Absolute awesome BBQ place! The only way I could see it getting better would be if they had a dining room. Great corn bread, desserts, brisket, pork, chicken, and sides. Definitely get more than you pay for here. Friendly staff, niche soda selection that you don’t run across most other places. By far stands out from the chain BBQ places and other local BBQ places in the area. Wish it was touch closer to home!

You can eat here, but is mostly a takeout place. The food is sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Never really bad, but if you expect consistent good bbq this place is a gamble. Sometimes the ribs are rubbery, the sauce is ok but nothing worth getting excited about. I guess the fact that they are one of only a couple bbq places around here gives them an edge, but I didnt think their food was all that great. Some of the stuff is really good, love their mac-n-cheese, but the meat is weak and thats what I am eating there for… Not saying I wont give them another shot, but will probably opt for Famous Dave’s(my only other choice in the area) next time.

Best BBQ joint in town. Huge portions and ridiculously cheap too. I love this place. I will say that I’ve only had the chicken as I try to stay away from beef or pork but everyone tells me that the ribs are incredible. Chicken so tender it falls off the bone! Also the brownies, pies and turnovers are all home made and delicious. Weird hours and they only take cash but it’s a small price to pay for incredible BBQ in a land of poser BBQ joints.

Im alway on search for good BBQ, so since we were in town I thought I would check this place out. After driving out of my way to get there, they wanted to send me on another 3 – 5 miles goose chase to use an ATM at a convenience store BECAUSETHEYONLYTAKECASH! Smelled really good, and I would of liked to stay and eat. I think this day and age most people expect to use a debit card at a restaurant. Maybe Ill stop by again when Im in the area and have cash.

We ordered BBQ for the family here, first we had to wait almost 45 min, which the only good thing about that was it gave me time to run to the closest bank to get cash, because they didn’t take charge. Then we get home, and our chicken is raw! Also we didn’t get all the sides we ordered, they substituted some out, because they ran out of what we ordered. The rest of the BBQ is just covered in sauce. After living in Kansas City I learned a great saying concerning BBQ, «a good sauce will hide BADBBQ» serve it up with no sauce and if it still tastes great, you have gotten a great BBQ! I will NEVER come back to this place, and I tell everyone I know to avoid it like the plague!

This is by far the best barbeque you can get anywhere in genesee county and I’ve had a lot of barbeque. Yes there are some things like not taking credit but so do other places. I’ve never had a bad item here. The sides are all homemade and so is the bbq not something pre-made like other places. I would recommend to anyone I know and the ones I already have love it.

By far the best BBQ anywhere near Flint. It’s in the middle of nowhere but worth the drive any day. The food is excellent and the price can’t be beat in my opinion. A true diamond in the ruff and if you like BBQ I know you’ll like this place. This is the type of BBQ you get at a competition BBQ

This place is just odd. Start with the hours, it makes no sense. Then it’s just awkward when you walk in, the people just stare at you like you should automatically know what you want. So after deciding on brisket sandwiches we waited. And waited. And waited.(BBQ is precooked right?) then it came. Absolutely drowning in BBQ sauce and tough as nails! I are a few bites and then asked for a to go bag only because I didn’t want to be rude. Then it comes time to pay and… The only take cash? I understand that some places do this but when they do there are big signs posted and they don’t look at you in disgust when you mistakenly try to hand them your card. Long story short, the food is mediocre at best, and the service blows. I would stay away.

great bbq and the sides are phenomenal! Stuck out in the middle of nowhere but definitely a hidden gem! Come early since they will start to run out of food as the day goes on! ALso have limited days they are open! Has a cooler inside w pop and chips and beer and such so it’s a one stop shop!

An excellent barbeque joint. Very small. You could eat in, however, most people take the food home. Their food is excellent — good portions, low price. You can ask for your meat with or without sauce, so it works for all types. They make an excellent brisket and an their potato salad is awesome.

Homeboy BBQ is the standard by which I measure all other BBQ. Their meat is smoked to tender perfection. It is flavorful but not overdone. Their chicken is moist and juicy. If you are ever there when they have bologna or corned beef, you are in for a real treat. These two are occasional specials that will make you beg for more. Each of their sides are scratch made and delicious. Don’t leave until you try the cheesy potatoes and the house specialty, barbecue spaghetti. Strange as it sounds, it is delightful. The portions are huge and the prices way cheaper than the local chains. I feed my family of 3 on one meal with a couple extra sides for usually around $ 20.

Homeboy BBQ is the best food in town. Reopened in October after closing for three months due to a real estate dispute. They have huge portions and very fair prices. The family meal they advertise for a family of 4 will feed 6 – 8 people. The corn bread can be ordered like Moms or with pineapple in it and is always very moist. I’m not a big fan of cole slaw, but theirs is very good and also has bits of pineapple in it. It is great on a pulled pork sandwich. All the deserts such as apple pie and brownies are made from scratch each day. The chicken breast are huge — I always wonder where in the heck they find such big ones. The cooler is stocked with pop from my youth — brands you never see in stores much less a take out joint. I ran a golf outing for many years and always used Homeboys for the dinner which was always a big hit with the golfers. We would have 125 people to feed and I would order for 75 and still have a ton of food left over. Cash only.

Couldn’t disagree more with the other reviewer. The portion sizes are fantastic. The food is delectable, it’s a BBQ joint, so sauce should be expected. Their sauce offers a great flavor. I’m not a fan of many sauces, but this one wins me over. The only thing keeping them from 5 stars is their schedule(Wed-Sun) and the fact that it’s Cash Only.

No complaints here. I love this place. I’ve had the brisket, ribs and chicken. Everyone one of them has been top notch. The staff is always fast and friendly. They make you feel very welcome. The portions are definitely on the plus size. You cant go wrong with any of the sides and the cornbread is delicious. In case you haven’t noticed — I LOVE this place. This is primarily a take out out place although they do have a couple picnic tables inside just for those customers who cant wait until they get home.

In my opinion, Homeboys is gross. Anything you order is covered in bbq sauce. I am the only person I know who dislikes Homeboys, and my 2 friends always say I like it, and I want them to stop.

I LOVE HomeBoys they are the true Barbeque spot for me. Well the hard part is to decide what you are going to get. I usually get the chicken and what I love about the chicken is the barbeque sauce, I love it my friends love it, so how about you try it.
