Food got a lot worse since it opened. Service is horrible. Didn’t even ask if we needed anything else before putting down the check right after clearing our table. We wanted another order of CB chicken wing cause it was better than my spaghetti that I couldn’t even finish since it was so watery and it NEVERCAME! Smh!!! Also, Cutting board has a huge dessert menu, but they don’t even ask if we wanted dessert either! Smh… x2

Food is ok — service is not. Felt non-existent sitting there. Gave the Flushing location a second shot. There will not be a third. 2nd star is with reluctance, but only for the food, and it wasn’t over the top.

I’ve been here a couple of times. They have Asian style American food. The sea urchin pasta was pretty good, not mind blowing but had an interesting texture and taste. Their baked rice/pasta dishes are decent too.

This place isn’t bad but it’s nothing to write home about. I see this more as a Chinese persons idea of a western restaurant. Like if your Asian mother in law tried to make pork chop, pasta or chicken to appease her daughters white husband.(I mean this in the most non-offensive way possible.) I ordered the baked porkchop, it came as a casserole over rice with a tomato based sauce. It wasn’t bad, it was filling and was less than $ 10. There was also the sliced beef soup which was marinated slices of beef with thick noodles. That was ok as well and very Asian. Overall this restaurant is catered for Chinese people that want western food but don’t want to deal with Round Eyes or speaking English. It would be a great fit if this were Taipei or Shanghai but in Queens you might as well go to an actual diner if you want pasta.

So my friends and I went into cutting board to enjoy a meal. The menu looked very intriguing and delicious, something I never seen before. We sat down and not even 5 min the waitress came to get our orders. That is fine until I said we needed one more minute bc it is a new menu we are not usually exposed to this so we needed a few extra minutes. Not only that but there wasn’t anyone there except us. After saying give us one more minute the waitress gave us the most annoyed face ever. And then she rolled her eyes. I was done at that point. We left the restaurant. I was hoping to have an enjoyable experience but it was ruined. :(

I’m quite surprised at the average rating of the Cutting Board(a 3 as of 3÷12÷16) because my family and I had a great ‘ol time during our visit. The food is consistently good across the board, their prices were quite fair, and the décor is quite modern too, perfectly fitting for a younger crowd. Below is a quick sampling of the stuff we ordered: Sea Urchin Spaghetti, A(Get. This.) Chicken Nugget, B+ Avocado Salad, B Lobster Rolls, B Beef Soup, B Fish Fillet w Cream Corn Sauce, B+ Their chicken nuggets were very crispy, a tad heavy on the batter, but nonetheless, still delicious. The dressing on the avocado salad was delish, but they really skimp you on the avocados. I personally would’ve liked to see more frisee. Lobster rolls are quite mediocre, nothing special other than the $ 9 price tag(which is AMAZING if you simply want a lobster roll in NYC). Beef soup was very clean tasting. My daughter was very fond of this soup. I liked the fish filet over baked rice a lot. Very flavorful. And as already mentioned above, the uni spaghetti is a must order. For feeding a family of 7, our bill only came out to $ 75, which sounds pretty amazing to me considering the type of food we had. Note that their menu is very seafood-focused. Which means that you’ll definitely want to check your allergies if you and shellfish don’t get along.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ A friend and I came here on a really cold day and upon entering, there was only two other tables that were occupied. I knew what I wanted to get based on other reviews and pictures. I got the chicken creamy rice and my friend got the shrimp creamy rice. I honestly didn’t think that I would get so much food but there was A LOT and I got quite a bit of large piece of chicken as well. Despite what some reviews said, I actually really enjoyed my chicken dish. The chicken was soft and chewy and had a nice smokey flavor to it. The rice was creamy and good also, but I enjoyed the chicken much more. I couldn’t finish it all since there was a lot of rice. My friend that got the shrimp creamy rice finished her entire plate so I’m guessing she enjoyed her dish as well. The reason why I deducted 2 stars was because of the service. Our waitress poured our tea and some spilled on the table and she left without cleaning it up. She did it a second time again and the same thing happened. When she refilled our glasses for the third time, that was when she realized that the table was full of spilled tea and she cleaned it up. I would’ve expected her to clean it up right away after the first time it happened or to apologize but we got none of that. It was a bit disappointing to say the least but whatever, I probably won’t come back here much often anyways.

We come here a few times a month. A few of my favorite things are Spaghetti — I AM serious. This is better than from some of the best Italian restaurants I have visited. Grilled chicken — if you like juicy dark meat, order this. Iced Hong Kong milk tea Free wifi, clean, nice décor My only feedback is the cart of dirty plates in the dining room.

The dishes are pretty much the same as the Chinatown branch. The restaurant itself is decently spaced out so you wont feel crowded when walking in. The staff is friendly and understandable. There is a good selection of HK style food. I highly recommend the CB Mussels, Shake Shake fries, Fried Calamari, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Salad, and Pancetta and Cream Pasta. The CB mussels are okay. For an HK fusion place in flushing, they are just mediocre. The food is decently priced for the style of food. Service is fast and friendly.

