This review is for the food. I came in really hungry around 9pm on a Friday and was hoping for some really good food. The food wasn’t «bad» it was just average. I was especially disappointed in the Tomato Mozzarella Salad though, it’s $ 8.50 and you get some spring mix lettuce topped with vinaigrette with literally, 3 slices of tomato and 3 tiny slices of cheese on the side. It’s not even half of a tomato, it’s hardly anything at all really. For $ 8.50 I was hoping for a little more. On the other hand, drinking here looks awesome. I’ll definitely be back to grab some beers and hangout in this atmosphere. Looks like a lot of fun.

Definitely my favorite pub. Great atmosphere, wonderful food, exceptional service. All the bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable while the support staff is always willing to lend a helping hand to do whatever they can to improve your experience. The food is great and the beer is very diverse.

The bartenders are quite surly and kind of unwelcoming. But the food is good and served quickly. Brie sandwich is delicious and the chicken pot pie is also good(but very rich). If you order the fish and chips, definitely order the large portion because the small portion is too measly for an adult.

I just found about this place and I was pleasantly surprised! They don’t have any of that just cheap beer, they have awesome European beer at good prices. If you go in there m-f from 4 – 6 you can pick up a pint of their selected beer for just 3 bucks. They also have some great happy hour food, so far my favorites are the pirogies and the hand made pretzel. I have also had the chicken pot pie but was not a fan, it was quite pasty and I really didn’t like the flavor at all. The fish and chips are great, not to much batter and the pieces of fish are good size, but I don’t like their tarter sauce at all, they say it’s fresh, but it taste store bought. The young server/buss person is absolutely clueless in what he is doing, he is very droll and NEVER brings me what I ask for. But hey, the food for the most part is good and I will be trying the rest very soon.

The place is kind of dark and rustic but the food is amazing and the prices are great. The deconstructed chicken pot pie was best I’ve ever had. My husband loves schnitzel and thought the sliders were excellent. We started the meal with the Scottish egg and a German pretzel(buttery, salty goodness). Decent selection of beers. This place will be on our repeat list!

As authentic a pub as this California bit who’s never been out of country has seen… whatever that is. Good beer on draught, full house made food menu and awesome atmosphere. High partition booths to give a bit of privacy made conversation very comfortable. We ordered lots to share between the table, big piece of fish and chips, bangers and mash, chicken pot pie, pierogies and poutine with mozz instead of curds. Everything was great! All was hearty, just what we wanted on a cold and rainy Christmas Eve. Go here!

We stopped by for lunch. I had the veggie Cornish pastie and my partner had the chicken pot pie. Both were so extremely salty — almost to the point of being inedible. The bartender was great. He was friendly and helpful. The food was a huge letdown. We will be drinking glasses of water the rest of the night.

I love this place … It has that old school European feel to it. The bartenders are all very friendly with consistent service. They make a great Bloody Mary in the morning, and have all of you eclectic bourbon drinkers covered. The menu is definitely much different than anything in the area, making it stand out as a one of a kind establishment. I recommend stopping in for a bite and a brew if you are down on Sutter Street.

i absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to come back. we had to park pretty far as there doesn’t seem to be anything else but street parking. I didn’t drive and don’t know the area so I might be wrong. our group arrived a little before 9pm the night before thanksgiving. everyone was in good spirits because of the holiday and looked forward to greasy food and strong pints. inside, the interior is very dark and cozy with a beautiful english pub-style bar. lots of english memorabilia, high tables, and plenty of standing room. all of it is very inviting. on the back wall of the bar are their list of beers, prices, and ABV. you seat yourself, in our case inside a booth, and once you’ve found your spot, head on over to the bar to order your food and beer. i spoke with a man first and ordered my beer, a union jack, and fish and chips as it seemed most appropriate for the place. he was nice but nothing extraordinary. lots of great food on the menu that i wanted to try like the scotch egg. once i placed my order, i sat back at our booth and in a bit our food was brought out. we all had the fish and chips except for my friend who ordered the chicken pot pie which was fluffy and hearty. my fish chips were hot, crispy and the right amount of greasy while served on «newspaper». once our food was gone, we continued with drinks. the other bartender, a blonde woman, was very sweet and attentive, even on a busy-ish night. she had struck up conversation with me and had some great recommendations. after a couple of hours, we left the warm and cozy pub house and headed back out into the cold folsom streets. as soon as i left, i wanted to head back in. lot of fun: P

I was hoping to relay some cool historical or folklore reference to Fat Rabbit. That isn’t happening so let’s move on to the meat of Fat Rabbit Public House(no pun intended). A handful of visits to Fat Rabbit in recent years. The interior is wood with a pub(public house) feel with table seating, half wall leaning, and padded stools at the bar. The location is on historic Sutter Street across from the public pavilion and turn-table. During November and December, you can watch the skaters at the ice rink through the front windows. Stopped in mid-day for bites and a beer or two. * Belhaven Scottish Ale * Einstock White Ale * Pretzel(big ‘olé softy with mustard) * Pork Schnitzel Sliders What’s a schnitzel? A schnitzel is meat(pork, in this case), thinned with a meat tenderizer, coated with flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs, and then fried … an Austrian thing. Good food and beer all around and I’ve had the same experience each time I’ve been here; usually choosing lesser busy hours during the day. If you’re looking for something European Pub-ish, try Fat Rabbit.

