Excellent, delicious, homestyle Greek cuisine. Very attentive and truly friendly and caring service. Pleasant, quaint setting in a nice residential community. Left entirely satisfied and very happy. Worth the trip and I’ll be glad to return.

Local new place within walking distance. Don’t know why I waited so long to try it out but now that I have I cant wait to come back. Literally everything on the menu is delicious. The fries and onion rings are freshly made and the wraps are fresh and yummy. They also deliver. Can’t wait to come back or order delivery.

Decided to skip Egyptian shwarma and go for Greek souvlaki. Boy what a splendid choice at Nick’s! The owner and his parents and grandparents were in the restaurant business and it shows. Great family atmosphere and tasty dishes that didn’t disappoint. The stuffed mushrooms were a delight –with a lingering tasty feeling. You have to get the grilled veg with the lamb souvlaki.

Looking for good Greek food in Forest Hills, look no further. Located right on Metro(where street parking is usually plentiful) Nicks serves Greek food(along with some American favorites). The place is small, but the good and the food is delicious. I recommend trying their dips, their Nicks pick, and the lemon chicken soup.

I am writing this review as I sit at the table in the restaurant. WOWW!!! I don’t think I’ve ever had such delicious Greek food in my life. My husband got the gyro dinner platter with rice pilaf and I got the chicken souvlaki platter with lemon potatoes… The food is just out of this world. It’s so traditional, everything is handmade. The hummus for starters is so fresh and you can feel the chick peas crunch in your mouth. Also the tzatziki sauce is AMAZING!!! They also give a side salad with the dinner specials. Delicious delicious delicious. If you happen to be in the area you should stop by. If not you should make your way out here asap. Enjoy. We will definitely be coming back here. Thank you for the amazing service and polite staff

After a trip to the pet shop down the block, A and I along with our two new fur babies stopped in at Nick’s Bistro to grab a quick bite al fresco as it was such a nice afternoon. They accommodated our having pups with us and sat us at the end of the outdoor dining area(in case of other diners, though there were none. More on that later.) I ordered the stuffed zucchini special which was described as «how grandma made it»; a gigantic zucchini stuffed with spiced meats and rice with a side of lemon mashed potatoes. A got the Nick’s burger. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was pretty good. Good wines by the glass surprise me as many places sell subpar wine that’s been open too long so it’s flat and sour. Not so here! Minutes into our meal, our pups decided they’ve had it with waiting under the table for us and started howling and pulling at their leash(anyone know of a good obedience school?). Plus, the nice afternoon turned into a chilly, breezy evening and we were freezing! No wonder no one sat outside! I went to the bathroom and the inside was very warm and cozy. So we asked for them to wrap our meal to go and they again accommodated us very nicely and quickly. Good food, good service; we’ll be back petless to have a full meal here again soon!

We’re back at Nicks Bistro. One of our favorite places to eat in queens. I’m getting the shrimp cocktail and the Athenian Filet(sliced filet mignon in a brown feta cheese sauce.). I usually get their fabulous Black Linguini w/shrimp, mussels, clams in a delicious tomato sauce — but this evening I’m trying something new. My hubby is getting his usual favorite: Lemon Ouzo Chicken. He loves that! I love the hummus w/black eyed peas & pita that they put on the table as you peruse the menu. The Athenian Filet was an excellent choice! The filet mignon was cooked exactly as I ordered it and who knew feta & steak paired so well together! Delicious! As I stated in my previous review, the servers are very attentive, informative & welcoming. They’ve been working here quite a few years — Alfred, one of the partners is a very nice guy & I’m sure he’s an excellent boss! They’re busy as they usually are & Alfred is checking on customers, pouring water — very involved !

I rarely write reviews on the same day I visit a restaurant, but I can’t stop thinking about the amazing dinner I had tonight with my friends. Nick’s is a great place to eat if you are in the mood for a good meal with great service. Why should I go to Astoria when I can go to Forest Hills for awesome Greek food? Everyone enjoyed their food including the eggplant dip/pita appetizer, spinach pie, filet mignon kebab, chicken kebab, ribeye and quinoa burger. They also have a delicious red sangria and you must save room for their Greek cannoli dessert. We even ordered an extra cannoli to go! Seriously, I’m stuffed and I can’t wait to go back!

