I went to Riva Salon once over the summer for a blow out for a wedding i was attending that day — Dayra did my blow out and honestly, I have never in my life had a blow out stay so long! The curls she put in never fell flat and boring — they eventually waved out as the night went on and they still looked amazing. More recently I had gotten extensions put in at another salon by the recommendation of a friend and while the application of the extensions was good thats about it… there was no shape or style to my hair and they were much too long for what I wanted (I stated i only wanted them for thickness not length) and to make matters worse, the color of the extensions did not match my hair. I called Riva Salon to see if someone could see me the next day to cut & style my extensions. The girl i spoke to on the phone was really bubbly & sweet and she recommend Patricia to cut so I made an appointment for the next day. Patricia is literally a god send! She cut the extensions to the length I had originally wanted and she blended them with my natural hair to make it all come together. She’s a hair goddess — real talk. dont let anyone else cut your hair, this girl is the absolute best. Patricia then introduced me to Jodi to discuss getting color done to match the extensions so I made an appointment the following week to come back in. Jodi is super sweet & funny and matched my color perfectly! I am beyond thrilled with my experiences at Riva — everyone at the salon is professional, talented and so friendly. You can tell from the energy in there is as good as it gets. Also* the owner, Isaac is almost always there — even on Sunday. I think thats the true marking of a good boss, you can tell that he cares about his staff & clients just from his presence. Moral of the story is — go here. everyone is great & you wont be disappointed!

Isaak from Riva is an amazing colorist I would not trust my hair to anyone else he does my highlights and always gets it right. I love Riva and would never go anywhere else.

I found Riva on Unilocal and thought it was worth a shot. I walked in wanting to do a red to blonde ombré. Isaak explained to me why I couldn’t do blonde at the tips but he would lighten it. He did just that! My hair has never looked better and I’ve never been happier!

First time customer and I love this salon. Everyone is so friendly and kind. Dayra cut my long hair from below my waist to a longg bob and I love it! It’s exactly what I imagined what I wanted my hair to be. I’ve gotten compliments all day.

i found RIVA because it’s in my neighborhood. I Unilocaled it and the reviews were awesome, plus I had 2 recommendations from friends who have dyed their hair here. so I booked it.
I asked for dayra but I came 30 minutes early to my appointment and they switched me up in the book. I was a little hesitant since my research found that Dayra was great. Malissa (Yes with an A not and E) took me in and washed my hair first. she took her time and even massaged my head, it made all the difference. We discussed what I wanted to do with my hair and I was praying she understood what my vision was. and she did.
I sat in the chair and I thought it was great that behind each mirror was a coat rack and handbag hanger. I hate salons that have a shares coat rack. always having to fear someone will walk out with my coat. That way I got to watch my belongings.
My cut and blow dry was phenomenal! Everything I pictured, I was given. the staff and service is too notch. the best part was my haircut was $ 45 and Ion top of that I got 10% thanks to Unilocal.

Great salon and everyone who works there is very good at what they do. One thing I love is how clean and chic it is inside. The layout is awesome and is what attracted me in the first place. Prices aren’t CRAZY, just usual salon prices. I don’t really get my hair done religiously, only trims and sometimes when I’m feeling bold I’ll get some color but I come to Riva for my hair needs and leave very satisfied. Everyone who works there is very friendly. No matter who I get I’m comfortable with because I trust they will do a fantastic job!

Love LOVE LOVEEE this place! Such a polite warm staff that makes you really welcomed into their place. There’s nothing I hate more than walking into a salon and just standing there waiting for someone to see me. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted immediately by either the friendly receptionist or one of the staff. You are taken care of right away ON your appointment time. While waiting for color to sit they offer you beverages. The place is beautiful, clean, and organized. It’s a NYC top salon feel at reasonable prices. What else could you ask for?!
I have come in for a blow out a couple months ago and saw Naomi. What a talented bubbly stylist! My hair came out amazing and stayed for days!
My recent experience was with Isaak. What a miracle worker! He’s a passionate, knowledgeable, caring, and talented stylist! I walked into the salon with a bad job done somewhere else hoping for him to fix it. He was patient and spoke to me for about 10 minutes before we even started to tell me all the risks of fixing my hair color and his opinion. No matter how negative I was about the person who did my hair and how bad my hair color looked, Isaak was professional in his communication. When he was done… I CRIED! I couldn’t believe the work he did. There was no way I could ever believe my hair would turn out that good after the disaster it was when I walked in. The color looked natural. He worked so hard for 3 hours to work with me and my hair to get the desired results. He’s AMAZING!
Unfortunately, I’ll never be returning to my usual beautician again. I trust she would never make this mistake again but the overall experience at Riva was too good to ever go anywhere else again!

