Dear Bop’s, In my book you’re definitely more soft serve ice cream than frozen custard, but ya’ don’t see me complaining… I loved it! Not to go all«nerdy» on you but, both ice cream and frozen custard are made with milk, cream, and sugar. The additional ingredient that gives frozen custard it’s creamy texture is pasturized egg yolk. Now about that yolk: Legally, custard only has to contain 1.4 percent egg yolk by weight, but some brands have more. Clearly I’m used to more I guess, as Bop’s reminded me of a thicker(Dairy Queen-esque) soft serve! Since I love soft serve, I loved Bop’s! We ordered the butter pecan concrete and it was yummy! The girls working the counter were extra friendly and helpful in breaking down the ins and outs of the menu options for us as first timers! Overall we were please and will make a return visit!

We really enjoy Bops. The service is always great. We especially like the chocolate concretes and the milkshakes, but to be honest, it’s all good.

I absolutely love this place. Although it has been the bane of my physical fitness for many years now I cannot seem to stop coming here for their frozen custard. I almost always get the snappy turtle when I come here. It’s a fantastic mix of frozen custard chocolate sauce and caramel sauce and nuts. The Katie’s crunch is amazing as well. They also have a strawberry cheesecake custard that is really good. Lately though I come here, more often than not, to get the tamales. I don’t know where they get them from or if they make them themselves but they are hands down the best in the area. I’ve heard that they get them from Fat Mamas, maybe. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve never had the snowcones but people I work with get them often and say that they’re pretty fantastic. The customer service is always really solid and the prices are extremely reasonable. The one complaint I have is that when they first opened, over in the old location, they had hotdogs. They were sooo good. Then they stopped making them. I’ve looked everywhere in the local area and haven’t found a suitable replacement. Not even close. BRINGBACKTHEHOTDOGS!!!(try the tamales)

It’s a silly name, but the Mocha Chocha Ya-Ya is awesome!

I’m note a weekly customer. I usually go to Bops once every other month. From my experience the service has always been fast, friendly and the custard treats have been what I’ve expected, delicious. I can’t complain and I will remain a customer.

I use to love Bops… Everytime I drove into town I would make my way to one of their locations to pick up one or two concretes for my visit home in Jackson. Now I feel as though I can do without them. They’ve become a bit inconsistent at the locations we do visit, and this one in Flowood especially. One time the concretes have been soupy and this last visit, too sweet and odd tasting. Service was good our last visit, but I was confused on the presentation of my concretes… I ordered a regular with snickers and another regular with brownie and nuts… Why oh why were there brownie pieces on top of the snickers one and snickers on top of the brownie one… I was so confused while eating them, I couldn’t tell you up from down. I’m not nitpicking… just preferred they not get the toppings mixed up. It wounds me to give my once favorite frozen custard in Jackson two stars, but it just didn’t taste the same anymore. My family says the Bops on Countyline Rd is better, so perhaps the next time I’m in town I’ll stop there. And hopefully a memorable treat will taste like it use to.

Great menu and great custard at a reasonable price. Im not a fan of the outdoor eating only, but I’d eat here again.

I am so glad I found Bop’s while I was in Jackson for work. I have missed frozen custard so much! They have tons of flavors to mix with the custard to make it even more amazing. They also have frozen yogurt and sno-cones. I tried the birthday cake and Bop’s Favorite which is custard mixed with strawberries and dark chocolate pieces. Bop’s favorite was amazing! I wish I ordered that the first time. Birthday cake didn’t really taste like cake as I have had at other custard places. It mainly just had lots of sprinkles. But it is frozen custard so it was still delicious. To top everything off, they have a drive thru in case you need your frozen custard FAST!
