Nice little coffee shop. Been in the ‘hood for a year and I just noticed it today. Had the Eggs-over easy platter. It came out super fast, was super yummy and the staff was super friendly. Also quite inexpensive too. I would definitely go back.

Good for breakfast sandwiches. Terrible for lunch sandwiches. The sandwich meat comes from a plastic bag. Would rather go to Subway…

It is really easy to blow right past Friend’s Coffee Shop if you are driving there as the prior road is 78 Cres(what the heck kind of street name is that?) which has no address affixed to any building or structure of any kind. Parking was plentiful for a Saturday morning on and off Queens Blvd, so my only challenge was calculating the amount of time I would be sitting to enjoy my breakfast. I really dislike Muni meters to such a high level. I feel like I am getting ripped off, how can they not accept a dollar bill? What if I do not use up my entire stub, should I not be able to refund the remaining balance? Lastly, they are a total eyesore. wannabe mailbox looking thingies… Grrrrr…, but I digress. Two eggs over easy, sausage and hash browns for roughly $ 4.75 would normally be cause for concern as that price seems too low to deliver a quality breakfast with the quality of ingredients necessary.(hashtag Waffle House) Wrong-amundo. The potatoes used to make the hash browns were fluffy, not dense and so flavorful, toss in were some diced green peppers. Yum! I went with the sausage as my meat option which unfortunately was a patty, as opposed to a link which remains my preferred packaging. The sausage was not greasy and tasted well enough. Gosh a link or links really would have been great, so I will go with the bacon next time The over easy eggs had that nice golden brown hue and were runny yet not slimy, cooked absolutely perfectly. Lunch with Mom ran $ 11.25 not including the tip. You can eat for that price for one person at many diners. Not the most aesthetically pleasing place I have been to, but when it comes to good eats for a bargain price, Friend’s nailed it.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve only tried their breakfast sandwiches. But this is hands-down my favorite place to get a bacon egg & cheese along my typical morning route. It’s a hearty, gooey(but not messy!) meal that’s fairly cheap and super satisfying. I’m a little bummed that it’s cash only, because that’s not how I roll, but the lady at the cash register is always so nice, so I don’t get too upset about it.

Food Taste: 1.5÷5 Service: 2⁄5 Price: 1⁄5 Atmosphere: 2⁄5 Poor management. Over priced. $ 2.95 for regular home fries? You got to be kidding me. I took my business to Hot Bialys half a block away. Greed never pays. You cheat your customer once, you loose that business for life. Suggestion: Post all prices and get organized. Treat your customer right and you will stay in business. Update: May 7, 2013 No matter how much I hate one venue I will give it a second try cause it may have gotten better. So, today I went back to this place(my heart said no but I did anyway). Looked at the menu and order a bagel with two eggs on the side. Menu price was $ 2.50(needless to say $.25 more compare to competitor). I was charged $ 3 for it because I had the eggs on the side and not as a sandwich. I showed my pissed off face and told them this is the last time I ever walk through this doors. My colleague who witnessed this ordeal also said he will try the other venue next time. Btw, they added too much salt and pepper. Everybody is health cautious these days so why shops or restaurant still does this is beyond me.

Absolutely love this place! The staff here is very friendly and despite the long lines at around 7 – 9 in the morning, they are very efficient and quick with the orders. Prices are also very reasonable. You can get a breakfast meal for around 6 dollars and be very satisfied. I haven’t tried anything else but the breakfast orders but the breakfast platters here are pretty good. French toast is absolutely delicious and they make my bacon/eggs and home fries the way I like them. YUM! I also tried their breakfast sandwiches and they are also pretty good. This place is an absolute-must-try!

About twelve seats at the counter; no tv, no wi-fi. Friendly service. Someone commented about the french toast — I was not impressed. Decent coffee. Prices are reasonable. I went back four or five times and they knew my regular breakfast order by my third visit. I went with my normal bacon and eggs, hash browns, toast, no complaints and affordable at $ 5.50.

Friends Coffee Shop is simply amazing, it’s like your companion as soon as you get off the train station, especially where you can rarely find any to-go food places on the boulevard that specializes in sandwich-making. The staff here, for the most part, is nice, if you catch them on their good days. They open very early and closes at around 4:30. Very accurate on orders, love getting the breakfast sandwiches here, especially the ham, 2 eggs & cheese rolls. Delish.

Eat here for lunch once in a while, usually when it rains as it’s a short walk from my office. Staff is jovial and prices are reasonable. I don’t venture too far on the menu. Breakfast is good. My favorite is the french toast with cinnamon which I usually get for lunch. Turkey burgers are solid, but I try to stay away from anything with cheese. I don’t know what it is(maybe not refrigerated properly?), but it never agrees with me so I haven’t ordered it on anything in over a year. Occasionally order the special. Pork with rice and beans is halfway decent, although pork can be a little fatty. Big portion for $ 7.50 which includes a can of soda or bottle of water They have a few tables in the back and a table counter, but I think I have eaten inside once in my 5+ years of coming here. If you work in the area I’m sure you have been. Not one of my top choices.

Traditional NYC diner atmosphere with quick service, great prices, and convenient location. I recommend a breakfast sandwich, grilled cheese deluxe, or the daily special. Cash only, but you will be out for less than $ 8-$ 10 guaranteed.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch in the area. This hole-in-the-wall establishment offers large portions, served up fast and at great prices. Even at their busiest, they manage to keep the line moving and put food into peoples’ hands with speed and efficiency. There’s not much in the way of seating other than a counter across from the grill but most people get their orders to go or delivered. Their turkey burgers are big and delicious. I’m also a fan of their chicken wrap and chicken souvlaki.
