Light color oil stains on Tommy Bahama shirt which I was told was food stain or something I can in contact with. I gave them the benefit of doubt. Few weeks later, 2nd Tommy Bahama shirt was new(I have a habit of washing all new shirts first) same oil stains different spots. This one I did not even wear. Either their equipment or procedure has issue. Why take a chance again when there are other cleaners around that do not have this issue.

We used GK since 2008 when we moved here, and over the last few months, the collars of my husband’s shirts had odd marks — stains, and scorch marks in little triangles. The person in charge at GK says it’s the oil on my husband’s skin that is staining the collar. Really? Not on the inside of the collar where skin touches the shirt but down the fronts of the collar tabs? Wouldn’t «oil» have to be streaming off of him? And this manager also claimed that these triangular scorch marks are because the collar stays were left in. Perhaps they should have taken them OUT. And the scorch marks are a different shape and a different area than where the collar stays go anyway. Manager was quite dismissive of me, and so we will NOT use them again, EVER… for two reasons. The damage to several hundred dollars worth of shirts, and the fact that they didn’t CARE that they were losing a customer.

I had been using GK’s cleaners pick and delivery service since 2003. I recently moved just outside of the service area, and didn’t know how good I had it! I had no idea how having a good dry cleaner was so important until… I DIDN’T HAVEONE. They picked up twice a week and delivered twice a week. My cloths looked great and smelled good, which you would think would be an easy thing. I have been through four cleaners in the last month. My cloths look ok and smell funny, or smell ok and I iron them anyway. In all the time I used GK’s I had«no» issues with my cloths. On the flip side I called the pickup and delivery guy, David, asking about a pair of pants I «thought» I had turned in and didn’t get back. He told me that he would look and double check the plant… and then he took the time and explained the barcode and computer system they had in place to literally track every piece of clothing that goes into the plant and could tell me the history of each article. If I have one pair of pants that I want heavy starch on, and no starch on others, the bar code tells them. Once it’s entered in the system, it’s tracked and recorded. If you need to know how many times a shirt has been to the cleaners he can tell you. I’m kind of a geek and a numbers guy so I thought this was really cool. I could literally see which type or brand of shirts last longer. No to mention while human error happens its near impossible for them to lose and item. Short story long, sure enough my son had the pants and Dave was totally cool about it even though I wasted his time and money, he wanted to make sure I was happy. In short… I can’t write a nice review about a new cleaners but I sure miss GK’s. I am going to start driving 10 miles one way just for MY dry cleaner. Marci has only written two reviews and they are both negative… just sayin’

I had two pairs of white capris come back gray yesterday. Cody, one of the employees who had every opportunity to save the situation by simply apologizing after he said the owner might be able to fix them, chose instead, after I asked for a credit for the clothes I was not going to take home with me, say that it didn’t matter if I got a credit or a refund because when I picked up the clothes at a later date I would still be charged. I said«really? You want to say this to me right now?» And he proceeded to stare me down. It was complete attitude. When GKs gets it right everything is fine… they never exhibit any recognition even after 7 years of frequent visits, but the few times I’ve had an issue there is never an apology and never thinking outside the box or going above and beyond to remedy a situation. For instance, I travel frequently. I count on my clothes being ready at 5:30 on the day promised. One day when one pair of pants was missing from my order, a baby in my back seat and a flight in the morning, I was told to come back later. I’m sorry. I couldn’t come back later. I’m upset. I need the pants that are missing. What would Nordstrom have done? Offered to deliver to my home when they were finished/found! Never on the radar for GKs. Every time I go in to pick up or drop off clothes, and I realize GKs has a lot of employees and customers… but often I am waited on by one of a handful of staff, and ALWAYS I am asked my last name and then ALWAYS I am asked my first name. I was a customer for 6 years of a dry cleaners before I moved to Flower Mound who would see my car pull up and have my clothes ready. It never failed to impress me. ps…Cody took my number last night and told me Darryl or Jill, the owners, would call me today regarding the capris… any surprise that they didn’t?

I have been using GK’s dry cleaning upwards of 5 years. I trust Darrell(owner) with my most delicate clothing and most traumatizing stains. Their other locations closed, but this one(the main one) is still open and they now have a delivery service to assist customers who don’t reach this part of town often. I still do, but if I ever move, I will be looking at the delivery service.
