The owner, a Korean woman, told me she has operated this multi-ethnic dining spot for about 1.5 years. I was surprised they offer mostly Japanese food with a couple Korean dishes and one Mexican taco special(4 tacos plus a drink for $ 4.99 plus tax). Their menu doesn’t fit their name. This tiny«hole in the wall» is inside the front entrance of Superior Groceries. My mom told me multiple times that Superior is owned by a Korean guy. Previously the spot where Macho Grille is located in was a Korean owned smoothie place. I’ve ordered 3 different meals here, both Korean entrees and the small Japanese Bento plate. My Korean spicy pork was way too spicy for me! I ordered the small size and I didn’t even finish it. I will not be ordering this entrée again. However, I believe both my 75 year old Korean parents would enjoy this. All my meals came without drinks so I ordered a can of diet Coke and later a more expensive drink off their drink menu. My large size Korean BBQ beef entrée was too savory for me. I’m not even sure either of my parents would like this entrée. However, I did eat all or most of it. I did like my Bento plate except for the warm temperature of my Miso soup. I told the owner she needed to taste test her soup to make sure it was hot enough. She did turn the temperature dial up right in front of my eyes. I have a feeling all my future Miso soup will be hot enough for me. The soup was a pleasant surprise at first because it isn’t shown on the menu photo but I was really unpleasantly surprised at the warm temperature. I ordered the small Bento plate and it was too much food for me. I managed to stuff myself a little bit. I was unhappy that she didn’t apologize to me or offer me a partial refund or a free Miso soup the next time I chose to visit her place. This is rather typical of Korean owned businesses. They are good at saving money but they are not good at retaining unhappy customers. There is no doubt that any of her bilingual Hispanic female employees would have done much better at addressing my complaint than the 49 year old Korean female owner did. I have an explanation for this one. I’m only 46 years old and my Korean is worse than her English. Older Korean females like her look down on younger Korean-American females like me. There is no doubt in my mind that she would have given better service to someone who doesn’t have an Asian face and is also younger than her. This profile happens to fit most customers who shop at Superior Groceries. I think next time I’ll either try the $ 4.99 Mexican special(it’s the only one that comes with a drink) or the Bento plate again but only after making sure the Miso soup is hot enough. I’m not a fan of classic(real) sushi the same way I’m not a fan of raw Korean seafood dishes either. I do eat California rolls occasionally or cooked shrimp sushi. The only thing I like about raw Korean seafood dishes is the sweet and spicy sauces they are dipped and smothered in, that’s all. I prefer all my animal protein as well done as possible for safety and health reasons and my personal hygiene is somewhere middle of the road compared to other people I’ve met. Let’s not forget I have a food handler’s certificate that doesn’t expire until May 2016. I know some people consider California veggie rolls and cooked shrimp rolls«real» sushi but I don’t. I much prefer traditional Korean rolls(kimbap/gimbap) over Japanese sushi. Korean rolls only contain cooked, not raw animal protein so they feel safer to me besides the fact that I grew up eating them. Most of their prices are under $ 10 but a few items are above $ 10. —– Earlier this week my parents and I went grocery shopping at Superior. I asked them both if they would buy me a Bento plate special and they both scowled and said, «No! Dirty woman!» I guess that is the end of that! Update February 2016: During this month I decided to practice a new Spanish word(for me) with my favorite Hispanic female employee here. It was the word for«ice» which in Spanish is «hielo». She gave me free tap water ice and told me that the purified water at the edge of the counter close to the front door is free for everyone, not just paying customers. I guess this is now a cool place for me to hang out at on random occasions, isn’t it? I also noticed that all the entrée items on the menu are now under $ 10 but the drinks are extra unless you get the specials that come with a fountain drink(4 egg rolls with drink at $ 4.99 plus tax or 4 tacos with drink also at $ 4.99 plus tax).

I didn’t think much of this place because I am not a fan of Superior but I tried the sushi and it was great! I tried the California and Hawaiian roll and I was not disappointed. The rolls were a good size and got me full. The employees were kind and were able to whip up the rolls right away. The best part were the prices! Love affordable sushi!

At first I did not want to go there but I ended up going with my dad & I liked it. Their sushi & bobas are really good & their prices are decent. Sometimes it may take a while to get your food bc it gets a bit busy at times.

Yaki Soba and sushi are really good. For a while the crunchy stuff on the outside of the crunch roll was stale, but honestly I kept ordering it time after time. and lately it’s been fresh. Rainbow roll is really good!(:

Love their sushi! Inexpensive, fresh and really good! The tiger & shrimp tempura are the best in my opinion.

Awesome!!! I’ve only had their sushi, it’s cheap and good. I don’t know about their other food. Their sushi does taste fresh, had the shrimp tempura, California roll, crunchy, spicy tuna and the Hawaiian. Been here at least four other times. Quick, not expensive and delicious.

Took 15 min to get out order of drinks. Just drinks! Kitchen is dirty. A little cleanliness goes a long way!

Stay away from the chicken! First of all, they got our order wrong and insisted that it was my husband’s fault. After he drove back to return the wrong food, they gave us our chicken, beef, and shrimp fried rice with SPOILEDCHICKEN! I took one bite and spit it out! It smelled and looked BAD. I should report them to the health department. I will never order food from here again.