Great selection of drinks and comfort dishes! There are times when I just want lobster bisque but I also want omelet rice. This place has a lot of great appetizers and all the portions are big so it’s a nice place to share. Even so, this place isnt what I’d call delicious. Surprisingly their uni pasta is yummy. I was very delighted to find that it didn’t taste ‘fishy’ at all. But for their linguine with pancetta; like a mouthful of onions and grease. My seafood with baked spaghetti came out burnt. Not exactly a surprise but still a pain to eat picking out all the charred pieces of shellfish. All the rice dishes are buttery and it melts in your mouth but to eat just that, gets sickening very quickly. Also, how come the katsu doesn’t come with any sauce if you order a side of it??? Maybe it’s me, but I am only used to eating katsu with sauce.

So I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about this place and a lot of people said the Uni pasta is great there and«it’s a must try dish.» But I had it, I tried it, and I didn’t like it. I love Uni and pasta but that combination is very fishy and off putting. The sauce reminds me of a penne alla vodka sauce. This is totally my opinion that I just don’t like this combination of a luscious delicate sea urchin cooked in a creamy pasta. But that’s what fusion is all about. My friend had a baked pork chop and that pork chop was delicious! Nice and soft pork meat with a slightly crispy outside texture, which they probably fried the pork and then baked it. The rest of the little sides dishes were tasty too. The gyoza and tako wasabi. The drinks were slightly over sweet, I had the iced hk style milk tea. Overall the service was good and quick.

My fave place post workout for grilled chicken salad w yuzu sauce plus cb mussels. Also love their green tea molten chocolate cake. On cheat days I like their creamy rice, omelette rice. They have a lot of foods to offer so definitely hit or miss on items, but the above are my gotos in Flushing and I’m not really sure where else it’s offered.

I ordered the pork katsu after reading many Unilocal reviews on it. It definitely was crispy and golden, the pasta portion was decent and tasty. I think you have to be open minded and think of their style as their own. The serving sizes are generous and waiters very attentive to our needs, whether it was adding an extra table or refilling our waters. I mainly came here because we were going to Snowdays next door and this was convenient. The menu is very extensive and I’d return to try something else.

I think 3 is just about right, I didn’t love anything nor did I really hate anything. The food is Asian fusion and it is fairly priced. The décor is cute and the restaurant is nice and open, the spacing between the tables was very generous but the food felt like what mom would have whipped up with leftovers. The food: Fatty beef creamy rice– pepper, onion, cream, tomato sauce. It looks like a hot mess, borderline prison food but the flavors were OK. The rice was really creamy and every bite tasted the same so it was a little boring. It would be best to describe it as an Asian risotto, if you will. Linguine with clams– Sake, garlic, parsley, miso butter. I wasn’t crazy about this dish, the clams were just OK, they didn’t offer a lot of flavor, the noodles didn’t have a lot of texture but the thing that bugged me the most was the broth. The broth was super bland, I felt like I was eating water with salt. HK style tea w. milk– I love mason jars and I thought the tea was good, a tad sweet but I still liked the HK style tea.

My boyfriend and I have revisited the Cutting Board in Chinatown a few months back and sadly we didn’t enjoy our experience and especially the quality of the food at that location. The food was really tasteless and because of this we vowed to not return. I know that there was a Cutting Board in Flushing and was a little curious to try this location out and had hoped maybe the food here would win me back, but it didn’t. This location is a lot bigger and roomier compared to the one in Chinatown and I like it. The décor is simple yet uniquely designed and cute. The menu is pretty much the same as the one in Chinatown and the pricing is just about the same too. We ordered the following — CB Mussels(sake, cream, saffron, and bread stick) — I’ve been craving for mussels lately and decided to give the CB mussels a shot. The CB mussels felt cold and didn’t have much taste to it and I was really hoping to taste the saffron, but no. Unfortunately, there were two mussels I bit into that had sand too, so just beautiful! Brisket with Spaghetti and vegetables — I was really excited about this because it sounded really amazing and I love brisket! The dish looked amazing when it arrived and smelled like brisket heaven, but far from it. I am very picky with my brisket. It can’t be tough, chewy, or dry otherwise I won’t like it and I sure didn’t like the brisket. It was tough and chewy. It felt as though it would take me forever just to eat and digest one piece. The sauce had close to zero flavor or seasoning in it. What a total bummer! Pasta Primavera with market veggies, mushrooms, and cheese — My boyfriend decided to try something new and something different from what he would typically order at Cutting Board. His dish looked absolutely divine! However, it didn’t taste divine. This was completely full-on cream, like literally you wouldn’t even need to eat the pasta or veggies and just be full on cream. I had one scoop of it and knew that this was a no-go. It’s unpleasant to see that the food wasn’t any better at this Cutting Board. I don’t understand why the chefs or staff don’t taste and cook as they go. It would make them better chefs and a better restaurant if they could only taste what they are putting out on the tables and realize their food needs improvement!

