Felt like have some phở on a cold day(#8 phở w/flank and rare steak) to warm me up. This place is very clean, pleasant staff, and has plenty of parking. Being a vietnamese restaurant in Folsom I was skeptical on how it would taste. Surprisingly, at the astonishment of my taste buds this place is possibly the best Hoa Viet I have been to in Sacramento. Bold statement but very true, taste buds don’t lie. Also got the pepper salted spare ribs #87 which was seasoned to perfection, not too salty and the jalapenos add a touch of heat. Great, presentation, fresh tasting, and above all the food was great. Pair this with the young coconut drink that has coconut shavings and you officially entered cloud 9 #SWAG. I highly recommend this spot to fellow Unilocalers looking for great Vietnamese cuisine.

We found this great Phở restaurant after our workout at the nearby 24hr fitness. Since we live out of this area, we were cautious of going to an unknown Phở restaurant. Turns out this was better then our usual! It smelled clean and was very comfortable inside. The food was very clean and very good! The service was also exceptional. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area.

Given that Vietnamese cuisine is very limited in Folsom, I’m glad I found this place. Today it turned rainy and cold, I brought a limited wardrobe, I was was cold & wet. What better to have than a bowl of phở? I ordered phở tai with the meat on the side. It came as is right with basil, lime, jalapeño, and bean sprouts. I also added some cilantro which had come with the cha gio and sriracha. It was very good. The meat was fresh and tasty and enough for me. The broth turned out really good and the noodles were not gummy. I also had the imperial rolls which were not as good as some others I’ve had. The wrappers were a little tough. Service was very sweet. Unfortunately they don’t have a beer license yet. The menu is extensive and I can’t wait till my sweetie visits, so we can order family style and try some of the regular dishes.

Considering it is the only Viet place in Folsom it is good. Always busy at the lunch hour. Their phở is good, not the best but good. The Viet pancake is good, not the best either… but since I can go on my lunch hour I have to say they are OK. I don’t think I have tried the charred pork OR my beloved eggrolls… so I will update when I do. Price for Large phở is $ 7.00. Go at the 1:00 hour cause noontime is packed.

Food is eh. Being Asian, I have had better. But why the 5 star? Possibly one of the best customer service. My husband picked up the to-go order that I had called in advance, and came home with half the order??? My phone was in the other room, and I didn’t realize somebody has been ringing my phone off the hook, and left me several voicemail. I checked my voicemail, I had realized that owner of the restraunt had called me numerous times to ask to come back for the other forgotten order, but oops? I had called her back and spoke to her. She said to either come back and pick it up(it was now 9:30, and they had been closed already) or pick up a new order tomorrow. Since I was hungry now, I had asked if there is any possible way they can deliver?(Which I know they don’t do). She had made an exception and told me she will send an employee my way and took my address down. 30 minutes later, food was delivered, and I couldn’t be happier. WONDERFUL customer service!!! You guys should seriously consider delivery though!!!

I’ve dined in and out of this restaurant many times. The customer service is hit or miss, the phở is always good, and the shakes/Thai tea are yummy. One complaint: the boba/pearls/tapioca balls are always soggy or under cooked.: / Order for one: #28 Vegetable Egg Noodle Phở $ 6.75 #27 Three Colors Sweet Drink $ 2.75 Total $ 10.50

After being disappointed a few times, I decided to give this place another shot. There’s no other place to get phở in Folsom, so what choice did I have? I ordered a large #9, and some pork and shrimp spring rolls, plus an iced Vietnamese coffee. I wanted a beer, but I was informed that after a recent change in management, there would be no more beer!!! On the plus side, the water no longer tastes like partially-treated waste water. Oh well, getting my food was a bit on the slow side — I attribute this to new staff. Once I did get my spring rolls, I found them to be delicious, and much meatier than before. The phở was decent, with a good broth and plenty of beef. No complaints! The coffee arrived late, and already mixed in a glass of ice. This is weird, especially since the table next to hours got their coffee in the conventional manner: filter dripping into a glass with condensed milk, next to a glass of ice. Weird. It did taste good, however. I hope that the change of management indicates that there will be more improvement. I plan to give it another try soon!

Went here to order take-out as a walk in. The wait was at least 30 – 45 minutes and there were only 2 other small families dining in. That wait seemed ridiculous to me since I’ve been to other Asian places that had food be ready when I walked in to order(not called in) and it was ready in less time with more customers dining in. Food was so-so. I’ve had better experiences at the Phở in Sacramento off Bradshaw I believe. Service was below what I’m used to. People weren’t too friendly or cheerful. I’ll skip this place next time and venture out to Roseville to search for Vietnamese food since I don’t know any other places around here.

Went here for lunch; not bad. Waiter service has improved, they are much more likable and were able to answer my questions about a few dishes. I had the thai chicken salad which was pretty tasty, the sauce always makes it for me :) I tried something new a tri-color drink. The waitress said it was good so I took her word for it. Its okay/good, I think its a drink that grows on you. It had coconut and red boba pearls, green jellies, and coconut milk; very interesting.

Service has improved remarkably, and the Phở is as good as usual. Promotion is in order to 4 stars!

