Unlike one of the previous reviewers, we actually do drive out of our way to get to Shimon’s. We’ve enjoyed the pizza, the borekahs(especially spinach), and lots of the various knishes. They’re very generously portioned and well priced. But if you’re lucky enough to get there on a day they have Sweet Potato knishes, stock up. In this month of November, they could easily become a new Jewish Thanksgiving tradition.

What a surprise this place was! My friends and I went to Max & Mina’s for some ice cream and we all got a craving for something savory so we decided to pop in and get some slices and falafel. I was a bit intimidated at first since everyone in there was Jewish(«One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn’t belong…» was going through my head) and I just felt a bit out of place, but the guy at the front counter was very nice and immediately put me at ease. Since this is a kosher pizza place, there is NO meat on any of the pizzas, which is perfectly fine for me since I am a veggie pizza kinda girl anyway :) I ended up getting this GINORMOUS spinach calzone for only $ 6.00, my roomie got a HUGE falafel wrap for like $ 5.00 and my hubbie got a typical sized cheese slice for a couple of dollars. The calzone was DELISH with creamy gooey spinach and the falafel wrap was top notch. With Max & Mina’s on our list of weekly visits, I will definitely be back: D Reasonable prices and tasty food? I am good with that!

First time eating here and I must say it’s one of the cleanest pizzerias I’ve ever ate at(sorry Gaby’s). I happened upon this place by accident. The owner was friendly and the food was fresh and prepared properly. I ordered the cheese calzone and the spinach calzone. Never realized how big they were, ended up eating them with a knife and fork, DeBlasio style lmao. I never knew feta could taste so good hot and fresh in a Calzone. I would definitely come back again when I’m in the area.

I’m a mother of three and shimons is my lifesaver. They have the best PIZZA one could ask for. Their place is very clean and very Spacious.

The only thing I like about them is that they have whole wheat Saturday night. While. Just other pizza stores don’t. But I find that the pizza is not as good as other pizza stores in the area, also the owner is always like in a crabby mood and just wants to get to the next person. Overall somewhat good experience since the pizza is thick and the whole wheat options are broad

Kosher pizza in general isn’t very good however this place isnt too bad. The problem with this place is the pizza is VERY inconsistent !! Sometimes they make it so good and you feel it’s the best pizza you have ever had, but at least half the time it’s not. Sometimes the pizza is light and beautiful with the perfect amount of sauce, the other 60% of the time there is hardly any sauce on it and the slice looks like it was heated up a few times before serving you . The bathrooms are just about the most disgusting you can find in a food store, very old, ugly and seriously need to be updated.

so once again the need for Kosher was in the house… here we come Shimons. Dive-y as Unilocal so asks YEP dive-y with a capital D. interesting selection of slices, spinach, some noodlely one. 4.50 for a slice and a soda a little steep. I want my crust with a bit of crisp. Shimon you got such a chance to be so good… and with that famous ice cream place next door. come on work on your crust you guys can be so good. So plastic booths, soda machine out in the open. and its a typical place. Muni Meter parking makes it a plus for me.

This is really the only kosher pizza I like… that says it all really. If I’m in the area I’ll stop in but I never get a craving for Shimon’s…but kosher pizza is subpar in general and Shimon’s brings it up a notch. Normal pizza prices

ok. A place to fill your stomach but not someplace I would go out of the way to get. old décor with wooden walls are endearing. Regular Slice — alright Eggplant Pizza — good One thing I have to say is that the dough tasted a little sweeter than a typical pizza. I don’t know what the difference is but it’s not something I think I’d get used to.
