Lids

Before I start my review, the guy in the glasses was nice & this does not apply to him.
This is a hat store, featuring professional sports and college sports hats, not my cup of tea. Anyways, I went to Lid’s with my cousin as he wanted a hat for his birthday. He’s 12, I am 31. My cousin picked out a hat; the employee told him that he can get a player’s signature on the side. (I overheard the convo and it was presented as it was free) My cousin was so excited that he could get the signature…(knowing nothing is free, I asked the employee how much?) Cost was an additional $ 11.99. I agreed to it since I told him beforehand to get whatever he wants. However, it was obvious they were taking advantage of a little boy. Anyhoo, they told my cousin that the players get the «signature fee» and explained how it has to show as a different purchase on the register (sounds illegal) …HE’S 12!!! Oh yeah, they showed my cousin several hats in the «marijuana» section (real classy), which left me answering several awkward questions.
Anyways, my total came $ 52.00 (ridiculous price) I am ready to swipe my credit card but no. I was told about a lid’s savings card that is basically free but cost $ 5.00.
I said «so my total would be $ 57? I don’t wear hats, this would not be beneficial to me…»
Employee:“Are you sure? it’s free.“
Me: «it’s free? You just said $ 5.00″ Employee:“well no, but you would save 21 cents»
me:“I don’t want the card”
employee «a dollar is a dollar»
me: «I don’t want the card»

Lids is a hat store. More specifically, it is a baseball hat store. A store with hundreds of baseball caps.
There were hats here for teams I have never heard of or hats for teams so bad no one would dare wear one (Falcons).
They also can make a custom hat or embroider any hat you buy.
I picked up a new Redsox hat which was the identical brand and price as the one I purchased at Fenway many years ago.
The employees were very friendly and helpful. They even suggested my brother and I combine our single hat purchases to save money.
If you need a good baseball hat, this is the place.
