New to the neighborhood and needed a dental cleaning. And so began the arduous task of finding a skilled and trustworthy dentist in this area. One place I called had great reviews but wouldn’t schedule just a cleaning and insisted I pay $ 350 for an examination and x-​rays as well. I didn’t need all that. Another place had a Groupon for $ 39 but a lot people said they kept trying to sell them things they didn’t need while in the chair. I wanted to avoid feeling victimized in the dental chair as much as possible. So after doing some more research, I decided to go with Dr. Mathe even though I was still a bit skeptical because there weren’t as many reviews for him, but all the ones I saw said great things, so… The verdict: I could not be happier. I have never gone to the dentist and experienced no pain during a cleaning — it’s a miracle. He was extremely thorough — explained everything he was doing, gave me a great cleaning, and also gave me all the latest research info on everything from toothpaste to how the acidity in the foods we eat has changed because of farming and how that impacts our enamel — AMAZING. His receptionist and assistant were so kind and sweet, and his price was extremely reasonable. There were no sales pitches, no surprise work that needed to be done, and he said see you in six months for your next cleaning. Great and honest man! I can see why the other reviewers gave him 5 stars. He deserves every single one. I have found my new dentist!

Simply the best service and care. We have moved to Connecticut yet we drive to Queens for dental appointments. Dr. Mathe and his staff are a rarity in today’s world. Patience from a dentist is hard to find now that every dentist has multiple bookings and they jump from treatment room to treatment room. Dr Mathe has 3 stations set up but he only works with one patient at a time. Maybe they will prep the next patient in the next room but no back and forth.
I have kids. One, which was terrified of the dentist, now goes without issues to Dr. Mathe. Previously he was afraid to open his mouth to other dentists. Dr. Mathe explains and talks to kids at their level and makes it a positive experience and is therefore able to actually do a proper cleaning and treatment.
Give Dr. Mathe a try and you wont want to move so far away that you can’t drive back for appointments. We have all new doctors at our new home but we kept our Dentist the same. Love love love this man and his staff!!!

Simply the best dentist I have ever visited. He is patient, caring, and a rarity among doctors nowadays! Love him!