We had a gift card from a friend to Nick’s Bistro and decided to try them out on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty packed but luckily we were able to be seated right away. There was a rowdy huge party of probably 15 people behind our table. The only issue with that was that we felt that the waitstaff were more attentive to them. The complimentary hummus and pita bread was good. The hummus was nice and garlicky. For starters, we ordered Keftedes(home made cyprian greek meat balls) and the chicken noodle soup. They took forever to come(probably because the kitchen was focused more on making the food for the huge party). We waited 20 minutes(part of the order was soup… if anything, just bring out the soup first) and some other person who wasn’t our waiter, brought out the soup and spilled it on my boot! He apologized but what didn’t seem as sincere was that after apologizing, he said that«he was only trying to help out since they were really busy» and that to me is not an apology but more of an excuse. Luckily the hot soup didn’t ruin my shoes and was just wiped off(I’m glad that it was only my boot and not my hands or any other parts of my body). Whatever was left of the soup tasted good… nice and homey. There were tons of noodles, carrots, and celery. The broth had great flavor. The meatballs were decent. Not sure if they are supposed to be super charred on the outside but tasted ok. Definitely missing something(needed more sauce or even a side of yogurt sauce and more seasoning). The restaurant was pretty much gone except the big party behind us and another couple. The rest of our food came out right before the huge party got their food(which was probably another 20 minutes after we got our appetizers). For our entrees, we ordered the Filet Of Sole(broiled filet of sole with a white wine, garlic, butter sauce) and the gyro platter. The fish was cooked good but lacked in seasoning(tasted as if there was no salt or pepper… only slightly buttery and very little wine flavor.) The side was grilled vegetables(medley of zucchini, yellow squash, and roasted red peppers). The veggies tasted good but lacked of any seasoning. The gyro platter was just alright as well. It didn’t really stand out and the meat didn’t taste very flavorful(tasted like they cooked the gyro without seasoning it). We have tasted better gyro meat from food trucks. After we paid the check, we were the 2nd to last tables to leave. The last being the huge rowdy party. I think the guy who spilled the soup on me was Nick, the owner of the place(I’m pretty sure I heard someone calling him Nick). Well as we were leaving, he was talking to the huge group, turned to us and said something along the lines of «yeah sorry about your shoes» and then proceeded to continue talking to that party. This just seemed so half assed and not genuine. He might as well not have apologized for spilling soup on me. I wasn’t expecting it but the least he could have done was take the soup off the check, which 1⁄5 of the soup was spilled on me, the floor, and on the table. We were not even offered a new bowl of soup! We don’t ask for handouts but taking the soup off the check would have been a good gesture on their part to prove their sincerity in making that mistake of spilling soup on someone and to make a customer feel as if you are trying to right a wrong. Overall, the food was ok but we wouldn’t go back again.

We initially came here for dinner because we had a coupon. Unfortunately, we did not read the fine print, and we were unable to use it on that particular night(we went on a Friday). Luckily, we enjoyed our dinner so much that we weren’t upset about it, and we can’t wait until we have time to go again. They do provide complimentary pita and hummus. Even so, we ordered their spread appetizer of hummus, baba ghanoush, and yogurt dip. The hummus had a grainier and thicker texture than I prefer. It was decent to some of the other places I have tried in the area. We both ordered a chicken shwarma which was very good! The food came out within a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were. The service was friendly and attentive. It’s a low-key atmosphere but a nice place to have dinner. The only con to the restaurant is how tight the tables/seating are.

So sad but i have to lower my rating… Was so excited to come for dinner again the other day as I had the best mousaka here last time. This time I decided to try their fish, ordered their filet of sole with crabmeat stuffing, at $ 26 i was not impressed at all. The crabmeat stuffing has a strange sour taste and they used imitation crab. For $ 26 I feel like they should be using real crab meat, the sole was really dry too and did not taste fresh… Very disappointed.

