I think this is probably one of the cleanest and most hygienic salons in the area. They leave the back door open all the time so that the place can air out, which is nice given that most of the other salons smell like a plethora of different chemicals at any given time. They also line their pedicure baths with a disposable plastic cover. May is super nice and noticed that my mom’s pedicure was messed up even before my mom saw it. She immediately dropped what she was doing and went over to fix it. Everyone here was calm and professional, and we had a relaxing experience here. It was a packed house though, and some of the ladies seemed to be waiting for 30+ minutes so I would recommend that you call in advance.

This place is not shy to make you wait at all. I was there at 2:06pm and wasnt even seen by 2:33pm I had to be back at work by 3:00pm! There were only two technicians who knew how to do acrylics. Insane! They do beautiful nails but the customer service is bad. They need more staff who have knowledge on how to do acrylics.

I always make an appointment so I do not have to wait my go to gal is Tanya she is great at what she does unless I want crazy designs then I use kenny. Prices are great always get a good pedicure also. Its a nice big salon with old school décor, everyone who works there is nice and my nails always come out looking amazing.

I have to take a star off for the fact that our appointment was not honored. Otherwise, the salon is great and did a decent job on my acrylic nails, which is rare. I’ve always been scared to visit a new salon for the fact that I don’t want ugly acrylics put on, but I will be returning here!

I’ve never had a bad experience here! I’ve only been here twice, but I have had exceptional service, and Andy does a great job! He takes his time to make sure your nails are done nice, and the customer is satisfied! I will definitely be back! I can’t wait to see what design he does next!

I’ve been coming here for over a year now. Kenny and Tonya are really sweet and wonderful people! I always walk out with beautiful designs on my nails that really are«show stoppers». I am constantly stopped by people wanting to examine the designs, and asked which salon I go to have my nails done at. On weekends, they get busy. Like any other place that has talented people working for them, there will be a line to wait in. If you have to wait your turn, please don’t complain.

My cousin and I both went here twice and will never go again. The first visit was great. But the second was awful! I work in an office I type on a computer all day I don’t do anything harmful to my hands or nails and have been getting acrylics for years and have never had a problem. First the guy cut up both of our hands with the tools. After polish he put the gel coat on top it had all bubbles in it. The next day the gel coat cracked and then the nail polish started to crack the next day! When the gel coat is supposed to preserve the nail polish for up to 3 weeks so they told me, which is why I got it. I have gotten gels coats in the past multiple times from other places and have never had this issue. My cousin lost 3 nails within 2 days of going there. They just came right off! So we went back to let them know we had some issues and see if they would fix them as we were there 3 days prior and most salons will fix any issues within a week. They were beyond rude and wanted us to pay to have our nails re done. And due to their mistakes we would have to pay for the whole set to be removed then a whole new set put back on and polished. I showed my receipt that I had only been there 3 days prior and they didn’t care. So neither of us will go back. Due to the large amount of nail salons in the immediate area we just walked down the block to Johnny nails who do a fantastic job! Seeing as there is massive competition image nails should have been nicer and stood by their product but unfortunately they lost 2 and potentially more customers because none of our friends will go either and neither should you.

I’ve been coming to Image for over 2 years, and each time I’m more and more impressed. The salon looks old school from the outside but is very clean inside. They are full service and offer acrylic fill ins, airbrushing, regular manicures, pedicures, gel, and waxing as well. Image is the most inexpensive nail salon I have ever been to. My usual nail technician is Kenny, who is remarkable. However, I have had the pleasure of working with Tanya as well. Tanya is really fast, her fill ins are always thin and natural looking and she never hurts me. She is not big on designs. Kenny does the craziest and most unique 3d nails with designs and amazing creations. Usually we brainstorm ideas together but sometimes I let him hold creative control. I posted pictures of some nails he’s done for me. He’s quick to find a solution and is capable of doing all 3D and painted designs for a super cheap price.(I usually pay around 35 for a full fill in and designs on every finger). This is the only nail salon in the Whitestone/bayside area I recommend.

