Impeccable service. Folsom Autotech goes ABOVE AND BEYOND what is expected of them to help out their customers. Today as I was having a meltdown after finding out the car I purchased yesterday was salvaged I called Folsom AutoTech from DMV needing two certificates to make my car legal to drive and not only did they do the service immediately, they also expedited the process and got me back to DMV in no time. THANK YOU Folsom Autotech for making my rough day a little easier! You guys ROCK!

As I was driving from San Francisco to Salt Lake City, the emergency brake light keeps beeping when emergency brake is not engaged. It would annoyed me to drive all the way to Utah with that beeping noise, so I stopped by Folsom Autotech. The staff here are friendly and helpful. They tried to fix the problem, but they couldn’t find the part anywhere in the Sacramento area, however, they did a temporary fix, which got me to Utah without anymore issues. Thanks Folsom Autotech.

Auto Tech is the ONLY garage I have ever taken a car to for repairs in which the actual invoice is less than the quoted repair. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I recieve from them. They are up front, honest, no upsell tactics and provide a quick turnaround. I paid extra to have my vehicle towed to them due to distance from breakdown because I knew they would treat me right from past experience. Thanks guys.

I had my brake pads replaced here about a year ago. The price was less than the dealership and about the same as another quote I’d gotten from another independent garage. I have had no problems with the brakes since.
When I dropped the car off they gave me a ride back to work, and when they were done a few hours later they picked me back up to come get the car. I was grateful for this service.

We’ve taken all of our vehicles to Folsom Autotech for the last 24 years, and their family owned business has the only local mechanics we trust. We’ve gotten all kinds of bad advice, suggestions, and quotes from local dealers, tire shops, out of town mechanids, etc. over the years, and then taken our vehicles back to Folsom Autotech for real guidance that always turns out to be honest and trustworthy.
What I like most about them is their flexibility and understanding around each vehicle’s purpose. When our kids were small, they made sure we never broke down with little kids in the car. When our teenager’s were driving old «beaters,» they were really good about helping us keep them safe, without fixing every little problem. We were always comfortable having our daughter take vehicles in for repair because they are all gentlemen, took the time to explain everything to her in a way she could understand, and never tried to push her into a repair she wasn’t comfortable with.
When we’ve worked with local dealers, we’ve often had to take vehicles back multiple times because the problem was fixed, but something was missed when they re-​assembled the vehicle. Every repair we’ve ever had done by Folsom Autotech has been complete, fixed the problem the first time, and hasn’t needed any follow-​up.
They are a full service shop, doing everything from oil changes to major engine repairs, with the exception of tire sales. I think their prices are very reasonable, considering they cost less than the dealers (but who doesn’t?), they guarantee all of their work, I’ve never had a vehicle under their care break down, and I’ve never had to return a vehicle for the same problem. If you want a professional, honest mechanic, and who doesn’t, then these guys are the best we’ve ever worked with.

Old story. Took my car here for a repair and was quoted a large sum for the repair. Took the car somewhere else and the quote and repair was far cheaper and far simpler. I don’t trust these guys at all.

I will never take it here again. They charge for doing inspection. And the prices are too steep. If you dont know about car stuff, they will cheat you.

Great service. Had me in and out in one day. I was expecting they would have to keep the car all weekend, but these guys are great! Fantastic service from some Air Force veterans!

I have rented a uHaul truck from this place before with no problems, and the location was great for our needs, but today was a disappointment. Our reservation for the truck was for 1200, but as most people know, moving is stressful and unforeseen circumstances come up often during the process. We showed up at 1:00 and there were two men behind the desk, one on a computer doing what looked like bookkeeping or something, and the other asked what we could be helped with when we walked in (appropriate response to a customer walking into an establishment). When we said we were there to pick up a truck, the response was an immediate «your reservation was at noon, I’m on lunch, come back at 2». I could maybe understand giving the reservation up to someone else who wanted to rent the truck at 1:00, but there clearly weren’t any takers and it wouldn’t have taken very much time at all to get us going on our way with the truck. We aren’t renting from this place ever again. If the employee had asked us to please come back at another time without the attitude and scorn, we would have. Customer service isn’t a priority at this establishment.

I rented a U-​Haul from here for a few hours. After I returned the truck I saw that I was charged a $ 25 cleaning fee. I called to ask why and the person I spoke with just said it was not clean. I disagreed and asked him how long it took him to clean it. He said it doesn’t matter. His final response:
«The next time you rent a U-​Haul, sweep it up. Now you learned your lesson.»
Pretty crazy thing to say to a customer. If any lesson was learned here it’s that people should avoid this place like the plague.

These guys took great care of me.
My Honda was overheating and I had it towed to Folsom Autotech. They discovered that I had a cracked engine block. However, they also researched that this is a known problem and Honda will do a warranty repair for free. They got all the warranty paperwork for me, called the Honda Dealer to let them know I’m coming in for this big repair, and then gave me a ride to work. They then got my car running well enough that I could safely drive it 5 miles to the dealer.
After all of this they actually apologized for having to charge me the $ 65 minimum service charge. Hey guys, you helped me get a new $ 5000 engine for free. I’m glad to pay $ 65 for that kind of service.
I signed up for Unilocal just to give these folks a good review. They deserve it.

They fixed AC condenser in my car with $ 200 less compared to the dealer estimate. The guy has owned business in Folsom since 1978. They are honest people. We always take our cars here for repair.

He chargered more than 2x for just the starter. A new one is half the price of what he charged for a rebuilted one. So I will never go back to these guys. I got their name from this site, therefore I post this here.

I saved $$ 600 taking my business elsewhere and got higher end parts. These guys will fix your car but you will paying way too much.

These guys are great. There is a reason they have stayed in buisness for 27 years. They will always take the time to take you out to your car and show you why they recomend a repair. My entire family has been coming here for years. Thanks Bill for all the free rides in Folsom.

So far have only talked to them on the phone. Very helpful and friendly. Sending a Honda there for pre-​purchase inspection since I live 2 hours away. Sounds like one of the guys used to run the shop at a Honda dealership so he actually knows a lot about Hondas. We’ll know soon what they find wrong or not wrong. Hope they are as thorough checking out the car as they are discussing it.