This is such a cute and cozy restaurant. Great Greek option in Forest Hills. We were seated right away and noticed how it was intimate and comfortable, not loud and obnoxious. Can definitely carry a normal conversation and have great food. They serve complimentary hummus and bean dip which was delicious and offer a variety of whole wheat and regular pita bread. We ordered the tzatziki and eggplant dip for $ 8.50 and keftda(meatballs) for appetizers. DELICIOUS. I highly recommend their dips — it also comes with the same variety of pita bread. Them meatballs… oh my goodness. So flavorful, very fresh and just a burst of Mediterranean goodness. Highly recommend the keftda. There’s a total of 7 meatballs for this order so it’s definitely a good sharing dish. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter with a side of spinach rice(which was recommended to me over the pilaf) and it was great! It’s a lot of food so it’s a meal worth taking it to go so you can have this goodness for lunch the next day. The chicken was cut in chunks and grilled to perfection — not too dry and lots of flavor. I like spinach so the spinach rice was a great complement to the chicken. The platter comes with more pita bread, a bit of salad and an additional side salad(separate bowl). Overall, Nick’s is now my go-to when I want Greek food in the area. The staff is very nice and attentive, and provide great service. Lots of different dishes to try and definitely interested in their brunch.

Never heard of Nick’s, but was in the area and walked by. The place was completely empty, but we decided to give it a try. Service was excellent, but the real winner here is the food. I had the steak salad which we DELICIOUS with blue cheese and candied nuts. Also, the wines are $ 6, so I ordered their Pinot Noir and it was delicious. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious food. Oh, and after we sat the place filled up quick, so it’s definitely a known place to eat at for good food.

Nick’s Bistro is neighborhood gem! Delicious Greek food that even satisfies the taste buds of even the most picky diners. I dined here on a Saturday evening with a large group of friends for a birthday celebration. My group was seated promptly upon arrival and unfortunately, some of my guests decided tell me, literally, last minute that they wanted to show up… After speaking to the staff, they were actually understanding and accommodating to us. Thank you Alfred and staff!!! Food! Our group was presented with complimentary warm, grilled pitas with hummus and a fresh black eyed peas dip. I really enjoyed it! For appetizer, I ordered the Mediterranean Grilled Octopus. It was quite delicious! I loved that it was not greasy at all compared to others. Each piece was mouth sized, super tender, and slightly charred. It was bedded on a small salad. My neighboring guests and I really loved it. I really wish there was more! For entrees, I had a taste of the Chicken/Pork Souvlaki, Colorado Lamb Chops, and the Black Linguini. Souvlaki: Whether you get the chicken or pork souvlaki, you made a great choice! Souvlaki comes with many jumbo pieces of meat, grilled pitas(yes, again!), a side salad, and another side — lemon potatoes or rice. Each piece of meat was juicy and my knife was able to just slice into smaller pieces without much effort! It was nicely seasoned and tastes smokey! Must-order! Colorado Lamb Chops come with four beautifully grilled lamb chops and a side. They are very well seasoned with salt and spices. Not to mention, they were so tender and not gamey as I thought they would be. This quite a popular dish among the guys. Black Linguini. This pasta dish was pretty flavorful with all the fresh seafood in it — two jumbo prawns, scallops, mussels, and squid rings. I love the flavor of the seafood infused into the red sauce. I thought the portion of pasta was not enough. The black linguini was quite interesting and this is my second time having it. However, aside from its harder texture and color, I am actually not too sure what else is different from the normal linguini. This is something that I will research about! Sangria. Simply delicious. Obviously, very well made. Red wine was infused with the fresh fruits. It was so good that I just kept drinking and drinking… and it slowly creeped up on me. Before I even knew it, my face was as red as my drink! Service was phenomenal! Shout out to Alfred! I made reservations about a week prior using Unilocal SeatMe. I asked for tables on the right side of the restaurant with the benches. I sincerely appreciate a phone call that I got from Alfred who simply wants to clarify which part of the restaurant I meant. I liked that he just simply asked me rather than just assuming. Thank you very much for being so accommodating!!!
