Stay away from this company. It’s a bad deal all the way around. They are rude, dishonest, lazy… absolutely and completely unprofessional. The customer service if by chance you have any issues will blow your mind at how rude and unprofessional they are. It is not worth it. The groupon isn’t worth it because they basically bully you into signing a contract.
Read the other reviews. They are bullies! Read their responses… unbelievable. Zero warmth. Cold, hard bullies. Furthermore there is a cult like element around Dr. Cooper — it’s obvious in their replies so if you aren’t looking to be a Cooper Bot… probably not the place for you. STAY AWAY!

If there were a negative star it would be selected for this joke of a so called workout! The trainer at this location is a joke too. I purchased a $ 29.99 package for a 6 week boot camp from Groupon and was shocked to find out after having to listen to 30 minutes of his song and dance sales pitch about what makes them different from other gyms, I was rushed through a mouse maze of 10 rooms with a voice recording screaming «go go go «!! after a few minutes on each machine. Each tiny room has one piece of equipment in it and barely enough room to move around in. It’s like a funhouse ! The worst part was Pat the trainer lied to me about some gimmick 100 workout plan, redeemed my Groupon, charged me tax, $ 20 additional dollars and unbeknown to me had forged a fake contract! Pat also never did one thing to train me that first and second so called training session that was included in the boot camp package I purchased on Groupon! Instead, I was escorted through the mouse maze by an older man who showed me how to set the settings on the equipment! Really?!! I was less than impressed and over this ridiculous place after 3 times. After 3 weeks passed, I discovered what he had done regarding a fraudulent contract, and I personally went to the gym to confront him but he was NEVER there and when I called he would answer and lie about his name and what location I was calling. Clearly avoiding me! I HAVE FILED A FRAUD CLAIM AND TURNED THIS GROUP INTO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!
Consumer BEWARE! Save your time and money and actually get results by joining a real gym ! This place is a JOKE and aSCAM with crooks running it!

First off I haven’t been to this gym in like two years (I moved to Houston in 2013… sadly they don’t have any closed circuit gyms here only the large gyms)
But I did buy the Groupon back in 2012 and I did sign a contract with them… I was sad when I had to break the contract b/​c I was moving to Houston for work…
Needless to say all of the one stars are from people who clearly either
1. Are lazy and don’t like to workout
2.Want to blame a business for using a «marketing tool”(i.e. Groupon and living social) WTF. Every business use these sites… and EVERY GYM be little or big has pushy sales people to sign memberships (this is how they stay in business) it’s apart of their job descriptions just like at Macy’s, JC Penney etc. to get people to do credit cards etc. its called business…
Anyways …my experience at Private Workout, I would go in the evenings after work in Lewisville… umm I believe the guy name is Brent or Brett in the front big guy (muscle wise), friendly, funny and just a cool guy… their techniques are different (i.e. Closed circuit, gym timer, the sheet to make sure you meeting goals and to increase the next time). I loved this and I wish I knew the name of that app for the timer so at my big gym now (24 hour fitness I could play it on my headphones) someone commented this is not how you should workout BUT it is when you are trying to build lean muscle WHICH burns fat not cardio… You can do cardio I personally do 30minutes then I hit weights… while at PW I loss fat and gained muscle so I have no complaints.
I made sure I worked out five days a week and ate right and had a lot of protein to build muscle after the workout (which they sell… the coconut is awesome)
But to all these cheap mothereffers if you don’t want to be at a gym to see results then go to a park but these people are professionals and have degrees in kinesiology science etc.
I recommend PW and can’t wait til I get the capital up to get one in Houston! *thats franchise for you non business folks* smh.

Pre-​designed workouts to get you in and out in 25 minutes. You don’t have to wait for a machine like most gyms and the order of which machine alternates muscle groups to target the whole body in one workout. Each machine has a private room so all you have to do is focus on your form while working out. Pretty nice concept for a busy person who can’t spend hours at a gym.

