Customer service on this day was so awful it was funny. I was in plumbing with my wife. I needed a section of one inch pipe cut and threaded into specified lengths. I flagged down a friendly associate and explained what I needed; he said he would find the guy that knows how to do it. He came back with said guy and I again explained what I needed. The pipe expert was a paunchy, balding guy in his 30s, who didn’t seem very interested in doing any pipe cutting. His first move was to try and find pre-cut/threaded pipes that would work for me. I quickly discouraged his hunt by explaining that it would cost over twice as much to buy the pre-cut/threaded pipe. At this point he just stopped and stared at me, not for a second or two, but a continuous dead-eye stare that stretched on and on. You could almost see the wheels turning as he tried to figure out a way to get out of doing it. At last, he decided he was trapped into working. It wasn’t long before my wife and I discovered the reason why our reluctant pipe cutter was so reluctant. We watched in amazement, and then amusement as this fellow tried to operate the pipe cutting and threading machine that he clearly had no idea how to operate. The attempts went on for about 15 minutes until he finally declared the machine hopelessly broken. We almost felt sorry for him, but his sloppy attitude and lack of any enthusiasm for being useful precluded that from happening. We have shopped at this Lowes for years, along with the Home Depot right next door. Head to head, Lowes usually has a slightly better selection of products, Home Depot has better trained and more knowledgeable employees, prices are usually equal for comparable items.

I bought multiple appliances at one time(stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and hood range). The hood range install went great-but here’s the low down on the rest! 1. Refrigerator delivery experience was horrible. They didn’t level it and frost was coming in and ruining all of the food(crystallized food and ice in the freezer). There was also a dent in it. They did replace that so it’s in good shape now. 2. Kitchen-aid stove arrived with a broken drawer. They said they were going to order the part. It’s been months and nobody at the store will call me back. I still have a broken drawer and the stove cost about 3K. NOTACCEPTABLE 3. Dishwasher-installation went well-the team that installed it did a great job. Afterwards, found out that they didn’t bring the part for the bottom. Found that out by accident when I was looking at it online and saw that it had a face that wasn’t installed. Installation ordered it and have never heard back from them. NOTACCEPTABLE 4. Hood Range-perfect-but than again, not much to it! So. my advice is buy at your own risk. If you purchase, I recommend putting it on a credit card that will protect you because you will have problems with Lowe’s. Don’t depend on the install department-they are never there! When they are there, they try to route you to the sales team and they try to route you back to install. They also schedule installs without letting you know they are coming-on one of my deliveries-they called and said they were on the way(not prescheduled). Seriously, I wouldn’t recommend Lowe’s at this location to anyone and I feel like I’m doing you a favor by reviewing them online.

We had our kitchen completely remodeled by Lowe’s. Everything went well picking out what we wanted and ordered. Then, demolition and installation came. Lowe’s promised to handle everything because we are in Michigan and our kitchen is in Alabama. In was plagued by phone calls from sub-contractors(hired by Lowe’s). When we saw our kitchen, the new cupboards and counter top were beautiful. However, there were holes in the walls, gouges in doors and door frames and nicks in furniture. Most recently, the brand new kitchen faucet was leaking. A plumber assessed it was a faulty faucet. Lowe’s promised to take care of it the next day. That was 3 weeks ago and it still hasn’t been addressed. Never again. Lowe’s has lost our business due to poor follow through and customer service.

It’s Lowes, you know their deal and what their about but this one in particular has a true small town local feel about it, all the staff i’ve ever dealt with have been more than friendly and helpful and that in itself is priceless !
