Don Juan has been my solid ‘go to’ for tacos on Jonesboro for over a year now and what’s not to like? Still priced at $.99, they offer a small but representative assortment of tacos(the asada is my favorite) and their other menu offerings are tasty as well. As a change of pace, their hamburger is pretty darn good too! For added convenience, it’s also the only taco place on that stretch of Jonesboro with a drive through. Don Juan appears to be here to stay and that, my friend, is a very good thing.

Unilocal defines a 2 star review as «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Which is spot on for this place. Bland, typical Mexican food. They do have barbacoa, carnitas, lengua etc. tacos, so it’s not completely Americanized Mexican food. The big sign will grab your attention but if you want flavorful Mexican food, go a couple of doors down to El Rio Grande just south of this place. Much better but it’s almost invisible.

Don Juan is a stellar taco place! Cheap, good eats and lots of selection. We stopped in on our way to a little hike at the Reynold’s Nature Preserve. A U-turn was also involved. «What? $.99 Tacos? TURNAROUND!» It was worth the detour. Don Juan also offers breakfast foods and other non-taco fare like burritos, tamales etc. I plan on hitting up this place often! YUM!

I recently discovered this place when me and Kay T. were just looking for some evening munchies before having cocktails… as we were riding by all I saw was 99 cent tacos and we did a u turn to try to try this place out. This used to be a Wendy’s and they utilize the fact that there was already a drive thru set up, and they use it. It’s nice and festive when you walk in, and the staff is really nice. Kinda like they appreciate your business nice…(which to me is starting to become rare…) They dont really have an ala carte menu, but I am pretty sure you can order it that way. They have mostly combos that you can order, and best of all in my opinion 99 cent tacos! You can get them any way –Al Pastor style with the corn tortilla, flour tortilla, hard shell, just cilantro and onion(my personal favorite), or with any other additions. They have everything on the menu that you would get in a traditional Mexican restaurant. I always see Mexicans, Latinos, Central Americans, ect coming here to eat, so that was pretty much a signal that the food is really good. They have a nice variety of Mexican sodas, horchatas, and ect. There is also a salsa bar. The dining room is really nice(still retained some of the old booth that came with the Wendy’s), and the bathrooms are really, really clean. If you are ever on the Southside and need a snack this is a really cool, reasonably priced place to stop and eat. They also take credit cards.