! recently purchased a Groupon for the 6-​week boot camp. Trying to schedule to the initial appointment was a disaster and not very user friendly which is besides the point.
I went in for my appointment today. I walked in, the woman behind the desk was on her cellphone talking away when I entered. Didn’t really try to rush to get off the phone to greet me or apologize for being on the phone as any human being, that is trying to run a business, would do. Mind you I AM THE ONLY PERSON THERE. She never once introduced herself, just simply asked my name and if I bought a Groupon and if she could see it. Okay, next see vaguely asks me if i’ve read the website… yes, i told her. I assume she would go into further detail and tell me a little more about your program, negative. Next, she told me we would go back and weigh and get my body fat. Okay, nothing strange or unusual about that. I step on the scale and she tells me, «OHHHHH, don’t worry, no one will ever see.» Haha okay, thanks! I would like to lose weight and get in shape, hence why I purchased it in the first place. The lady then asks me if i take any medication or supplements. i told her yes and then proceeds to tell me do not take my medication that I am prescribed to and why would I do such a thing! I apologize, I did not purchase this Groupon to be judged. If that were the case, I would of never bought the thing in the first place and waste my time. I was personally offended by this lady. I told her, I didn’t appreciate her judgement and that I would not be doing this program and left.
You shouldn’t be judged for anything yet alone for being proactive and wanting to get into shape.

Stay away! Only do the GROUPON… do not sign the contract.

The most important thing you need to know about this place is that they repeatedly tell people that they have a 99.7% customer satisfaction rating to combat any bad reviews, but I have seen NOTHING to support that. They have ONE star on Unilocal,are not registered with the BBB, they like to say they have an A rating but it’s an A– with several registered complaints. The reason they even have a score that high is because they «respond» to their complaints which gives them more points from the BBB.
With that said, here is my story. I feel led to write this review for three reasons: 1. Their deceptive marketing tactics on Groupon, Living Social, and their website 2. The way they have trained their sales people to be overly aggressive and pushy, not taking THREE NOs for an answer and 3. The blatant attempt to bully me into silence over my experience with them via email which I will detail below.
I purchased a Groupon for a «Six-​Week Gut Buster Boot Camp» because I was looking for a place my boyfriend and I could work out together in our new town. I went in to check the place out while he was away on business and was disappointed to find that this was in no way a «Boot Camp». The business model is not a bad one they just use deceptive advertising online to bring people in. There are a series of connected rooms, each containing one piece of weight lifting equipment. The premise is that this is a solution for people who are embarrassed to work out in public. While I applaud a business trying to address that segment of the market, why not be honest about what you’re selling instead of trying to trick people to come in? Anyways, I did the first workout with a «personal trainer» and once I finished he threw the hard sell at me. I repeatedly told him that I did not want to make a decision without my boyfriend there. He kept pressuring me and even suggested that I call him that minute because I could not wait even 24 hours to sign. He also told me «wow, I’ve never had anyone say no before» after my first NO. My boyfriend was on a plane literally at that moment so there was no way to contact him – which is honestly irrelevant because after I said no THREE TIMES that should have been enough. Anyways, this «personal trainer» who was about three times my size continued to pressure me so I caved and signed the contract. This was my mistake and not the focus of the review. I wholly admit to being an idiot for signing that contract, no matter the extreme pressure I was put under.
I reached out to Private Fitness with my experience thinking that they would realize their sales person made a mistake in his approach. That is when I found out it was not a mistake, they are purposely trained that way. I requested a cancellation of my membership and for them to not charge my card the $ 199 fee in my contract. They asked in their form what a reasonable solution was, and I felt this WAS a reasonable solution as I had already paid the monthly fee for the three workouts I did with them (after signing the contract like a SUCKER I felt that I should at least try to get my money’s worth). At this point they already had $ 75 from me for three workouts.
The response I received from them not only declined to work with me at all in this situation, but actually THREATENED ME. The format of this email and the reviews that I’ve seen online of this business (if only I had checked that before buying the Groupon!!!) show me that they have a lot of experience in intimidation tactics. They must have thought that they could scare me into silence, but they can’t and they won’t. Below is a direct excerpt of the email I received in response to my letter to them:
«We have noted your threat to write a bad review on the internet if we did not give in to your request. We take a threat like this very seriously since it is called blackmail and it is a crime, so should you go through with your threat, we will use your written threat and subsequent publishing of reviews as proof to give to the Plano Texas district attorney for criminal prosecution. In addition, we take our reputation very seriously, we have a 99.7% customer satisfaction rating and and „A“ rating with the Better Business Bureau. we will require you to prove any derogatory claims made in court. You are asking us for a favor, then threatening us if we don’t come through… this is unfair, unethical, and illegal.»
For the record, I did NOT threaten to write a bad review, and THIS review could have read VERY differently if I had, in fact, had a positive experience with them. I told them that I would write A REVIEW, as fair and unbiased in nature as I could. I would like to reiterate that I am writing this review not because I hate their concept or their business. I take issue with their advertising, their sales tactics, and the scare tactics of their management to silence anyone who has had a bad experience with them. I will also be submitting this to the BBB.

