Definitions Salon

I have gone to Definitions for hair cut and color. Anna has done a great job and Vita is excellent at mixing color. My hair color looks natural and the cut is a cut above. I get lots of compliments and as the cut grows out, it continues to look good. The only reason why I give four stars instead of five, is because sometimes I have waited for my appointment, because others are there during my appointment time. I guess I get impatient because I have other things to do. Overall, I would recommend this place because I think they know what they are doing, and will want you to leave feeling satisfied.

I called this place last minute for a blow dry. They accommodated me within 15 minutes. I walked in and asked for a lip wax, done by Luba. Walked downstairs and she completed the wax and it is definitely one of the more professional wax job I have ever gotten done. I usually turn bright red after and I barely did this time and I think it’s because she takes her time and the process is above par based on what she uses. She also said she does threading, facials and etc. Definitely going to come back for that. Then, I went back upstairs for my blow dry. The dresser said that I needed a hair cut. I knew this since I don’t even remember the last time I have gotten one done and I must say my hair is much shorter but I love the cut and it makes me feel way more mature and that my hair is very much healthier than what it was before. I highly recommend this place!

I was a new customer today and I have to say I am absolutely happy and satisfied. You can tell Anna is in the right business as her passion exudes from start to end. Something I noticed was that everyone that works here was truly happy in their environment, which is rare and says a lot about an establishment.
This is my new place and hopefully for a long time to come.

I had a great first experience at Definitions. I got a haircut and keratin straightening treatment with the 20% off first-​time discount. Anna was my stylist and I’m thrilled with the results! As I told her, I can’t believe I waited so long to do the keratin treatment (it’s pretty life changing if you’re used to blow drying & flat ironing your hair everyday). Enza and Vita were super nice, too, and I definitely felt welcomed here. I’ve already recommended this salon to friends and family.

I’ve been a client of Anna the owner of Definitions for the last 12 years. She is the only person that touches my hair! I absolutely love the service Anna and her staff provide if I could give her 10 stars I would. It’s always a pleasure to visit the salon. Book your appointment you won’t regret it!

My first experience at Definitions Salon today was spectacular ! Anna was my stylist and she took the time to discuss my desired style with me and did an impeccable job cutting my hair. I came to her with a disaster and she turned it to gold !! The entire staff is friendly and kind and they all made me feel very welcome and added to the ambience of my haircut experience. They even made me a cup of coffee to enjoy during my hair cut. I would recommend this salon and Anna to anyone that wants a classy and outstanding hair cut !! This will be my new salon no doubt about it !!

Went here because I’m a customer of Vita’s. Travel from the Bronx for her haircuts. The salon is very nice and everyone is friendly. I was very satisfied with my visit.

Definitions: the best place to cut it up !
I have been coming to definitions for years. I wish I could give this crew a million more stars ! I have always had my haircut done by Anna and she is absolutely amazing! I come all the way from Connecticut just to get cut. Yes that’s right with a million salons I only choose to be cut by my one and only! I have never left unsatisfied and usually can’t wait to jump out of the chair and play with my new hairstyle ! If your passing by or booking an appointment Anna is the person to ask for. You can usually see her in the window with her super fierce fiery red hair color. I usually walk in and just leave it to her but when I do have my own hairstyling moments she always gives me what I want but even BETTER, BOLDER, and more FIRCE than I can imagine. I can guarantee once you have been styled by this styling goddess you will never go anywhere else !

Visited the place cause I needed a blow dry. My mother lives around the area and I said hey let me give this place a try. I had expectation that the prices would be over the roof but they weren’t. The lady that washed my hair was amazing so gentle yet got all the right spots. Anna helped me with my blow dry. I just recently went to blonde and she informed me of the condition of my hair and recommend some amazing products for my hair. I have yet to use them, but she’s reassured that I won’t regret them. While she blow dried my hair she made sure that the way she was doing it was meeting my expectations which is great. She did as well give a small consultation about what color I should do once it’s time to do a touch up that would compliment my features with out having to use bleach. She surely knows what she talking about. I will be Definately visiting her for my retouch and once that’s done ill Definately will repost about my experience after she’s done so.

Filippo took wonderful care of my hair, while Luba did a great job with my nails. And both were lovely to talk to, as well as Enza and the owner Anna.
I felt beautiful, pampered and welcome since the very first moment, I have never experienced such warmth and care in a salon before. Feels like home, I’ll definitely be back very soon!

i am always rushing around and one day i just happened to pass it and figured i would get a quick trim. i walked in and felt a very friendly yet proffesional vibe in the salon. i got my trim and she told me everything that i should know about my hair (what coloring to use, what hairspray to use, ect). really great place. I made an appointment at this salon to get my hair done for my wedding. I wanted pin curls, which is time consuming but not entirely difficult. I came approximately five hours before the wedding to do this, since the lady that would be doing my hair said it would take about two or three hours. I was willing to be patient and pay a lot of money, trusting that this woman was not lying when she said she had experience doing pin curls. After about an hour of waiting for a conversation to end with a friend of theirs, my hair was put into pins and my head was under the hood dryer for about three hours. There were no protective ear muffs. My skin was burning, the only solution was to wait it out until the burning would stop outside of the hood, and I would be put under it again. After telling them that I was running out of time, I really had to be going home, the woman said my hair was still wet, the gel was not working, and they would have to use a regular curling iron. She literally just curled parts of my hair (something I could have easily done myself at home) and sent me me away — about an hour late and with ordinary hair. Really disappointing considering they knew what a special occasion this was.
