Let me preface that I have never had a good experience with a chiropractor. They have always made my pain worse and I made this very clear with Dr. Collins on my first visit that I was skeptical. Where else was I supposed to go, however, when I had a massage therapist tell me I had some ribs out of alignment and suggested getting an adjustment. Having sworn off 2 previous chiropractors, I saw on Unilocal that Dr. Collins had two raving reviews and he was close to my office so I made an appointment. He advised a treatment plan of 2 times/week, but after 2 – 3 visits I think my ribs were back where they needed to be. I was very hesitant to continue his advised treatment so he offered me a payment plan which was nice I suppose, if I actually needed to keep going or was that just a ploy to keep me coming back as a cash patient? I was not in any pain, but had some tense muscles. I think the out of pocket money I was spending would have been better spent on massages twice a week. After $ 400 and a month of his suggested treatment, I decided I was fine. About a week after I cancelled my last appointment, I received a voice mail from his receptionist who reminded me that I still owed $ 150 on the payment plan we arranged. She mentioned that she could send a bill if I could not stop by and pay in person. I wait a month to receive a bill and instead get a letter accusing me of being unappreciative of Dr. Collins generous payment plan and that I have ignored their attempts at trying to receive payment and if I don’t pay the balance they will have to take new measures. I got one voicemail, that’s it before they threaten a collection agency(I’m assuming). I think sending a bill before sending that letter or following up with another phone call would have been more professional and ended with a better result than me never returning as a patient or recommending Back to Health Chiropractic to anyone and writing this review. I think the staff needs to communicate better with patients to discuss the reasons and length of treatment and I think the person in charge of billing needs a lesson in professionalism and tone and needs to be shown how to create and send a bill via postal service.

I have several reasons for giving Dr. Collins 5 stars. 1) My insurance doesn’t cover chiropractic care & his office worked with me to make my visits affordable. 2) I was greeted at the door(this was a first for me). 3) Previous to my adjustment, Dr. Collins wanted to relax my tense muscles so he did a simple & quick massage. This not only helped his adjustment but did relax my very achy muscles to relax(this was also a first for me). 4) After my adjustment, Dr. Collins had my muscles in the affected area treated with his muscle retraction machine(I don’t remember what the actual name of this was). He said this was to make sure that my muscles didn’t contract & reverse any of the adjustment(this was a first for me as well), what a smart & efficient way to treat your patients. 5) While my other reasons of praise are important, I feel my last reason is the most important. I was suffering from very intense pain for a couple of days & after his adjustment, I immediately felt better & almost perfect the next day. It was amazing! So, as you can see, I was VERY pleased with my first visit & will indeed be returning. Also, a little bit if history about me: I get really bad migraines 2 – 3 times a month & my C2 vertebrae is arthritic.

I see Dr. Charles Collins for headaches and he makes my life so much easier. Everyone in the office is very friendly and accommodating. I look forward to my visits as I can feel the tension leave my body after Charles adjusts me. I have also seen him for an ear infection and taken my children in for ear infections. He is able to adjust the ear to help with drainage and while it’s uncomfortable for about 5 seconds while he does the adjustment, it is so worth it, and there is not always a need to pump ourselves or our children full of the antibiotics to treat them.