I have worked out and ran most of my adult life. I was looking for something different when I bought this groupon. Do NOT pressured into this like I did with this groupon. They make you sign an agreement that if you don’t complete 100 workouts you have to pay 199. After 13 workouts I gained 4 ½ lbs and 2 percent body fat I knew this workout would not work. I should have known as ¹¹⁄₂ minutes per machine does nothing for you really. I had to pay the fee as I needed to get back to a real workout and not waste my time. I have since dropped the extra weight. This gym is a real joke. BEWARE.

Horrible place. I have been meaning to write a review since I bought a Groupon a while back. $ 20 for 6 weeks, no fine print. I went in for my first session, didn’t sign any paperwork, just went straight throught the workout with the guy behind the counter. It’s a serious of rooms with weight machines, you have to complete each room as fast as you can before the voice over the intercom tells you to MOVE MOVE MOVE. Anyone who knows the first thing about weight lifting, or even weight loss, knows this is not how you are supposed to work out. Anyway, I was telling the guy that it had been a while since my last work out, and that I was beginning to feel dizzy. He continues to yell GO GO, DON’T STOP, YOU’LL BE FINE. I take it he’s an expert, and this is probably normal for gearing back up. I threw up the second I left, and nearly fainted in my car. I relayed all of this to my current trainer and he was appalled.
I decided that since I purchased the Groupon, I’d go ahead an finish. I went in the next day, and was told I wasn’t in the system and they had no record of me. An hour and a half later (filing paperwork while the glorified receptionist chatted on the phone or with customers), she asked if I would be paying cash or credit. I informed her I had a Groupon. She then told me that it was for $ 20 off a yearly membership… nothing about that mentioned in the Groupon, and according to Groupon that is why they had many unhappy customers. After she charged me tax for using the Groupon (???) I told her nevermind and left. What a complete waste of time, with incompetent juice heads. The best part was them trying to hawk their protein water, and telling me how much I needed it. This retail space could be better utilized

I am a gym rat, and I have to say that every workout may work differently for others. I have friends who rave about this place, but then I have friends who dislike the concept like I do.
As previous reviews say, you are doing circuit training here. It’s timed and you go thru maybe 12 rooms with a different workout machine. Which by the way, the weight machines are the least effective from all the articles I have read so I can’t believe they only have that as a form of workout. They do have maybe 3 cardio machines, a treadmill, stairclimber, and elliptical. They say to do that for 10 mins each cardio machine. I did this for a month when I first started working out and I did not lose any weight.
The most negative thing is that they get you to sign contracts. When I signed up they had me sign up to attain a goal… it was a ridiculous low amount to where my body fat needs to be. When I first started i obviously did not know anything about this stuff, I just trusted they were telling me the truth. They had me get to this goal before the end of the year or they would charge their membership fee. I had to end up paying it so I could get out of the contract. Wow what a waste of money and time.

Great workout for men and women both. I didn’t know what if was about until I went in but this is a circuit of weights that you do in private and never a wait.

Bought a Groupon for Private Workout in Flower Mound for 12 personal training sessions. Terrible.
I should have stuck with Golds Gym, you go thru 8 – 10 rooms and do machine weights while they count and get you thru as fast as possible. Totally lame. I would agree with the last post. very abrasive is a good word.
don’t sign up for the monthly session unless you want to do the same machine weights for the rest of your life. no thanks.
