Horrible service, slow cooks. Food was average at best and serving size is actually quite small. Ordered 4 dishes and each dish took 15 – 20 minutes to come out one at a time. By the time the next dish came out we were done with the previous one. The last dish didn’t even make it out. We asked the waiters at least three times about it before the manager came out and said the eggplants were no good today so they can’t make it. If that was the case then they should’ve told us that earlier(hmm I don’t know, maybe one of the three times we asked about the dish would have been nice) so we didn’t sit around waiting for 30 minutes with empty plates. On the way out I saw one of the waiters sitting down at a table chatting with the patrons. Maybe that’s why service is so slow! The waiters are just sitting down and chatting on the job!

Wandered in here almost accidentally when I saw they had Peking duck. Their waitstaff was VERY friendly and chit chatty which, having lived in Flushing for a long time, a bit unusual. Perhaps because it was early and they were not busy at all. Peking duck was good. They use the traditional pancake wrap and not the buns that some other places use.

Food was DELISH! Our family enjoyed all the items we selected: — Giant sea clam that lots of other tables also ordered. — Peking duck — Accompanying pancakes were flour tortillas. Worked well. — Fish fillet and tofu casserole. This is a staple dish for us. — Lamb chops. Fragrant and full of deliciousness — Chicken herb soup. Tastes like a lot of love went into prepping it. Nice touch to serve soup in the stylish white containers — Mochi dessert. Perfect with the peanuts, coconut and other toppings Next time we’re in Flushing, we plan to dine here again and try more dishes. This place has a following. However, I suspect that most diners who love this place are not Unilocalers because of language barriers.

Hidden gem in flushing, HK style casual food that really brings back memories of my travels there. While they have more traditional Cantonese items on the menu, they serve items like CLAYPOT rice that’s ‘off menu’ and advertised on their windows. Ordered the preserved meat and frog leg clay pot rice and minced pork with salty fish claypot rice. Comes piping hot with a thin layer of crispy rice that forms on the bottom of the pot and plenty of flavorful house soysauce to generously pour on top. The flavor and textures meld together to form this delicious bite. Simply beautiful. For less than $ 10 a pop, that ain’t half bad! Also ordered the roast squab — a little bit more expensive, but squab tends to be pricier on average. Super moist and flavorful while crispy on the outside. Comes w the traditional wedge of lemon and pepper salt. The ambience and service is casual-this is not the type of place for atmosphere(so align your expectations!) but for flavor and taste, this place is top notch!

TURNBACKNOW! My food came out 10 – 15 minutes before my boyfriend’s food. I had to let it get cold so we’d be able to eat together. It wasn’t bad, but $ 8 is WAY overpriced of a small bowl of egg drop soup in Flushing. The fish rolls contained no fish and were basically just deep fried pockets of mucus. though there was a generous side of mayonnaise to go with them(???). After waiting forever for the check, this somehow amounted to $ 24. Worst part is I actually came here by accident. My boyfriend and I meant to go to Sifu Chio next door, which is supposed to have a great dumpling trio, by the way. The minute we sat down, we realized we went in the wrong place. Still, we thought«why not just give this place a shot?» …Now we know.

Absolute disappointment. First of all, it was so stuffy and uncomfortable the entire meal because there was barely any AC. The lady serving our table was so huffy and was so defiant when we asked if there literally was duck’s butt in the soup because it was radiating everywhere. She said no… but someone in our table ate a whole piece of it so clearly there was. They redid the soup for us, but the rest of the dishes were awful as well. Miniature dishes with barely anything there. Ordered one thing and got something completely different. Others came here once and it was better but it was during lunch and was less busy. Never again.

This place is what I’d consider a «hidden» gem — in a neighborhood lined with Chinese restaurants, it seems that this place is often overlooked for bigger or older, more established restaurants. In my first trip to this place, I was shocked by how extensive their lunch special menu was(from recollection, there must have been at least 50 different options). I ordered a Chinese sausage casserole while my mom opted for a pan-fried flounder. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the casserole came with ginseng chicken soup, while the flounder was accompanied by the house soup. Both dishes were large in quantity and decent in quality and the prices(about $ 17 total for 2 people) made the experience that much more pleasant. One thing this place could improve on is the service. Our waiter was a bit clueless and kept forgetting little things(bowl of rice, etc) and our food came out pretty slowly for a place that was only half full.

I don’t really know what to think about this place. It was really good but fairly expensive. Got two lobsters for 40 bucks and a 2.5 lbs dungenous crab for 55. I think the crab was a bit much. Also, on a Friday night, we were the only customers.

Tonight’s New Year’s Family Dinner was great despite the minor service errors. Reserved a table of 11 at 6pm and the table was all set up and ready before we arrived. However, it was hard to communicate with the front desk middle aged hostess who only knows Mandarin. Because she doesn’t really understand English and Cantonese, I had to repeat myself several times regarding my reservation and yet she was still lost by my words. So I just stood there rolling my eyes… Then finally she got help, a translator. Sigh #totalFAIL In addition, during dinner time. the waiters kept forgetting to fulfill our simple requests, such as bringing the glass cups and cold water. Anyhow, the food brought it back home. HomeRUN! We ordered about 9 dishes and enjoyed them all, especially the mouthwatering Peking Duck and meaty 4 lbs Lobster! The veggies were very fresh and delicious too! I approve hehe Below are some of our dishes from memory: Crispy Peking Duck Fried Jumbo Shrimps with Walnuts Sautéed with Ginger and Scallion 4 lbs Lobster Pan Fried Flounder Sautéed Snow Pea Leaves Boiled Chicken with Ginger and Scallion Lamb Chops Note: Grand Opening Promotion = 10% OFF!
