Sometimes this store is great, and sometimes it isn’t. It’s pretty much ALWAYS crowded, and there never seem to be enough cashiers. The customer service is very hit or miss. I’ve had times when employees have been ONPOINT, super friendly, and all-around helpful. Other times… not so much. A few months back, they really dropped the ball in the fabric department with a special order I made. I was told my material would arrive the following Thursday, yet they did not call me to say whether it had come in or not. I stopped by the store on Saturday to check on my order, and they couldn’t find any documentation on it, when I saw them fill it out INFRONTOFME the previous week. Even worse, the material they claimed to be the one in stock from my order was WAY off my fabric swatch. I get that sometimes fabric dye lots are different, but the whole experience was not handled well. I ended up having a friend send me the material I needed from her store in Atlanta. As for products, I do like their patterned fabrics here, as they keep up with the trends and the prices are reasonable. I also sometimes pick up crafting supplies and paints since there are better selections and sales than the items at other stores. I really want to enjoy shopping here more, as I like the items I come here for, but my past experiences combined with their store policies leave me with negative impressions.

My primary crafting interests are in glass mosaics and knitting. I was not happy with the glass mosaic supplies — they had mostly kits suitable for children. This store did not have many choices for glass at all. For my other interest, knitting, I prefer organic cottons or other natural materials. There were none of those in stock either, but they had a lot of acrylic skeins. I prefer to support businesses that are not involved in their employee’s personal lives. Hobby Lobby is trying to make private decisions for its employees by controlling what birth control is offered by company insurance. I prefer to support businesses that offer high quality insurance, pay their employees well, limit imports from China and sell environmentally safe products. Hobby Lobby does not meet my standards.

I will not shop here again so long as they descriminate against their women and poke their nose in where it doesn’t belong — i.e. the choice a woman makes over the birth control method she chooses.

I refuse to spend my money at businesses like this, businesses who will take anyone’s money and then use it to discriminate against a segment of the population, i.e., women and their reproductive rights.
