Cuisine: 9 Service: 5 Décor: 4 Value: 10 Overall: 9 My best friend and I decided to test out three of Unilocal’s most highly rated and popular pizzerias around the Flushing area — Amore Pizzeria, Lucia Pizza, and Brother’s Pizzeria. We have been to all of them before numerous times, but never on the same day, let alone the same meal. The goal is to find our definitive favorite pizza joint for this neighborhood. To be fair, we got one regular slice from each pizza maker during busy lunch time, and consume them within 15 minutes of each other. Here are our findings. For me, everything that makes up a great slice is important, however nothing is more crucial than getting the crust right. On this day, Brother’s Pizzeria slightly edges out Amore by a hair if I had to pick, though both were fantastic. They were super thin, just the right amount of crispiness, and a deliciousness that’s hard to describe. On the other hand, Lucia was a distant third place since its crust had a thicker and doughier texture, along with a bland taste. Crust: Brother’s = 9, Amore = 9, Lucia = 6 As for the sauce, Amore had plenty, Lucia was second, and Brother’s had the least. Yet, you can over sauce a slice and make it too wet as well. So the flavor of each sauce played a large role in determining this victor. Due to it’s super zesty sauce, the clear winner for this battle was Amore Sauce: Amore = 9, Lucia = 8, Brother’s = 7 Lucia had the most cheese, a bit more than Brother’s. Though Amore had the least amount of cheese, it was more gooey and had way less oil compared to the other two restaurants. For this category, we both gave it to Amore Pizzeria by a little bit even though we would have preferred a tad more cheese. Cheese: Amore = 9, Lucia = 8, Brother’s = 7 In the end, a perfect slice of pizza is the chemistry of all three parts working in synergy to produce that unforgettable bite. It’s hard to represent the quality of pizza with a number and it could be different on any given day. However in our case, it did match the order we would rank the three pizzerias. Lucia came in third because of that slightly better than average crust. Brother’s need to improve on their sauce and cut down on the oiliness. I have had somewhat average pizza at Amore before. Yet on this day, they were the decisive champion with a nearly perfect slice that will be in our memories for quite a while. Overall: Amore = 27/30, Brother’s = 23/30, Lucia = 22⁄30

Definitely a nice slice if you enjoy thin, crispy pizza! Not the best pizza in Queens, but it is definitely good.

Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. No one else compares. Their slices have the perfect thin crust with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Forget delivery. It’s best when you have it right when it comes out of the oven. The hot cheese just drips and burns the roof of your mouth. It’s worth the pain. Trust me. I no longer live in the area but I make it a point to stop by whenever I am. Tip: they only make deliveries after 4pm. They say 45 mins but it always takes longer than that.

I’ve only had their pizza a chicken parm hero and both are very good. Their hero is huge at a decent price. As for their pizza, i always get a plain slice. They are constantly making fresh pies. Their slices are thin and crispy. It is very good.

All my New York’s friends still could not believe that I have yet to have a «real» New York Styled Pizza with my frequent visit to the area. So during my last time in town, having a style of pizza at a traditional pizzeria seemed to be a must. Amore Pizzeria in Flushing. This might not be the best pizzeria for the«best» New York Styled Pizza but my slice was really good. Perfect thin crusted with ooey gooey cheese and dripping in olive oil. So fresh and hot from the oven! While I was chowing down my slice, my friend started laughing at me as I ate like a tourist?!! As I supposed to fold the slice in half before eating… So it is the mineral in the water? So it is the high gluten flour that used to make the crust? I guess I need more pizza slices before I can have a verdict.

Best cheese slice in Flushing(and queens?) next to Lucia’s. Slices are $ 2.75(recently upped) and the only con is that sometimes the pizza comes out super hot and I burn the roof of my mouth. Not their fault! But it is totally worth the burns. Just take your time and enjoy your slice instead of shoving the whole slice in your face like me and you’ll be fine :)

Pizza is my favorite food and NY has one of the best slices in the country(lucky me)! Amore’s pizza is my favorite in Queens ! Thin crust, delicious sauce, and melted cheese cooked to perfection makes me drop by any time I’m in the area. The only comparable pizza in Queens is Lucias on Main Street, Flushing but Amore has a better sauce so I prefer their pizza more. Slices are $ 2.75 each and pies are $ 17.00. Extra toppings on slices are $.75. I’m sure if this place was located in the city, it would have a ton of celebrity visits and photos on the walls. Their pizza is THAT good. I loveeee Amore pizza!

