I loved the food for the price. The staff and atmosphere were great. Convenient to Lakeland drive.

We came for the cheesy grits — and we were NOT disappointed. Fluffy, delicious, creamy perfection. Yum.

This is hands down one of my favorite places in the Greater Jackson area. Everyone is so friendly and they have an entire counter dedicated to dessert. Cake, chocolate whoppers(it’s like a cookie), and the lemon squares, oh how I love the lemon squares. 3 food items on a deserted island? Primos lemon squares are on that list. I can’t really say much about the menu as I always get the Club sandwich. The ingredients are all pretty ordinary but somehow this is a better club sandwich then I think you’ll get anywhere else. Maybe it’s the mayo or the cheese combo. It is a traditional ¼ cut, toothpicked, triple decker, with the crunchiest bacon y’all ever did eat. I’m told the catfish plate is pretty fine too. I get to eat here so infrequently I’ll stick with what I know. And the deserts. The lemon squares. The fries are good fresh but don’t really make it very far in the to go box. Get the chips for carry out. PS Lemmoon Sqwars!!!

Dropped in for a late Saturday breakfast. Be warned. Primos looks like a diner but it’s not. You order at the counter then seat yourself. Had my hopes up for a typical diner menu but found the choices limited. I got the special breakfast quesadilla for a change of pace. It was served quick and hot. Tasted good. Staff pleasant and smiling but you miss something without a waitress. No milk for your coffee or water if you want. I hope their dinner menu is a bit larger.

Had an incredibly pleasant lunch here today. Plate lunch was awesome, came out very fast, and service was prompt and very friendly even though they were slammed during the lunch rush. Atmosphere just seemed like everyone was having a good time. Will be back!

Came in mid afternoon. Not many patrons, right off they mess up our blue plate order, no biggie, they forgot one of our sides. I ordered fried chicken strips and was given grilled, they happily replaced for fried even though I had to eat later than my party. I like primos, and try to eat here anytime we pass by. I am originally from this area but transplanted to the Delta so it’s always a treat to visit Primos.

A quick bite on a way to a meeting. The order was a TIGERWRAP, fresh chicken in a tortilla sleeping bag stuffed with chicken, onions & cheese, some of the tastiest that I’ve ever eaten. The desert selection looked absolutely delectable. Staffed with friendly folks this place is a must stop.

Whenever I have doctors’ appointments out Lakeland Drive, I treat myself to either breakfast or lunch at Primos. Besides the fabulous food, the whole Primos experience brings back dear memories of my grandmother taking me to the old Primos on State Street ions ago. If you’re the mood for good, olé Southern fare that is as reliable as the Mississippi River emptying into the Gulf, this is the go-to place. I only wish they still served Trout Almondine like«back in the day.»

As I was about to hit the road for the driving back to New Orleans, I realized I was pretty hungry, and didn’t want to just eat fast food again. I called up a friend from this area, and she directed me to Primo’s. When I walked in what I found was better than I could have imagined. A decent sized menu full of Southern classics, prepared quickly and served to me at a counter/bar with a house made sweet tea. I imagine there was a time when places like this were more prevalent, but nowadays, finding something like this seemed like a special treat. I had chicken pot pie with mac’n’cheese and okra I believe and was in an out in 20 minutes. I definitely recommend a stop here if you are in the area!

On any given Saturday morning you will find me at Primos. This has been my Saturday breakfast/lunch place for years. A comfortable environment and tasty food. If you like grits you will not find any better than theirs. In the old days when they were on State Street we use to do Friday dinner there quite often. Have a drink and listen to live music. Kid friendly and on Saturday mornings you will see people dressed in everything from workout clothes to dress clothes. Come one Come all.

Great home cooking and desserts. Chicken and dumplings were delicious, Mac and cheese was heavenly and the petit fours melt in your mouth! Love!

Fried chicken perfection achieved! The blue specials here are consistent and usually delicious! The service is great, although having to order at a counter and juggle your own drinks seems to be difficult for some of their customers. Wine would be a welcome addition. End your meal with two of the always fresh and tasty fudge squares!

Crab cake salad was tasty, but the cakes were a bit cold and the wait was long. Gumbo was good. Service was friendly.

Guys, my food was so delicious! I was dining with my mom so I couldnt say it was almost as good as her home cooking. :) Everyone was so nice and very timely during the lunch rush. The team was friendly and happy to help. Wonderful experience! I will be back.

I wish I dined here more often. Nearly everything I have eaten has been great. Their breakfast is great! I love the biscuits and gravy(almost a meal as a side item). The portion size is big, but large enough to finish well fed. Lunch and dinner items are good too. They also have blue plate special daily. The sandwiches are good(try the Lone Eagle or Po Boys) and I’ve got a thing for those curly fries. Drinks are good, but they sell Pepsi products(for Southern folks, this might be a turn off). Desserts are outstanding. Key Lime Pie is tart and tasty and they proudly display the various cakes for sampling. Your belly should go away happy after dining here. PS — try the potato salad… it is good stuff.

Mmm-mmm home cooked goodness, and everyone in Flowood seems to know about it. In fact, the biggest problem with this location is that its TOO busy. When we went at lunch time we waited almost 15 minutes for a table, they are smart about it though and the waitresses take a number assigned to your order and stake out a table for you and you can’t actually order food, or pay, until they have a table for you. They also fight off those trying to steal tables while they are still in line which is handy! I got the special of the day which was a lemon baked chicken, collard greens and mashed potatoes. The chicken was PHENOMENAL, absolutely delicious and my friend at the table was jealous of my order because her catfish was only so-so. The mashed potatoes were pretty tasty, but I was kind of disappointed in the greens. They had no flavor, and I’m used to greens cooked in ham or at least a flavorful jus from a meat. They were meh. Their bread pudding is a more dry bread pudding, not moist, but its very good. When I was there it had actually recently won a local award for best dessert! The italian cream cake my friend got was also pretty good and had a nice, rich cream cheese icing. They would easily be five stars if their sides were more awesome, but they are an EASY four stars and I am definitely a fan.

Walking through the doors, I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. It’s veryspacious, bright, and CLEAN! I was next impressed with how friendly and helpful the girl at the counter was. She greeted us with a big smile and when I told her it was our first visit she was happy to go over menu options with us and even offer up some of her favorite choices. I went with the blue plate special which was a choice of meat, two veggies, bread, and drink. Not a bad deal for $ 8.50(with a drink? Nice!!). I had the chicken and dumplings which were pretty good, but not so special as to make me really want to order them again. For my sides i had the cheesy potatoes and butter peas. The potatoes were too cheesy for me so i passed them over to the hubby and he found them quite tasty. The butter peas were actually small butter beans which were good, but a butter bean is just a butter bean. Hubby had the lone eagle sandwich consisting of turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, tomato, lettuce, and mayo on a sub roll which he enjoyed. He opted for the potato salad instead of the fries which he didn’t care for. Our meal was filling but average. They have a bakery in the back and a good selections of 3-layer cakes, cookies, etc. The desserts are on display and they all look yummy. We shared a piece of red velvet cake and it was so moist. Hubby and I almost fought over the last bite! They serve breakfast all day. They have free wifi. They have Pepsi products(always a plus for me)! They are not open on Sundays. There are other items on the menu I would like to try in the future like the turkey and dressing they offer on Thursdays. There are definitely other desserts I would like to try.
