My Sweet Home(This restaurant’s real name) is a solid pick for a good Taiwanese dinner slightly outside of Flushing. Recently ordered takeout from here and I LOVE the fact that they pack the noodles separate from the soup. Soggy Noodles is like negative 5 stars. Pork & Chives Dumplings(Steamed) — Very soft and succulent flavor. A solid pick and great price for an appetizer. Probably one of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup — A traditional Taiwanese mainstay. The broth was perfectly seasoned. Not too spicy but still has a great aftertaste. The meat was refreshingly tender. I do wish that they gave more of the pickled mustard/vegetables? Rice w. Chicken Thigh & Leg — I was a bit disappointed this order. It seemed as if the chicken wasn’t properly chopped, or was chopped with a dull knife. Not only did I have to deal with bone fragments, I felt that the chicken portion was a bit small. Overall, I’ll still continue to come to My Sweet Home but the Chicken Thigh kinda left me really disappointed in them. If you do come here make sure you get the Noodle soup. It’s rather difficult to find a place that can make it delicious anymore. PROTIP: CASHONLY!!!

This Taiwanese restaurant is small and cozy, advertised as a dumpling and noodle place. We ordered both. Taiwanese beef noodle soup — my husband ordered this and it was pretty good. Soup was flavorful with a nice spicy kick. There was a nice touch of sour from the radishes that added to the favor. They gave two types of beef — tendon and regular beef. He enjoyed this very much. Shrimp pork and cabbage dumplings — I thought it was pretty bland in favor but they are generous with the fillings. It was okay with the sauce provided on the table. Pork chop noodle soup — very basic broth and udon styled noodles. My kids gobbled it up. The pork chop wasn’t bad either but I’ve definitely had better. Summary — okay restaurant when you’re in a pinch and hungry for Taiwanese food.

Let me start off by saying this is not your everyday dumpling restaurant nor your everyday dumpling. Think of the last dumpling you’ve had. Was it frozen? From a market? A plastic bag? Perhaps a restaurant but maybe it wasn’t that good. The skin may have been to hard or too thick. The meat may be mostly fat or perhaps it was just not enough. Now take all of those memories and toss it in a bin. Now these dumplings are the real deal. These dumplings are full of meat and goodies. Each bite is amazing and juice filled. The skin is soft and taste just right, at the right temperature, the right thickness, the right texture… it’s just right. Come to this little place and you won’t regret it. Bring your whole family and friends … I promise you will not regret coming here. Once you taste these dumplings you will never go back.
