I love it. There is no place like it. It has everything that is not food. Anything you need at the beach is here and the people are FRIENDLY and HELPFUL. Clothing, footwear, sunglasses, lotion, toys, coolers and coozies, gifts, stuff to keep children happy and occupied, All kinds of stuff stuffed into a store.

This is an awesome old school beach cheesy junk store with all the silly stuff that you remember from being a kid like weird seashell things pirate flags goofy water toys and all that good stuff. They also have cheap beach chairs towels sunglasses sunscreen and all that other stuff too. I just love this place is just so packed and so crazy and wacky it’s totally a Folly Beach original and run by some really cool old school local people.

I’ve been frequenting Mr. John’s Beach Store every summer for as long as I can remember.
The man that owns and runs the store now is Mr. John’s son. I’m not sure how long the store has been there but it’s clearly an institution on Folly.
It’s a great little store with just about everything you could need while visiting the beach. They have the basics for a great beach day — towels, flops, toys, inflatables, etc.
They also have souvenirs if you are looking for postcards, magnets or the like.
They include some higher end items too such as jewelry and ridiculously cool porch/​chair hammocks. I had to literally pull boyfriend away from those and I must say that I can’t blame him. They were awesome. I bought a fab bracelet from there many years ago and still rock it on a regular basis.
A trip to Folly is not complete for me unless I go to Mr. John’s! I highly recommend checking it out.
