Do not go here if you do not speak Chinese. The people on the phone are ok, it was easy to communicate and make a reservation BUT once we arrived our waiter really struggled to understand simple requests such as Siracha, or even to turn the oven on or off. The food was good, but we ordered what we knew since we couldn’t ask questions due to the language barrier. My friends chose this place because they LOVE one in BK, since I live in flushing they wanted to try this one. Unfortunately none of us speak Chinese and therefore did not enjoy the service at all. The restaurant itself is very nice, the music is cool, the food is good but the language barrier is really a deal breaker. Will not return to this location.

(Originally written and published for ) The food at Mister Hotpot appears simple, but the flavors have remarkable depth. Darla’s is known best for its range of fruit pies, including apple, blueberry, rhubarb, and peach, and the reputation is well deserved. The fruits are harvested from local organic farmers, and the pies are served warm with fresh homemade vanilla ice cream crafted with real vanilla beans. A host of other goodies, including brownies, cookies, and candies, line the shelves, offering something for the whole family. The shop is both clean and tidy – despite having limited space and more customers than can fit inside at one time – and all the staff members there greeted my companions and me with smiles as warm as the pies they serve there. I would thoroughly recommend Darla’s Snack Shoppe to anyone with a sweet tooth. I know I’ll certainly be returning soon. (Originally written and published for )

Good food but a little pricy. I personally prefer Mister Hotpot than 99 Hotpot… Remember to come earlier to get seats. Otherwise will wait for hours

This location is definitely more spacious when compares to their original 8th ave location in Brooklyn. BIGGERSPACE, LESSWAIT, SAMEQUALITYFOOD. I’m glad the flavors stayed the same along with the service. Servers here are very attentive. Food is highest quality. WAYGUBEEFISTHEWAYTOGO. One of the best hotpot spots around, been here couple of times and will definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try flavorful hotpot.

Stopped by around 9:00PM on a Thursday night and the place was still packed! Luckily, there was a table getting the check, so we only had to wait for 10 minutes or so. There were 5 of us and we only used one pot. At the table waiting for us was a tray with 8 different condiment items — satay sauce, green onions, cilantro, garlic, fried onions, chilis, peanuts, and a chili sauce. There was a premixed soy sauce in a dish and you’re supposed to add the other stuff into that sauce. I’m not a huge fan of soy sauce, so I added my extras in a different bowl. The menu is pretty standard, they have their regular items on one menu, and their premium items on another menu. Add the condiments quickly because they take the tray away when you’re done ordering! You can always ask for more, but the servers seemed to be annoyed by that. The price of the broth is listed on the menu, and if you want to do two different broths, it cost $ 15. We went with the pork bone and the spicy herbal. The broth comes with a bowl of veggies and some vermicelli. For the five of us we ordered the beef platter, the shrimp paste with fish roe, fried tofu skin, noodles, an assortment of veggies and tofu, pork meatballs, and a couple other things. The two broths that we had were alright — the spicy herbal wasn’t that spicy, or that herbal, the pork bone broth had a good flavor, but I don’t know if I liked it for hot pot. The best item we got is probably that shrimp paste. The servers will portion it out and drop it in the broth for you. When cooked, it’s brilliant. I can’t really describe it, but I really liked it. It had a crunchy-ish texture, but was still soft. If you’re a fan of shrimp, I would highly recommend this item. The beef platter was more than enough for the 5 of us — I loved how they offered all the different parts of the cow — it’s rare in most hot pot places. All the other items we got were pretty standard. At the end, they offer a Melona bar(melon flavored ice cream bar) for dessert. Overall, it’s a solid hot pot place, but it’s pretty expensive. I’m not from the Flushing area, so I’m not sure how it compares to other places. I would come back for that shrimp paste, but that’s about it. P. S. Go use the restroom when you’re here — it’s definitely an experience!

