Freebie LOVES this park. It’s got a pretty good group of dogs and owners. Just about everyone I’ve met keeps close tabs on their dogs(permits or not). As others have mentioned, it’s covered with mulch and Freebie and her friends love to dig holes and then lay in the cool spots. There is some shade around the edges of the park, and several benches and chairs. Poop bags are provided which is a big relief because I always find myself unprepared in that department. The only disappointment really has to do with my dog more than the park. Their fountain doesn’t always drain correctly, and it sometime overfills and gets soggy and muddy around the fountain. Freebie’s been known lay down in the slop with her head in the bowl — so you can imagine the state of my car after the trip back home.

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Forest Park, IL
Forest Park’s dog park, just north of I-290, is completely fenced in and covered with mulch. Suzy Greenberg really enjoys it when there aren’t too many big dogs around. Technically you are supposed to get a yearly permit from the village for $ 10, but I’ve never seen them come in and check. I have, however, been playing with my dog in the park and gotten a parking ticket for not paying the meter. The meters and permits go to the upkeep of the park, so that’s a good reason to go along with the small fees. It gets a little hot in the summer as there is no shade, and the mulch turns into a sheet of ice in mid-winter, but it’s a decent park over all. Just watch out for the dogs that seem a little afraid or angry and go with your instincts. Owners don’t always realize their dog isn’t socialized or comfortable at the park and I have seen fights. I leave rather than take the chance.
