this food is out of this world, omg ordered this for lunch at work, this food is so fresh and well put together, i don’t know how u can be disappointed by this place !!!

Ordered delivery. My boyfriend and I got the cactus and steak as well as chorizo chimichangas. The steak and cactus was delicious but a little too saucy, while the chimichangas were absolutely perfect. They were perfectly fried and the filling was amazing. I would order again for the chimichangas alone, but I am excited to try other menu options as well.

Ahhh… If only giving 1 star could absorb some of my misery following my delivery order from El Rey. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical to order given the mixed reviews on here and Grubhub, but I gave in out of sheer hunger and desperation for mexican food during my stay in NY. As a native Californian, I value good ass Mexican cuisine (at a good price!). Here in NY, decent mexican food that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg seems hard to come by. Welp… I learnt today, I learnt the damn hard way on this one. Spent 4 days making trips paying homage to the porcelain throne if you know what I mean. Not to mention the bistec burrito that I ordered came with American cheese (whoooo does this, yo?!). AND… at the very bottom of my burrito was a long strand of hair. Disgust. I cannot type this without feeling gorged by not only the taste of that burrito but also the effects it had on my insides. I will never order from here again. I thought Forest Hills had some of the best food in Queens? I stand corrected.

I’ve ordered for delivery twice. The first time it took an hour and a half to arrive, and the order was not packed well with sauce spilled all into bag. The food was so delicious that I decided to give it another try. The second order took 50 minutes, not within the estimated 35 – 45 minutes but better than the first time. Same delivery guy, seems nice and friendly. Now for the food– The first order was guac and chips, tacos al pastor, steak tacos, beef empanadas, the pernil dinner special, and tres leches cake. The cake was served wet style, and spilled all over everything in the bag. Very messy and very annoying. The pernil was soo delicious, moist and flavorful. Empanadas were good, good sauces. Tacos were good, preferred the al pastor to the steak. Very very good guac, very fresh and homemade. The second order was carnitas quesadilla, Cuban sandwich, al pastor tacos again, guac again, and chocolate cake hoping for a cleaner and drier delivery, which it was. All the food was great, and I will be ordering from them again.

My fiancé and I order delivery from here almost everyday and I get one order of the tacos with guacamole and It fills me up completely I can say that this is probably one of the best tacos I’ve ever had and trust me I’ve tried many different kinds of Mexican cuisine restaurants. This place definitely needs many more business; I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and actually coming in and dining in sometime. Delivery is also quick and free! Prices are also very affordable and definitely worth it!

Overall the food could be better if they just use less salt. I ordered the enchiladas and while they looked great they were extremely salty. The food (specifically the meats) is not prepared to order, it is pre-​cooked as it was explained to me by the owner when I asked them to use less salt. I’ve ordered from them a few times and everytime it’s the same; Salty food.

My daughters had one taco each a chicken n a beef! Delish!!! And my husband had some trio fajitas platter and it was so damn amazing!!! D guacamole was super! Over all had an amazing time at this place! Recommend it 100%, since service was also on point!

I have ordered delivery from here, and every time it has been great. I have done tacos and sopes twice, both times great. The toungue tacos are shredded and great.
I would highly recommend.

The tacos are really good at this place but let me explain why I don’t give it 4 or 5 stars. I always order from this place on grubhub and I’ve never had a problem with them until now. I’ve had the tacos and also the burritos. The tacos taste really really good and authentic however thanks to the delivery man calling my phone like he was a judge and I just committed a murder I will no longer be ordering from this place unless they change him or send me someone else. He called my phone questioning me about my address when I’ve clearly ordered more than 1 time from this place and clearly I spoke to no one because my address is recorded on grubhub. He kept yelling at me without letting me talk asking about the street like I wrote it wrong… Before I can get a word out of my mouth he yelled and hung up. But it doesn’t end here! the KING of all delivery guys shows up and my door with an attitude and when I told him not to talk to me ever in that tone he dismissed me like a peasant. Well he can take his little throne to hell because I will no longer require his highness to deliver ish to my house oh and out of all the times my tacos came to my house all sloppy so he clearly needs a lesson on customer service– The End

I ordered delivery and wasn’t disappointed. I ordered their daily special — bacalao, which came with a side of beans. Although I’m no expert. i really liked it. I also ordered their guacamole– they make it fresh with big chunks of cilantro and onions– so good!