You must make reservations to get a seat here. Book early too because it’s no surprise if they are out of spots on a Sat or Sun night. When you eat hotpot, it’s no surprise when you leave that you smell like. hotpot. That smell lingers on your clothes for so long. What I like about Mister Hotpot is that behind every booth, there is a hidden closet you can stash your coats and bags in. What a simple yet innovative idea! It won’t entirely mask the smell but it definitely does help. Your phone even has a «closet» under the table so you won’t spill juices and food over it. Price wise, I believe they’re comparable to other hotpot spots in Flushing, but what I like most about this restaurant is their food presentation and soup base. When we first arrived, we were seated with a menu and a waitress came over with their sauce station. I really liked how we didn’t even have to leave our seats to make our own sauce. Talk about being lazy haha. Overall, I had a great meal. No complaints about anything I ate here. The servers were really attentive too. We had constant plate changes, soup refills and water refills. I would love to come back again soon!

I was there last weekend for dinner. This place is pretty popular so make sure you call them to get a reservation. I so looked forward to eat there but somehow I wasn’t impressed. Food was fresh and nicely plated. The restaurant is modern and clean. Service was good, they even have a closet for you to store away coats so they won’t catch the hot pot smell. Food portion was big enough to fill you. Everything we had was fresh. Now here is the biggest con, We ordered their pork bone based soup. I could easily tell the soup was artificial, I am very sensitive to that and I know how artificial Chinese soup taste like. Even though they put a few pork bones inside, my assumption is the soup was of course pork bone based, but in order to make it look good, they added flavored powder into it. That is why it looked very condensed. I cook a lot myself, so I know in order to make soup look condensed like that, Chinese people usually would add soy milk or milk into it, but I didn’t taste them at all from that soup. I had a feeling that I was having instant ramen soup. This is just my personal opinion, I have nothing against this restaurant. To be honest, I’d rather have a clear but real pork bone soup instead of something that looks good but I have no idea what is inside.

Great hot pot spot. Decent broth in the communal pot, wish they had individual pots though. Very deep menu selection and great service throughout the meal. Menu consists of the expected meats and veggies. Some meats even come in platters, for instance the beef platter is served various cuts including cartilage, tongue, etc. There are also items not foreign to asian cuisine but definitely not usually seen in hot pot spots like kidney, liver, gizzard etc. Good stuff. The mister hot pot beef with eggs on top kinda sucked. Just tough, only item I would avoid. Only annoying thing, wish they left the various sauces and herbs at your table or have a station some where. Awkward when you have to re-up your sauce and they bring the basket over and stand there watching you refill and immediately take it away. How expensive are peppers, garlic, scallions anyway? Throw in an extra dollar fee per person if that was cutting into the bottom line.

I had been here several times. Always love the food here. 華仔 is our waiter tonight. I have to compliment his service and work attitude. He is very nice and friendly. Five stars for the service he provided. I usually make reservations when I go to Mister Hot Pot because we know sometimes they get really busy but if you have a reservation. They won’t let you wait. We had abalone, snow crab legs and some must have items for hot pot tonight. Love the foods here. They are always fresh and clean. At the end, as usual they will offer us a ice cream bar. Will definitely come back again!

hello, my deliciousness! Please do yourself a favor and get the pork bone broth! It is soooo flavorful! Your life will be changed forever! You won’t view other hotpot flavors the same. As with any hotpot places, you order all the sides: protein, vegetables, and noodles– they have an overabundance of variety– even some more expensive cuts of meats and specials if you want to be fancy. We got half and half on the soup broths so that I could try(my gf had gone there a few days prior). Again, PLEASEGETTHEPORKBONEBROTH. The second broth we ordered was the spicy herbal. I wish I could have sampled it prior to order because for me, yes, it’s herbal and I’ve had herbal hot pot before but the herbs in this broth overpowered EVERYTHING. Anything I dipped into the herbal broth tasted just like that. I like to be able to distinguish what I’m eating after I’ve dipped it. My BFF liked it but it’s just not for me so I’m not knocking off a star for that. Next time, I’m only getting the PORKBONEBROTH.(Have I convinced you to get the PORKBONEBROTH yet?) For sauces, they bring you an assortment of sauces that you put together yourself. We came on a Sunday night with no reservation at 9:30 and we were able to get seated right away. SOHAPPY because we were starving! I think the best part is that they give you green melon ice cream bars for dessert. Some say it’s free in the review but really though, it really isn’t free since you’ve paid for everything else you’ve eaten. Just an added perk that you don’t see the charge on your bill. HAH.

