Terrible customer service, old/spoiled products. These people should not even be in food business!!!

This is my spot for fruit and vegetables. It is conveniently located in a shopping area; selection, quality, and prices are great! A bit too much bustling but that’s what gives this market a certain charm. Also love their selection of dairy products. They should place a photo of their produce: impressive!

Another fruit stand/mini supermarket store with reasonable prices for vegetables and fruits. Their selection isnt that big but the place stays packed especially during the evenings. This is my go to spot when I need to pick up a few items.

The store spills out onto the street with almost dirt cheap fresh fruit and veggies. From the front it’s an overwhelming bounty of fresh produce that continues with all the russian, uzbek, bukharian, georgian, armenian, etc staples that line refrigerated and frozen isles of RnM. The dried fruits as well as fresh breads are of particular interest. These are really imported from central asia, and though some are better than others, these dry fruits and nuts are dried in the sun and nothing else. There is also plenty of israeli imports and a kosher butcher on site.

This is your standard Bukharian supermarket in the heart of Forest Hills. They prices are very competitive compared to Key Food, Associated, and Met Food. They charge 3.69LB for Glatt Kosher chicken breast, similar to the price for Perdue chicken. Yet their raw chicken, as well as all their lamb, beef, and turkey, are free of hormones and illnesses and according to Glatt Kosher standards the animal was raised safely. After watching Food Inc., I am proud to know the meat I buy at this shop is safe to eat. Their produce section is very reasonable as well. They sell raspberries and blueberries for 0.99 to 1.49 a box. There are two lines that each lead to 3 registers that move very fast. I would definitely reccomend this place.

It’s more like a large grocery store than a supermarket. Most of the produce is stocked outside. Inside, there’s a butcher station and a station for cakes and smoked salmon. The frozen foods section stocks a good selection of pierogi, varenki and pastry sheets. Many of the products on offer have only russian printed on the packages. They stock kasha and other common eastern european foods. There’s fresh flat bread in large piles. Customers seem to be mostly locals. It can be chaotic and disorganised. Prices are competitive for the area.

Unfortunately it looks like they’ve been taken over and transformed into a Glatt Kosher supermarket.

Some unique offerings that I appreciate from Romanoffs: Chocolates with vodka filled centers(in the candy bins – sold based on their weight but only a couple will suffice :) Plain and/or Strawberry Yo-goat(if the name doesn’t give it away – yogurt made from goat’s milk)
