I went there today to sell some old clothes. This was not the first time I’ve sold clothes to this location and it probably won’t be the last. I got there today right at there opening time at 10:00a. I do recommend coming earlier in the day and on a weekday if possible because coming here on a weeknight or weekend is a madhouse meaning it takes twice as long for them to look through your clothes if your selling. As for selling clothes here… well. I sold 8 items today and received $ 23. I’m not disappointed in that– some of the things they took were old and I knew I wouldn’t get a crazy amount of cash. The man who was going through my bad was really nice– he was helpful because he told me exactly why the other things in my bag were not sold. I like coming to this location because its close to my house opposed to other places. I never have bought clothes from here– the clothes are mostly trendy and sometimes cute, but just expensive and not really what I’m looking for. Overall, Plato’s Closet isn’t really anything special. No matter how many clothes you bring I wouldn’t expect them to take more than ten items, and expect less than $ 30 in cash.

Biggest disappointment ever… I went here around Christmas time to sell a box full of my old clothes in hopes of getting some extra cash to buy gifts for the holidays. They bought less than half of the stuff I brought in with me, and only gave me $ 17 for the items they did buy. One of the items was a new pair of jeans(with the tag still on them) as well as a light weight peacoat and a pair of Madden Girl shoes. Can’t really remember what else. Sadly they probably made at least twice that after selling it. The other disappointing thing was I had to wait FOREVER and the sales associates were rude. I had considered buying something there(as a gift for someone) but I said f**k it. Their selection sucks too. Unless you are into hip hop clothes and all that bullsh*t, you’d be better off going somewhere else. Next time, I’m taking my clothes to Avalon Exchange in the loop…