We came here on a Friday night, it wasn’t as busy as we thought. The quality of protein was good, we had $ 30 beef combination, fatty beef, fatty lamb and pork belly. I also enjoyed their vegetables and frozen tofu. We were thirsty after the meal, I felt the soup base was a bit too heavy, it could be lighter.

You get what you pay for. Not in quantity but in quality! I came here on a Sunday night with my family and let me tell you, they were packed! We didn’t have to wait long but I suggest you make a reservation. You most likely will get a table earlier than the walk ins(ahem my family and I.) Out of all the hot pots I’ve had in flushing, this one is by far the freshest(and most expensive.) they mostly cater to the people at the Hyatt.(Basically that entire food court is.) We ordered fish, beef, veggies, fish balls and some other stuff I can’t translate. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! All the meats and poultry literally melted into my mouth. Lord it was food porn. However, the portions are relatively small. Quality over quantity guys! The only con is the check you’ll be receiving at the end of your dinner. The total came up to $ 110 for 3 people without tips. Service was great! Friendly and efficient. They also give free melon ice cream at the end of your dinner! Definitely recommend this place to hot pot lovers or for those who are trying it for the first time!

Really good quality hot pot. We stopped by at 3PM when it opened on a weekend, and it wasn’t particularly crowded throughout most of our meal as a result. We had a pork bone broth for our hot pot, and it was thick and extremely flavorful. We ordered an assortment of meat dishes, which were all very fresh as well, as well as some more unique dishes like fish paste«noodles» and 3-second tofu skin. The service was also quite good and attentive for most of the time, and I appreciated the melon popsicle that we had at the end. It’s a little out of the way and definitely a bit pricier than your normal hot pot, but definitely worth the extra cost.

Mister Hotpot used to be the sole reason I would journey to Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Fortunately, this second outpost opened recently in Flushing, Queens, a closer alternative for people who live in Queens. If you had any fear that it wouldn’t be as good as the original, you’d be mistaken. First, reservations are essential, unless you want to dine at 11 pm. Make sure you call the correct location — a recent trip with a dining companion almost flat-lined our friendship when we realized that he had made the reservation at the Brooklyn location. Luckily, the staff fit us in if we were OK with a shared table and a 60-minute time limit. We acquiesced. The food is proudly displayed on two menus, an illustrated one for specials, and a regular one for everything else. The specials are a delight, with choices like Wagyu beef, rib eye, fresh seafood of the day, whole crab, and more. While these may cost a little extra, they are many times more tasty than their«un-special» counterparts, and the staff can cook these for you at the table. My favorite specials are the ribeye($ 15) [super flavorful, tender, and perfect at medium rare — you don’t have to cook it all the way], the sliced grass carp($ 10) [fresh, thinly sliced, sometimes has bones in it], the housemade shrimp paste($ 9), and the jumbo razor clams($ 20). Things I did not enjoy: The Mister Beef, which paled in comparison to the slightly more costly ribeye, and the Australian Abalone(an expensive luxury item flecked with gold-leaf at $ 15, that vanished in several bites). The other menu is comprised of standard hotpot items, but it is comprehensive. Clams are only $ 6, and my dinner companion remarked how fresh they were. Greens are served in terracotta clay pots, resembling garden greens. With your meal, you also receive a platter of assorted vegetables and noodles, but it’s best to supplement your meal with more if you want a fuller experience. The broths are excellent too, the creamy pork bone broth being the house special. Don’t be surprised when you find large bones in there, as they stew for hours to create a luscious, tantalizing soup that slicks off your tongue. Unfortunately, there is no sauce bar, but the servers bring each diner a pre-made sauce consisting of lemon, soy, and a touch of vinegar, and a cradle filled with additional ingredients to customize your sauce as you desire(garlic, cilantro, scallions, spicy oil, sacha sauce, fried onion, fresh chilies). After the meal, free green mango ice-cream pops are offered, one of my favorite parts of the meal. Savor it slowly, and it helps cut the heaviness of hotpot. PROS: Comprehensive selection of hotpot items Specials list of daily fresh items, and luxury items like wagyu, ribeye, and more. Attentive service Two locations(Flushing as well as Sunset Park, BK) Fresher items Deeply-flavored, delicious broth Free ice-cream! CONS: Reservation essential No hard liquor(only beer, wine, sake) On the pricier side

