My first initial horrible experience with this florist was for my wedding shower. My mother-in-law had ordered flowers to be delivered at my house the morning of the shower – in fact, she had paid extra to have them delivered before noon knowing that I would be at the shower after that. Late that Saturday night after the shower, we found a delivery attempt tag on the front door not even on the glass where you could see it from inside the home – it’s actually surprising we even found it that quickly. I called the next day when they opened, and they said they could deliver the flowers by that afternoon. I was leaving town and was incredibly frustrated that a) despite the extra fee my mother-in-law paid, the delivery was attempted in the late afternoon instead of the morning, b) they had never called that Saturday to schedule delivery, and c) they never called after the failed delivery. The customer service I got when I called to complain was ATROCIOUS. I eventually decided it wasn’t even worth it to pursue a refund. Moving on to my recent experience: I ordered flowers through Teleflora to be delivered to my grandmother on her 80th birthday this week. I picked a beautiful bouquet of bright orange and hot pink gerber daisies, roses, and spray roses. So I was shocked when I saw a picture of the bouquet my grandmother received – all of the roses had been substituted with CARNATIONS and the color scheme was yellow, hot pink, and pastel pink. It looked like something I could have picked up from the grocery store. Upon further investigation, I found out that Teleflora uses Flushing Florist. Why should I not be surprised. I’m glad Teleflora owned the mistake, because I’m sure Flushing Florists wouldn’t have done a thing. Any florist who thinks that carnations are an «equal or greater» substitute to roses should be embarrassed. I highly discourage anyone from using this florist – use Village Florist instead.