Bad Service.- Server did not refill water, took order and it was wrong, charged us for items not given. Food– Phở was good but not as requested. Rice plate was not good, shrimp was over cooked, Pork was not bite size more like strung together and egg roll was burned. Spring rolls were okay but very loose they fell apart. The funny part was that there was only about 3 other people eating so to get this kind of service while business was slow is disappointing.

I have been going here since it became Phở Bac and up until about 6 months ago have been quite satisfied. I usually order the chicken phở and the last two times I have ordered it the chicken has been very low grade. I can’t stomach it. The last time I went the broth was so salty I couldn’t finish the dish. Too bad because Folsom deserves a really good Vietnamese restaurant. I understand it’s Hardtimes U.S.A. and a lot of restaurants are cutting corners but it’s terrible to be disappointed eating out. I won’t be back. I also have a feeling they are understaffed sometimes. The guys that work the floor really hustle and it seems they either have no method to working the floor or need one more body. Hope they figure it out. Update 3÷23÷11: I just received an email from Phở Bac in response to my review. it was really nice stating they are ever-improving and appreciate both positive and negative feedback. I thought that was nice, they even offered me a coupon to use upon my return.

This location makes the other Phở Bac Hoa Viets look good. Granted it’s a little cleaner than most of the chain but it’s food is the worst I’ve tasted so far… and I don’t mean from a Phở Bac or even a Phở place in general but out of all FOOD I’ve tasted. Their food is bad, their fried rice and chow fun is criminal. Their Phở portions are even smaller than the other locations and the employees seem pissed off even though they’re in Folsom. I’ve tried the Phở, shrimp fried rice and shrimp chow fun here… Phở was whatever. The fried rice wasn’t even hot. It was clearly not fried all the way as it was mostly lumpy. One shrimp was COLD. The portions were less than half of what I usually get at the Bradshaw location. The chow fun… was also lumpy, cold and sad. It was again less than half the size of the Bradshaw location. Seriously… cold shrimp??? I didn’t order cocktail shrimp, I ordered a hot dish. Never visiting again as it fails in every aspect as a restaurant.

Don’t come here expecting your server to be warm and friendly. They do what needs to be done to get your food out to you, then that’s it… unless you’re able to flag them down again to get a refill. I’ve ordered take out as well. I normally get either grilled pork or the wonton egg noodle soup. On the menu this particular soup comes in one size but I’ve gotten two different sized containers of broth. I felt gypped the second time I ordered it and got less soup. Lame. As for the pork, I love grilled pork. The quality has been pretty consistent, sometimes a little too fatty for my liking, but the portion is just right for the price. The interior of this location is more contemporary than the old ripped booths at the Broadway location. I wish the EDH and Folsom area had more legitimate Asian restaurants. If this PBHV was located anywhere else it would get 2 stars. But 3 stars for being the only Vietnamese food in the area.(If it’s not, can someone please share?)

Okay maybe this restaurant is not my favorite but I keep coming back to it again and again. First of all, on a cold rainy day, phở is awesome. So I will eat phở here with tendon only(I know I am weird!). I’ve tried some other dishes here, duck noodle, beef noodle, cat fish claypot… etc. What I’ve notice is that they overseason the food with too much salt so I would pretty much avoid those dishes. The duck noodle has too much bones and not enough duck in my opinion. So what can we eat here? #53, A9 are some favorites. Beef chow fun. #53 is grilled beef/chicken/shrimp with vermicelli noodles, a really good sauce, and some veggies. Definitely a top seller I thiink. I recently discovered A9 which is a very fun appetizer. Basically you make your own rice fresh rolls with veggies, chicken or beef, and some other goodies. The food is cheap and fast so even though it’s not getting 4 or 5 stars from me, it remains one of my regular lunch spots.

Wanting to try Vietnamese food for the first time, we decided to visit Phở Bac Hoa Viet. The wait staff were not as helpful as they could have been though they were friendly, but the service was very quick and efficient. My favorite dish of the evening was the Crystal Walnut Chicken, which had a delicious taste. The rest of the dishes we tried were satisfying, but did not have a distinct flavor or spice. Overall, they food was tasty, but not as unique as I had hoped.

Phở Bac on east bidwell bOOooo shame on you for taking forever to get me my food. The last few times I came in here the service was horrible and the food was laced with too much MSG. I never drank so much water without running in my life. HA! In addition the waiter was sloppy and lazy no customer service. I mean I know Chinese people don’t have feelings but common man you couldn’t faked it, I did. I will no longer frequent this Phở Bac location as this is not indicative of the service and quality of the other locations.

Barely passable. Got a #1. Soup was alright but had a lot of msg. For what I paid, it wasn’t worth it at all. Much better choices along Bidwell.

Wow, some bad reviews and I guess I can understand why. I ordered the chicken phở and it was stinking bad. So bad, that I couldn’t eat a complete bite and asked them to take it back. I never do that. The chicken is about the lowest grade, darkest, most gristly and gamiest stuff I’ve laid eyes, nose and lips(just barely) on. Just avoid all things chicken here. Saying this the service and décor are better here than at their sister restaurant on Broadway, owned by members of the same family. I got to swap out the chicken for the beef ball phở. It was better but not excellent. I’m thinking I need to try some more phở places before I start believing that phở might be better off with no meat … or in my own kitchen.
