After the bakery downstairs decided to get a new location I was feeling sad about not being able to go downstairs and get my cupcake fix. Well after having been to Carter’s Cakes, I’m still looking for something to fill the void. First I came in and didn’t order right away because I wasn’t exactly sure what some of the things in the case were. They either weren’t labeled or I was certain that what the sign said was not accurate. While I was waiting a woman figured out what she wanted to order and went, which was not at all a problem. But while I was waiting there were some kids running around in the back like where they cook the food. Kids are messy and don’t belong with food in my opinion. it was a rather lengthy wait because the woman was making 2 transactions and the man seemed rather confused with her orders. All of this I could tolerate, I wasn’t in a hurry so I patiently waited my turn. When it came time for me to order I asked the man for 1 macaroon. He said it was $ 1.95, I figured that it was probably amazing, however when I bit into it, it tasted like it came from Costco. I could have bought a whole box of chocolate covered macaroons from Smart and Final for $ 6 as opposed to 1 Costco macaroon for $ 2. Though it’s right downstairs from my job, I won’t be back.

We had the almond croissant, a chocolate pastry, and a cinnamon roll — with some hot coffee and they were delectable! Can’t wait to go back to try Carter’s desserts and breads.