I love mister hotpot!!! Hands down best hotpot in flushing and there’s another location in Brooklyn!!! It is very pricey, for 3 people, we tried to order the basic, veggies, one plate of meat, and other random hotpot essentials, the bill was $ 116 included tip. If you want to get an idea of how much you can order before going, I have pictures posted as well. However, it was worth all the pennies and dimes lol. Pork bone soup base was heaven, so creamy and rich in favors, it was the best soup base I have ever tried and I ate a lot of hot pot. They serve alcohol there and I asked them about byob, corking fee is $ 15 so go buy a giant bottle of wine on Union St. They do give out free ice cream bars at the end and gums when you ask for the check!!! Great services from beginning to end, they just kept pouring our drinks for us!!! Parking might be a little tough in flushing. Skyview mall parking is $ 3 up to 3 hours. Street parking will be none existent basically.

I really enjoyed this place with my parents. They really know how to treat you well. The sauces were taken right up to you and you made your sauces as you sat. The décor is really nice and some jamming music to enjoy over a beer and good meal. Reservations is a good suggestion. The food and cleanliness was really up there! I enjoyed everything we ordered. The meat platter, lamb, 4 jumbo shrimp. Drunken chicken was really great to add, we actually over ordered and had trouble finishing all the meat and veggies. Soup broth we got the herbal which was very flavorful, but the tom yum seafood was a treat. Nice mix of ingredients ! I will have to check it out again. It is on the pricey side but well worth going for a special occasion or a good time.

Came here with my family and had a really good experience! The service is the highlight of this place actually. Everyone was super attentive and friendly. They would always make sure our drinks were filled, help us cook some of the meats/noodles/and etc, and just always there to provide us with their service. One of the best services I’ve ever had! So my family and I had the pork bone broth and it was very good! We ordered sides like beef balls, fish tofu, the premium Japanese beef, Shanghai noodles, all types of veggies, and etc. Everything was fresh and good. Although I don’t think the Japanese beef was worth the $ 40. All in all I would come back. OH! Also at the end of the meal they give you free melon Popsicles. What a great way to end a meal! Yum!

Fantastic all around. There’s great service from when you arrive til you leave. The staff will assist in cooking your food, they are attentive to your table so you’re always cleaned up or replenished with your drinks. Food wise, yes it’s on the pricier side but the presentation, freshness and taste is all worth it. It comes out quick and it’s all yummy. The fried tofu sticks are my favorite! Dip it in for 3 secs and you’re all set. They have more unique dishes as well, like Kobe beef, ‘mister beef’ which is beef marinaded in raw egg, dungeness crab, abalone etc. which, we got a free abalone for tagging them. They also give a free melona bar for dessert. No thumbs down but just be prepared to have a steep bill, unless you don’t eat much :)