Great authentic Mexican food, they have a little bit of everything. Lengua tacos, Pernil platters, whatever you’re looking for — they have it, and it’s probably good. I’ve tried their tacos, their Cemita’s, and haven’t disliked anything yet
The food comes out quickly, the place is pretty simple/​clean and the prices are solid. Probably the best Mexican in a 5 mile radius, not counting taco trucks.

I dont understand every single time my food comes different FROM what i orderd whyyyyyyy what’s so hard I’ve tried Spanish and English it’s so sad the food is soooo good but the service freaking sucks man.

Have been waiting for my food an hour now. Called to check the status and the guy on the phone kept saying nonsensical stuff about the delivery guy. Told me it would be another 20 minutes before I received my order. If I even get it at that point, I will have waited nearly an hour and a half for my food.
****My food came 15 minutes later and was on point. Soft shell steak and carnitas tacos were delicious. Just don’t get how they can charge .75 for tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream on them. Isn’t that standard? Cesar salad was a normal salad; I asked them to put tomatoes and cucumbers in it, and they did. Papaya smoothie was fantastic.

Came here for lunch. The tacos are pretty good. I had the tacos al pastor and carnitas. The meat was a little dry though. Lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream is an extra 75cents per taco. I thought it would be included in the price. It helped mask the dry meat.
Also had a beef empanada and it was good! So crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Boyfriend got the daily special — pernil that came with rice and beans and maduros. It was a lot of food for $ 7. They had a few other daily specials that I would def like to try out.
Overall it was a good dining experience. Food tasted pretty good and not too pricey. We would def come back!

Wow totally disappointed, I only liked my chicken soft taco, which was barely stuffed. As for the taco al pastor and beef taco. All they did was add greasy over fried beef with cilantro as you can see from my picture. I was confused was this dog food or Mexican, what shitty service and lack of passion. This place will not last. Oh p. s. the Chinese taco across the street yes taco king taste better.

I live around the area and noticed the restaurant before just didn’t think about trying it really. One day I decided to try the tacos since I was in the taco mood. I ordered 2 carnitas and 2 chicken tacos. The tacos were actually really good and authentic Mexican. The cilantro and tomato were really fresh. Although both tacos were really good, I must say, the carnitas were definitely the best. Very juicy and flavorful! Very yummy! Will definitely order again!
P. S. The delivery time wasn’t long at all. (And it was snowing!)

First: If you are not into Authentic dirty bodega street cart Mexican/​spanish then don’t waste your time.
I have a love/​hate relationship with this place. The problem is it is never consistent. One day it’s just ok and on other days it’s the best Mexican I ever had in my life.
Bisteck Flauta (fried steak tacos) is my favorite at the moment. The best deal and my go to is any Burrito bowl. Also the amount of Guacamole n chips you get in an order is awesome.
All the Taco’s/Quesadillas are the «street meat» style you find all over Brooklyn and Queens.
I live to far for delivery but never had any problems with ordering over phone or online.

I guess reading the reviews it was a hit or miss thing. We ordered 4 each of hard and soft chicken tacos, 2 chicken burritos, a order of chips and guacamole. A diet Pepsi and 2 snapples for 55 bucks.
I was told 45 on the phone when I asked for a total. As I was ordering the lady was taking my order and talking to someone else at the same time. She asked me to repeat myself a few times cause she wasn’t paying attention. She apologized.
I get my order close to an hour of ordering. Take my first bite of the hard taco and was hit with an intense salty mess. The chicken was extremely dry also. Looks good but looks are deceiving! The good things were my diet Pepsi, snapples and chips n guacamole were amazing! Would I order again? NOPE! Not ever! Huge disappointment since I was craving some authentic cuisine. Yuck.