Very very happy with my hair! Was my first time getting my hair done there today. After reading the amazing reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give it a try. Very good products are used here which I love, it’s very clean inside. friendly staff, and excellent service! I love how my hair looks! Thank you Isaac for speaking with me and taking your time to help me make the right decision to choose the right red for my hair! Thank you to the girl who washed my hair I felt so relaxed as she was massaging my scalp and asked if the water was okay which a lot of places forget to ask! Thank you to Patricia for the wonderful blowout! I will definitely be back! Thank you all for creating an amazing experience!

Riva was amazing!!! The staff is extremely attentive and friendly! They listened to what I wanted done with my hair and did it! I left looking and feeling great! They kept asking me if I was ok and if I wanted anything. The owner issak did the same and was very sweet. I had Jody who was awesome with my color and so nice and Naomi gave me a great cut and blow (along with a lot of laughs!) the girl who shampooed my hair was bubbly and adorable (sorry I forgot her name) as well as the girl at the front desk! Ugh forgot her name too! She even gave me a great Sangria recipe!!! go here for your hair! Don’t wait!!!

Love the staff! All are very thorough and know exactly what they are doing! Isaak worked his color magic and did the exact style I wanted! Darya is amazing! Cut my hair with perfection and did a wonderful blow dry! I’m definitely going back!

I just stepped out and I feel amazing. Dayra is excellent. My hair feels so light and lively. I just did a cut. Nothing major, sort of a long bob really.
Let me say that this place has very affordable prices and I felt so comfortable here rather than overpriced Christies in bay terrace.
The place is cozy and everyone is very welcoming. They ask if you need any refreshments when you walk in and tell you to relax.
For my first time here, I’m more than satisfied. This will be my regular salon for now on.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The staff here is so friendly, kind, and knoweldgeable. Jodi does an awesome color! She really knows what she is doing. I have recieved the most compliments on my hair color since she has been doing it. Its light, natural and just perfect. She really knows what shes doing and will tell you if you really need a whole head of highlights or half a head. I dont feel like she just sees me as a dollar sign where some other places do. She really works with you.
As for my hair cut, Dayra does a great job. Shes really nice and makes sure your happy with the cut and doing whats right to keep your hair healthy.
I like this place also because its guaranteed 3 people to tip. Im not tipping 20 different people. If your looking for a quality hair salon, this is your place!

Ive had a certain hairstyle that ive wanted for years. Ive termed it the «ladyhawk»; So I stopped by here just to ask if they could do it.
Not could they do it, they could do it right then and there. It was Saturday morning and it was already quite busy so I appreciated it.
Isaac sat me down and we went over exactly what I wanted. He even looked through the photos I had saved as reference. He was patient and skilled. Actually, the entire staff was so cordial and also very enthusiastic about the haircut I really wanted, especially Madison who had something similar.
It was really just a great experience. So I rescheduled for a touch up in two weeks. I really recommend this place, not only for their service and attitude, but for the skill as well. I even saw customers walking out and over heard them praise about how much they loved their hair.

Can’t stop obsessing over my new hair color by Jodie. I went from long black asian hair to a beautiful sandy blonde ombré. Thinking about going a little lighter now and looking forward to going back!

Called early today and got an appointment same day. I loved everything about it! Came in early and got taken care of quickly.
Isaac took care of me and hooked me up good! Loved his personality and how social he was. He did such a great job. I loved how the color came out and how silky smooth my hair feels.

I had an event to go to that night and I had my hair blown out by Stephanie and she did an amazing job. It lasted for three days it was the best blowout I ever got. You want to great blowout that last go to Stephanie she’s the Best.

I went to Riva Salon for the first time back in March. I was a bit skeptical because I don’t trust many stylists with my curly hair. I was given Jenise and I asked for a bob haircut and gave her specific details on the style. She gave me exactly what I wanted! I will be seeing her soon for a trim.

I had to write another review because I absolutely LOVE this place. Best stylists in the neighborhood! and maybe even Queens! (no exaggeration). I’ve referred over 7 (maybe more) of my friends to come here and each and every one of them has loved it. They’re ALL now regular customers.
This place has a great atmosphere, all of the hair stylists are friendly and accommodating. Very professional environment. They have amazing prices for the quality of service you get. I really couldn’t be happier with my results and will continue to come back here as long as they’re around. (hopefully forever!)

I have had my hair done here multiple times, and it each time has been amazing!
Previous to my last visit here, I made the mistake of going to another salon in a hurry. Which they had totally butchered my hair! I knew I had to go to Isaak for help.
He truly is a talented artist. He’s not just a hair colorist, he has a true passion and eye for his work. It means so much more when you enter an environment where people love their job. He completely saved my hair without little to no damage done at all. Isaak has a large range in his style which makes me feel even more comfortable. Knowing he can do much more than a single process.
As far as my haircut, it’ been long due for a chop. Dayra transformed my long, damaged and unhealthy hair into a beautiful, full and healthy perfect cut and style!
