were told the bus was simply $ 3 a piece) & a Sex on the Beach which was $ 6. I also ordered the wings ~$ 8& fries ~$ 6 which had excellent flavor. We had a group of over 15 women & about 4 men. Before I go further let me set up Cuetopia. This place has been immersed in scandal & confusion. With multiple stabbings, shootings, & an actual murder, I ask myself, why give this place another chance? After being closed numerous of times, it’s hard to see any consistency or hope with this location. Our group alone had to have spent close to a thousand dollars in that establishment. Throughout the entire night, there was one man who was dancing & rapping along to the blaring music as if he was the main star in a DMX music video. I find no fault in him, to be honest, it appeared as if the man had a mental disability. However the man was annoying & couldn’t grasp the understanding of personal space. Numerous times he gyrated near our private party. At one point he even grouped one of the ladies in our group. Someone in my group calmly told him to leave us alone & enjoy himself in his own area. To which he did, but not before shadow boxing & facing a corner as if he was training to be in the new Apollo movie. Not much later he returned with the same shaken beer in hand, still gyrating. Now we are in an area fairly close to the entrance where there was a «bouncer» & a «police» officer observing his actions. It was not long before he spilled his beer on a male member of our group. Now frustrated with the lack of response from the«security» team, we approached the owner, or the man who pretended to be the owner, & told him of the situation, to which he replied that the man was just«trying to have a good time». I informed him that everyone in this place was trying to have a good time, & a lady should not be hindered in her«good time» simply because some man is making them feel uncomfortable. I reminded him of how large our party was, & exactly how much money we have spent in that establishment only to be told«I don’t care». I reiterated the fact that there was over 20 people in our group that have spent at least $ 25 a piece & some spending over $ 100 in the course of the evening. In comparison to the group of five men(that included the gyrating dmx wanna be) that we’re sharing one bucket of beer the entire night. To which again he replied that he «didn’t care» & that the gyrating man was only«having a good time». Those were the last words I will ever hear inside of Cuetopia II. There is no need for a customer, when the owner believes that money has no matter. This place should be reserved for the scum & the convicts it manages to up, not ladies and men of class. Unless you want to be harassed by people«just having a good time». Maybe Cuetopia II should go into the daycare business.

So I want to just do my Review on the food, because Cuetopia has a lot to offer from entertainment, atmosphere, venue, they do it all. So there kitchen puts out some delicious food. I always order the chicken kebobs with fries, I always get the sweet n spicy sauce on the side. Love dipping my chicken in it. The fries are so delicious, nice and potatoey, lol. It takes a while to receive your food, so order in advance, if your doing to-go. So that’s my recommendation, definitely try this place out

Food is fantastic, music is great, service sucks. I have waited for an hour for a drink. It was disappointing.

Saturday, 1÷18÷2014, was my very first time going to Cuetopia. I heard it was a pretty laid back place, so I went into the experience feeling like I at least knew THATMUCH about the place. I was COMPLETELY wrong. I don’t know if Saturday nighs are when they cater to young people or what, because that’s EXACTLY what was going on. From the time we entered the place(around 9:30), to the time we exited(a little after midnight) rap music bumped the ENTIRE time. I think I developed a headache within the first 15 minutes I was there. Some DJs(the good ones, anyway) know to slow it down, speed back up, slow it down… but this particular DJ was RELENTLESS. I’m only 32 years old, and while I don’t make it a point to listen to rap, there are a couple songs I like out of a year that have a good vibe or whatever. But it’s like every song they played mentioned a** or t*ts or some other vulgarity. Even the DJ got on the Mic and commented on «all the a** and t*ts* on the floor. I was SO done. Not to mention all the young people — girls in barely there clothing, looking each other up and down, too drunk guys dancing all up behind random girls. It was disgusting, honestly. I can’t believe people actually are into THAT scene, it was CRAZY packed. One thing is for sure: I have a newfound appreciation for older bars. I may not know most of the old school music, but at least I could mellow out and enjoy it. If you want to listen to vulgar rap music blasting the whole time, then go to Cuetopia.

The prev. Review didn’t mention that Cuetopia also has room for parties, very good price on renting space and having finger food made at the Q. Pleasant staff and clean, doesn’t smell like most sports bars do. Management can handle any inquiries you made have. Also has security all evenings, too bad that this is the way of our world now, to have security to have a good time. All in all this is a good place to bring your date as well.

For a while Cuetopia was my favorite stop off place after work just to unwind and have a drink. It is much like any neighborhood bar, just 10 – 15 times bigger. They have plenty of pool tables and dart boards. The drinks are good and the food is a plus. The food offerings are typical bar foods, but very good tasting. Some nights they have a band which is just an extra added plus. Bottom line, it is a typical neighborhood sports bar. If you live close by you should definitely check it out.
