Our party of five ventured here on the second hottest day of the year to grill Korean BBQ. I was the last to arrive and took my seat at the head of the table. The interior consisted of a counter on the left upon entry and the dining area is set up in a homely fashion with wooden tables and charcoal stoves at each table. There are a handful of combo specials that mix selections of meat and marinated raw crab which is apparently a Korean delicacy. The motherly hostess very patiently described the offerings. She obviously knew how to treat her customers. Our party felt like long-time customers in her presence. Two of my friends ordered seafood soup separately. The rest of us settled for G6 which had two plates of short ribs and we switched the crabs for a medium beef tofu soup; we also chose the bottle of soju for the beverage option. According to the menu, the set was food for 2 – 3 people. The hostess even offered to cook up the short ribs for us at the next table! Once the order was put in, the ban chan plates were presented. There were pickled vegetables, tofu, and of course, kimchi. Everything was exceedingly fresh and we asked for additional helpings of favorites. By this time, the restaurant started to fill up, and the staff were running harried. Our first helping of short ribs was presented with rice. The meat was tender, well marinated, and full of flavor. The soju was flowing by this point. The second serving was just enough to leave me full and very satisfied. The combo option was a great bargain for $ 54.99 and coupled with the friendly service easily made this the best Korean BBQ meal I’ve had in at least 2 years. I am getting the word out on this place!