Stopped in last night with my girlfriend and a couple friends. It was a a great expire nice from the get go. Walked in and we were treated by some live Irish folk music. Loud enough to enjoy, quiet enough to enjoy our conversations. I had a London Porter that was on tap and was NOT disappointed. We ordered some fries that had a spicy sauce and sausage on it. Don’t recall what they are called by they were VERY good. Conor was behind the bar and was great. My first time up he introduced himself and shook my hand. He was very polite and remembered everyone’s drinks. Kudos to you, we’ll be back for sure.

Service was a little slow at the bar and there were kids running around spilling drinks EVERYWHERE. But, the food was fantastic! But the food came or quick. The scotch egg was so crispy and the sausage had such good flavor. The perogies were cheesy and salty and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the fries which tasted so fresh and homemade. Will definitely make the 20 minute drive from Sac again, soon and OFTEN.

Staff is friendly. There is no wait service, so walk in, find your seat and order from the bar. Bartenders have been very efficient and friendly. Fish and chips is made with frozen cod — so it was not very good. The chips were good, however. We were turned off by the 1⁄5th filled bottles of malt vinegar on the table, sticky condiment bottles. some with missing caps. They should clean their condiment bottles(they were sticky) and refill the bottles. I asked for mayo, and the man handed me a half filled plastic bottle off of a shelf. Not refrigerated. Yuck. I declined. We have also tried the Irish nachos — eh — not good, and I had the veggie pasty which was very dry and flavorless. A shame as if they cleaned the place, and offered better food it would make for a nice pub! Maybe if they cut down on the variety of items they have on the menu, and focused more on making better quality food it would be so much better. Great location!

This was my first time visiting Folsom. I saw the reviews and figured this would be a solid place to eat. I absolutely hate English beer /food, yet this place had everything I wanted and expected. The patty melt was amazing and the beer is delicious. Good little bar and friendly atmosphere.

This will be a short review. I went in for a beer. Great atmosphere. Had the London Porter(I think), it was excellent. Kate offered great service, friendly, chatted some, fast service. Conner(?), bartender/server, offered great service and suggestions also. The food that came out looked great. Thank you for your time.

It’s hard to rate any place that badly when their logo is a fat rabbit drawn with its butt facing me. Too cute! And with all the beers that they offer of the English and non-English variety, it’s hard to find too many faults. I hadn’t eat all day so I decided to get a super gluten infested fries order with bratwurst and their spicy sauce on there. The sauce and chopped up bratwurst were spicy and the fries were providing the heavy bulk of the meal. My friends got tacos and pierogies made of cheese and potato inside. Those were happy hour specials. For the price they were good and my Smithwick’s beer definitely hit the spot. Other than the internal shame of me eating a gluten meal, I left full and satisfied. They stuck to their English theme nicely by playing all English artists during our time here(Police, The Cure, Bananarama).

Still haven’t had the chance to try out the food here(other than a pretzel), but it’s a great place to go at night when all of the bars get crowded. Chill atmosphere, good beers on tap, and an amazing chocolate mousse dessert that you just have to try yourself.

The Fat Rabbit is a charming and cozy English-style pub towards the far end of Historic Sutter Street. They have a great variety of delicious brews on tap(my recent favorite being the Einstök Toasted Porter). They also have a wide selection of pub food(none of which I have tried yet, but I have heard positive things about). Monday Game Board Night(6pm to close) is an awesome time to bring a group of friends to The Fat Rabbit to enjoy some delicious beer and have a fun time. The Gamers Grind down the street brings in over 100 games for anyone to play(card, dice, and board games).

While I’ve never been to England, this struck me as very British. You order at the bar(no waiter service), so you don’t have unnecessary chit-chat or awkward interactions. It’s pretty dim inside(even though I was sitting by a window), but that just helped with the atmosphere. The food was British pub fare and pretty excellent. Recommend the peroigies and the Shepard’s Pie. They also have a long and well categorized beer list. I found the labeled sections really helpful. Free parking in the nearby parking garage.

We came on probably the worst day ever… St Patricks Day. It was full & standing room only. You have to find your own seat and order at the bar. We brought our 3 small kids for the experience. But the bartender was rude to my boy when he asked for water. And there was no music. Who goes to a pub on St Pats Day with no music? Wth? We ordered the perogies, fish & chips, and Bavarian pastie. Ohh, they are out of pastie! What?!? And no shepards pie! Geez. Ladies bathroom was dirty. Hmmmm
