Very serene State Park, and one of the oldest at that — dating back to 1923. There’s tons of trails, you could get wander for hours and continue seeing new sights. The observation tower is the 2nd highest elevation point in Iowa, making for incredible views. I hear that they released a mountain lion in the park to kill deer however. My friend and I saw it while leaving the state park! What a moment — I’m glad we were in the car!

No no no no no no no! No campground host, a sea of mud, and inadequate electrical system. I finally found some one’s house near the park entrance and she called a «representative of the department of natural resources.» Through this lady, who had a cigarette in the corner of her mouth the entire time, this«representative» claimed the fault was with MY campervan, that there was a short of some kind in my electrical system. Interesting – this happened at no other parks. In disgust I left and I’m still trying to get a refund from Reserve America. What an awful excuse for a campground.