Looking for a quick pizza break? This is the place. Pizza fresh and pretty tasty. In and out; no worries if you are on a time limit lunch break. If not on a lunch break enjoy a cold beer with your slice

Loved every slice of it. Classic New York styled pizza, and they are HUGE! I was pleasantly surprised because the delivery only took 40 min.

Perfect slice of NY pizza heaven served here. Queens is the king for authentic NYC pizza and Amore pizza is one of the best along with Ginos of bayside and Brothers of fresh meadows. No nonsense quick and efficient service at this busy stopover just before the whitestone bridge. Perfect crust, generous gooey melted layers of cheese and plentiful toppings make their pizza a must try!

I’ve been coming to Amore Pizzeria my whole life. My mom has known the owners a majority of her life too from Gloria Pizza on Main Street in Flushing. They have the BEST regular pizza I’ve honestly ever had. I really won’t eat plain pizza anywhere else. Everyone that works at Amore is friendly and welcoming whenever we come. I also happen to love their heros as well! There’s something about the sauce at Amore that’s sweet and totally unique!

I’ve been coming to this pizzeria for years. Best pizzeria around. The regular slices here are ridiculously good. It’s a small little spot in the shopping center but they’re always busy which means slices are always fresh. If you’re looking for the best regular slice around queens this is the spot.

This fine establishment is probably my favorite pizzarias in all of Queens. Located in a small shopping center with a few fast food chains, a supermarket, and a few other stores, Amores doesn’t have much to worry about when it comes to competition. Thin crust pizza with their amazing homemade sauce and super chewy and stretchy mozzarella cheese. That’s all I ask for when it comes to pizza. Pricing is pretty fair compared to some. $ 2.50 per slice and .75 for toppings. Not too bad. I’ve honestly never had anything other than their pizza. Their heroes and pasta dishes look very good. I’m looking forward to trying them soon. They people there are all very nice and efficient. Theirs always a pizza pie in the oven. The only downside would be their isn’t much seating and it can get kind of cramped especially during the lunch rush. But if you’re just going in and out for a slice or 2 you won’t have to be in there for more than 10 mins. Definitely recommended if you’re a NYC pizza lover

I think i’m supposed to write a long review but there’s not much to say. Hands down best pizza in Queens… Very cheesy and delicious. It might beat Lucias!

Oh so delicious I’m still thinking about it now! I got the pepperoni slice and mushroom slice. It took a while to come out but when it did, it was piping hot and filled with bunch of cheese and tomato goodness. The crust is so thin it could barely hold up all the cheese and the tomato sauce they put on top. The flavor was amazing. It was so dense and like a flavor explosion in your mouth. A bit greasy for sure but greasy in a good way, I would savor every little drop of the grease. Yea, it’s that good. The mushroom slice was good too but I found found the flavor got washed away a bit maybe due to the mushrooms. But still good nonetheless. Don’t be expecting a fancy place. This is your local pizzeria. And I’ll be back very shortly: D

Pizza is awesome! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the Pizza tastes great when you eat in but if you take it to go it’s just not as great. I love cold pizza(no lie) but Amore pizza doesn’t taste as good if it’s not hot out the oven. One slice is never enough. I can easily have 3 slices and debate on wether I should be a fat A$$ and eat another.

I was briefly in town and wanted a Good slice of Real New York pizza. You know Queens is known to have great tasting pizza but although, the pizza here was not bad… I was pretty disappointed in it NOT being better. The service-not amazing but not bad. The pizza-cheesy and nice big size slices but they lack sauce and the crust is really flimsy. The prices-decent. Location-kinda tricky if you don’t live around here but it’s tucked away in a cozy strip mall. **Note: If you are visiting NYC with a date and you forgot to grab a slice of pizza before heading back home then this joint is not a bad spot to stop at on your way to the airport. So, check it… I got a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni, one slice was not fully cooked and I had to ask them to put it back in the oven. The other slice was okay but needed a better balance of cheese and sauce ratio. Ya’ll gotta step it up!-Queens, please stand up!