Just another random restaurant in flushing that won’t be on the top of my list. They have cute décor but other than that the food itself isn’t that good. There are so many other options in flushing I’d be surprised if I have to come back here anytime soon. I ordered pasta in clam sauce, grilled chicken and tiramisu pot dessert with my friend. The dessert was really cute. The food presentation was good but taste wise, they’re just meh… I’d pick this place to hang out with my friends, but don’t come with high hopes that your food will be great.

Not a bad place. Uni pasta was the main draw to come here. Heavy in garlic, which is what I like. However, as I’ve experienced uni pastas across NY, nobody does it better than All’londa. Baked chicken with tomato sauce was okay. Nothing special. The best part was the fact desserts were 50% off. Molten lava cake was good. The sago with coconut juice was very refreshing. Very big menu, but nothing stands out enough for me to crave a repeat visit.

I ordered the grilled chicken creamy rice and a cold HK style tea with milk. And shared their sweet potato waffle fries with friends. The HK style tea with milk was ok, it had a very strong black tea taste. Fay Da makes it better imo. But it came in a very cute mason jar with a curly straw:) The grilled chicken creamy rice was pretty big, I didn’t even put a dent in it! I ended up taking most of it to go. The rice is mixed with chopped zucchini, squash, red and green bell peppers, and purple onion. The grains are smothered in some kind of orange cream sauce that I really love. I think the grilled chicken is a thigh piece because it’s so tender and has a great grilled taste. The sweet potato waffle fries were so delicious!!! Perfectly crispy and hot. It comes with a side of ketchup, but I don’t think it needed any. Everything was delicious, I can’t wait to go back!!!

Friday night, freezing cold out, the 10 of us were on our way to Nan Xiang for some soup dumpling when we passed by the Cutting Board. One of our friend sudden said the Uni pasta is legit there and since it’s so cold out and we don’t want to walk the extra 30 steps to Nan Xiang, so Cutting Board it is!(yea, we are easily persuaded!) This is my second time at the Cutting Board, the first time was when they first opened, glad to say their food is still pretty good. Cutting Board is a bit like French/Chinese/Japanese fusion, serving a lot of good classic Hong Kong style food with a twist. Parking: As we all know, Flushing parking is horrible, especially on weekends. Cutting Board is right across the street from the small municipal parking lot in Flushing(across from Sheraton Hotel) but good luck find a spot there unless you are going there late at night. You best bet is the Skyview Mall or street parking on 37th ave. Décor and ambiance– pretty standard– The place looked clean and bright with wooden tables all around. Estimate seating around 40 or so. We got to the place around 9:45pm on a Friday night and got seated right away. Our waiter seems to be in a bad mood or maybe he just doesn’t like to smile or perhaps overworked but either it’s okay, he wasn’t rude or anything, he just gave us all water and took our order and left us alone. Cutting Board offers a variety of food on their menu, it’s hard to categorize them as one cuisine since their food range from your typical Chinese to French/Italian pasta and to the Japanese style udon. There are so many good choices here but here’s our favorite: Fried Calamari– The fried calamari here is great, golden brown, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside but what made them stand out is the dipping sauce– they give you 3 different ones– a curry aioli, a Thai Chili aioli and a marinara sauce. They all tasted delicious but my favorite has to be the curry aioli, lots of depth of flavors, creamy and the curry wasn’t overly spicy which made it a perfect compliment to the fried calamari! Uni Pasta– When my friend said this pasta was legit I immediately question his choices in food, how can a Chinese restaurant have good Uni pasta? but after he gave me a bite of his pasta, I finally understood what the hype is about! The pasta was creamy and flavorful. It’s a bit like penne alla vodka, now to be quite honest I don’t know if they use real Uni in there or perhaps how much Uni is used in the dish but the flavor is there and on point. Too bad I can’t handle too much cream or else I’ll be all over the dish, so jealous of people who can handle it!!! MUSTTRY! CB Mussels– Again another dish I would question ordering at a Chinese restaurant in Flushing but boy am I wrong! This dish totally exceeded my expectation, I will go as far as giving 1 extra star just for this dish alone. The mussels they served are not frozen, they are quality stuff, big and sweet– you can taste the difference. The mussels are perfectly cooked and the creamy saffron sauce made the mussels even sweeter with a little kick of spice in the end. and yes they know how good their sauce is so they even give you a piece of garlic bread to soak it all up! and for $ 10, it’s stupidly cheap for it’s taste and quality! MUSTGET! Drinks– Ribena Seltzer– it’s San Pellegrino in grape favor! Price: reasonable– Most dishes ranged from $ 6-$ 11 which is quite reasonable consider the taste and quality of food they serve here. Overall: Still very happy to say Cutting Board didn’t disappoint. That Uni Pasta is indeed legit! The service can be worked on a bit more but the food and the price is excellent. I will visit again soon but next time I’ll make sure I pop some lactose pills before I visit!
