Long John Silver’s

Where do I even begin? This place needs an overhaul desperately. From the outside that looks abandoned until you see a car pull into the drive thru to the inside that has greasy floors (so slick, I about slipped twice), it’s obvious Long John Silvers has long lost its ability to provide good food and an inviting atmosphere. My wife and I love Long Johns, so we pulled in, and walked inside. We weren’t greeted which several other locations do, the Manager or worker, not sure which was in the middle of the pathway between the bathroom and us and acted like we were just taking away from her time talking to her friend. The bathroom felt like one good pull and it would come off, and oh, as I mentioned earlier, the floors were just… wow. The lady who took our order was nice and offered us the deal the location was pushing at the time, we declined, but she was nice, We chose our order to go, wife wasn’t eating in that place, and I wasn’t either. Once we got our cups to get our drinks we walked over to the drink machine which was nasty, counter not wiped off, tea dispensers nasty, sticky, not clean, ran out of napkins, but over stuffed with forks UGH. After waiting and waiting, we finally got our order and left. When we pulled over to eat, I bit into fish taco and first thing I noticed was wilted browning lettuce. The fish was incredibly greasy and by the time we got home, we made friends with the porcelain King n Queen. I think what amazes me the most is how badly the décor looked and how nasty and unclean everything was, yet the place received a 93% in cleanliness and sanitation… like did Helen Keller do the inspection? So, with that, they’re getting 2* simply because of the nice register lady, if it wasn’t for her, you know it would have been less!

YUK!!! GREASE GREASE GREASE everything tasted the same. I don’t know how in the wide wide world of sports can anyone give ANY fast food??? joint 5 stars. The whole place smells like old burnt cooking oil, and the floor was pretty littered with trash. It took about 20 minutes to get our order and to tell you the truth, I wish it never came. We took our order home and by the time we arrived, the bottom of the bag was soaked from the grease. Took one bite of fish and a couple drench fries, and I couldn’t distinguish between the two. The rest got tossed in the OUTSIDE garbage because of the horrible aroma.

I’m going to be honest. I frigging love Long John Silvers. Always have. Folks, this is not an upscale seafood restaurant, but my gosh do these people make some delicious friend seafood. It takes a few minutes, but their battered chicken, fish, and shrimp are amazing. They use the same batter for most everything, but it’s just so darn good that I can’t not love it.
It’s a good thing there is a bit of a drive between Long John Silvers and myself because if it were any closer I would probably be grossly overweight or unhealthy from eating there every week/​day/​meal. As it stands, I probably eat there about 3 – 4 times a year, generally if my wife and I want to walk through downtown Forest City or if we’re traveling west and are passing through around lunch or dinner time.
They’re always friendly there and you get to ring the bell at the end if you enjoyed the meal. I ring that bell everytime like a seafood addicted Quasimodo.
Great job Long John Silvers! You guys own Captain D’s. You own them.
