Brach’s Meat is a real supermarket not a superette most common to this area. Those not(strictly) Kosher will want to still enjoy the authentic items on offer. Examples: Enjoyed Fried Chicken special with one large side of Barley salad, got Israeli toothpaste, Egg Drop Soup mix, pull-apart Challah with sesame top, can of tcholent, Mendelsohn’s Pizza, large container of herring. You’re sure to find something new and different. Appetizing and fish sections have excellent, fresh selection. Consider them for catering. Easily could be fit for a Melech(King).

So Passover shopping continues with Brach’s. Why go there? Well, my friends find the prices for meats, which are kosher for the holiday, to be very expensive in Manhattan, so we trip out to Kew Gardens Hills. This meat market has so many great choices and for kosher meats, it’s quite reasonable. I picked up some lamb chops for dinner, which are my favorite. They always come out very tender and juicy. They had great looking corned beef brisket and the turkey breast roast looked fab. Also, the cornish hens were especially good looking. Besides the variety of meat, you’ll find a regular grocery set up with just about everything you need for kosher/passover. During this time, they carry great baked goods(such as from Schicks) and import quite a number of Israeli items. Overall, I really like Brach’s for the high quality of their meat, but just one caveat — be careful prior to Passover, as the place does become a bit nuts, so make sure to get your shopping done early. Good eating!