King Crab: $ 340 Lobster Sashimi: $ 240 Australian Green Lip Abalone: $ 15 per Jumbo Razor Clam: $ 20 Those are a few items you won’t find at Spring Shabu Shabu. But if you wander around the new restaurants beneath the Hyatt Hotel and stumble into Mister Hot Pot, you may find yourself dropping a grand for a meal. This spot aims to provide a QUALITY alternative to your usual Flushing Hot Pot @ a significant price of course. By quality, I mean in terms of the quality of the food and also the experience as well. Going into the restaurant, you will immediately notice décor that resembles Old Hong Kong. Mailboxes, paintings and signs hung all over the restaurant are directly imported from HK. Even the restroom takes you back in time by playing old Chinese hits such as Cha Siu Bao. The food here was fresh albeit pretty pricey. If you aren’t getting the hella expensive seafood, you can order beef combo($ 30) and you’ll get different types of beef such as fatty beef, beef tongue, beef intestines, tripe, skinny beef, etc. Soup base here is legit and it’s $ 20 per soup base and $ 30 for combo(2). All in all, this is a premier Hot Pot Spot. If you have the $$$ go for it. TIP: Be sure to call ahead and make reservations! In addition, if you are planning to get the King Crab and the Lobster Sashimi, you’ll also have to call ahead.

Made reservations for 7pm Saturday, but when our party arrived, we still had to wait about 10 minutes for our table to clear. This place is not all you can eat, you order what brooth you want(10 — 15 $, comes with a veggies), and your protein($ 5+) and additional side items like noodles or veggies. At the beginning before your meal, you get a tray of sauces to mix and match for yourself to dip your stuff in. Their watermelon drink is pretty refreshing. The herbal tea sometimes is a bit watered down, but sometimes it is super concentrated. Service is super attentive and honest. Felt pampered with their attentiveness and super responsive and quick in getting things out. They would help you skim the fat boiling on top of your soup and help you with the whole cooking process if you look a bit overwhelmed. Nice décor and the bathroom did not spare any details at all either. Get melona ice cream bar at the end of your meal which was a sweet touch, and some gum which was refreshing cause my breath was kicking at the end of the meal; how thoughtful…

Finally a Mister Hot Pot in Flushing! I was so happy it finally opened since I never trooped all the way to the Brooklyn location. Unfortunately the food was nothing to write home about and it was pretty expensive. The watermelon juice was watered down and didn’t taste good at all. Having to make reservations in advance and not being able to walk in unless you come super early like us at 4:30PM really sucks and since it’s cash only I took off a star. The pros were the workers were very attentive but since there wasn’t much tables being occupied I wouldn’t know how it would be if it was packed. The benches have storage spaces to out your jackets and bags in if you don’t want it to smell which was awesome but they didn’t tell us and I had to figure it out myself after being nosy and exploring. Also I saw the phone charging station which was cool but I didn’t need it. I took another star off because the sauces were limited and they bring it to your table and take it away when you are done so they can bring it to other tables. I know if you have a good soup base you won’t need sauce but the bases weren’t different from other places I had such as Hot Point Pot and sometimes I need that extra kick from the peppers. The atmosphere and decorations were pretty and cute but the music felt like we were at Express Clothing store! Sad to say I won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place to anyone since there are better Hot Pot places nearby.

Before I went, Mister Hotpot was already hyped up to me through word of mouth and the long wait times they boasted. We had to wait a total of 1.5 hours on a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was bustling the entire time. I do suspect the wait time has to do with the fact that hot pot takes a while, and that the restaurant itself is not that big. Besides the frustrating wait and the language barrier between me and the servers(they only speak Mandarin), I had an amazing dinner here. We got the Mister HotPot special broth(half spicy, half not) and ordered a huge variety of dishes including fatty beef, shrimp paste, fish tofu, fish roe balls, sliced fish, pig blood, etc. Everything was fresh, delicious, and came out of the kitchen quickly. This is definitely a «fancier», more high quality version of hot pot so the price you pay will reflect that. I think it’s well worth it, and highly recommend this place. Note: This place is no longer cash only. I used my credit card here.

UPDATEDREVIEW they don’t keep your reservation even though you called ahead of time. Worst service from the host. They rather lose out on money even though there are clearly empty tables.