For those of you complaining about the wait time, they are busy because they are a very good/popular salon. I have had to wait hours before and yes it is frustrating at the time, but i understand that i am not the only customer in there. just be sure to leave yourself some extra time when going there. I have been a customer here for about 5 years and i live all the way out east on long island(about 30 – 35 min drive). I trust them over any salon i have ever been to and will continue going here unless i move out of the state. My nails always come out perfect and the price is super cheep.

Didn’t have an appointment I was just a walk in customer so I really shouldn’t complain about how long they make you wait but the lady at the front nail station started working on my fill-in and then made me go to another person to finish it because the person who had an appointment came. They didn’t do that great of a job, the acrylic is suppose to stop right before your cuticle not on your cuticle. It was sloppy in simpler terms and the only thing they’re actually good at is painting nails and waxing. Like a couple other reviews had said they’re not shy to make you wait but they rush you when they’re working on your nails.

Torn on this one. The staff is friendly but is not shy to make you wait. I arrived for my 6pm appointment at 5:30pm with my Mother and 2 Bridesmaids. I started my nails for the Wedding around 7pm. I finished with my Pedicure at 9:30pm. I was there for 4 hours. My mother never got her Nails done — at all. They did offer to stay late and do her gel French Manicure in 15 min(late for dinner with a diabetic father — didn’t expect to be here 4 hours) but she didn’t want her first Manucure to be «rushed». It was my Mother’s Birthday today. I can’t believe after all this, they charged her full price for her Pedicure. Because they made us so late I didn’t get get a massage for my Pedicure. Yes, they cut it out so we could leave faster but we wouldn’t have been late if they kept their appointment times. So again, great staff — TERRIBLE service in terms of wait time. So many young kids were allowed to cut in front of us. 4HOURS for a Mani Pedi?!?

Maggie from Johnny Nails works here now. And let me tell you, she is THE best! Her fillins last over two weeks and she loves chatting with her clients. Once she noticed that my hands were so badly chapped and recommended that I soak them in lemon juice and boy did it work wonders. Love, love, love her!

I went to this nail salon a few times, after I had gotten fed up with my regular salon(that manages to nickel and dime me at times, despite being a weekly regular). I used Kim… she is very nice, efficient and the place is CHEAP! Cheap as in pricing, not service. The place smells like an old school nail place, but the prices are ridiculously low. They do nail designs on every nail for free(or a very, very small fee) and they are all free hand, yet are so precise it’s unbelievable. It seems that each operator there pays rent for their station and they are quick to hustle you in and out of there. They place is packed with the usual from Francis Lewis Blvd, which is what detracted me from going again. The place does nails very well, and their designs are spot on… I personally prefer a quieter place that isn’t such a factory.

I have been coming to Image for years. During high school it was the place to go for Sweet 16s and Proms. I gave them 4 stars based on their price. You can get a manicure and a pedicure for $ 16, their pedicure alone is $ 10. Their acrylic tips are usually $ 30 the first time you apply them and fill-ins are only $ 20, just about the cheapest you will find in the area. This includes designs on every nail that the nail techs spend a great amount of time on. I always go to Vee, she is very nice and takes her time making sure my nails come out perfectly. There are other girls in here that rush through and only worry about getting the next customer in. It always seems very clean and I have seen them sanitize every time I am there. They have a wide array of colors to try as well, which actually always seems to confuse me! I suggest making an appointment even though one time I had a bad experience with making an appointment. It was this past Mother’s Day, I had made an appointment for a fill-in and a pedicure, I was taken 15 minutes late for my fill-in, okay I could deal with that, but then tons of people without appointments kept walking in asking for all different services. As I was getting my nails done I kept seeing them take more and more people in for pedicures, I was almost done with my nails so I figured I would be next to get a pedicure. The owner, who I know for years(I even tutored her son!) asked me if I wanted to come back later for a pedicure because it was so busy! I was so mad that she was considering taking the walk-in customers before me, someone that has been going there for the past almost 10 years! This really put a sour taste in my mouth for the way they run their business. It has not stopped me from going there just because of the shear fact that you can not beat their price. Many other places in the area charge $ 40+ for their acrylic tips.
