If you find yourself frazzled amid the hub bub of downtown Flushing, talk a walk over to centuries old St. George’s church on Main Street, and catch a bit of solace.
It’s not open all the time, but when it is you will find a well maintained sanctuary complete an ornate ceiling, stained glass windows, and all sorts of churchy décor that pious folks love. And don’t forget to check out the very old and interesting cemetery around the church. I was told that there were some notable Flushing personalities buried there from back in the day.
