The employees are amazing. I give them a lot of credit for them to be able to work late in the Night and handle the wild shenanigans that happens nightly especially during the summers. Subs and burgers are good but the lowkey hidden gem is the shrimp dinner. All in all its a good place that I like to go to.

I have been eating sub tender for my entire life. Good late night food. The workers there put up with so much on a nightly basis due to the drunk crowd, but continue to deliver good, honest business. ps: i love you sub t.

Amazing subs. Always go for the depth charge. Bread is soft, the meat seems fresh. The sandwiches are large and fairly priced. Go here instead of jimmy johns. Get a better sandwich, better price and support a local business.

Food is great and always has been, but the customer service is horrible. They made the wrong sandwich and in front of all the customers argued with me and told me I ordered it wrong. They made me a new sandwich but i dont know why he couldnt have just apologized for getting it wrong. He blamed me for them getting it wrong. I’ve been eating here for 15 years and this was the first time I’ve ever considered never going back.

This place has been a quick dinner staple since I came to FoPo in ’99. It’s inexpensive, greasy, steak fry yumminess that you would expect from a Chicago joint known for sandwiches. A regular sandwich is about $ 4 and is just enough to get full. Layering of meats is perfect and for some reason I just love their bread. It’s always soft and tastes great with all the meat combinations. I love the fries though so I always end up getting some even when I don’t need them. Service is pretty quick with a call up order system known to Chicago places. Parking lot is tough to get out of, especially when there is traffic on Des Plaines or Washington.

The subs a great. The burgers are good. The milkshakes are good. The salads a good BUTTHEGYROISMYFAVORITE! The load the gyro with meat, I mean load it! Omg it’s delicious. I always get full after I have a meal from submarine tender. The people at the front desk are usually amazing even when I’ve been in there well after 1am. This is a great place to eat any time of day, but my favorite after party restaurant LOL

Simply, magical submarine sammiches! Soft bread, sublime layering of meats and cheese and an ample offering of shredded veggies. This shit is goooooood, son! Different from that Subway crap or those sub sandwiches bought in grocery stores. The meats are fresh, they are weighed, then layered onto your sub. Oh man, that French bread. For a run-of-the-mill sandwich shop, it’s great stuff. They pack a two punch combo here. You got affordable pricing followed with great value in these subs. It’s a great thing I don’t live close. I would pick up subs weekly. I’m somewhat of a submarine sandwich fan-atic. Now about their fries. they are of the shoestring variety. Nicely fry like in texture and while I really really wanted to dip them in something; ketchup, cheese, mayo, etc They are also good alone. Many reviews here and elsewhere scream to the high heavens about their BG Fries. That’s butter and garlic fries. Honestly, I can’t vouch. I mean, are the fries good alone, yeah. Are they better with butter? Definitely. But the garlic seasoning is outta control. Its got a high concentration of sodium(salt) and I found it unbearable the deeper into the bag I got, so I was forced to throw the rest in the trash.(If they were ever to do it «real», like oven roasted garlic mixed with butter, now that would be some sublime shit and it wouldn’t tack on unnecessary amounts of salt.(I’m at a point where sodium is a big deal and for anyone in that camp with me, it’s good to know info.) Cheers! Side note: Their parking lot was designed by a clown. Avoid door dings and building collisions by parking on the street.

By far my favorite sandwich in the area! I love the corned beef Sammie with everything on it! It’s been years since I’ve been in the area and it’s just as great as I remember. It’s open late nights as well as being the cheapest place around. A king size can fill up 2 people and it’s only 6 – 7 bucks! Plus the service is super fast as well.

Submarine Tender have the best subs ever. I don’t know what it is about them but they are very tasty and fulfilling! Not only are their subs good but my all time favorite is their Greek salads(A salad with gyro meat) Yesssssssssssss, I love love them! Submarine tender is also known for their garlic fries(w/cheese), trust me they’ll leave you licking your fingers and wanting more.

Vampires beware! The garlic butter fries are super yummy on cheat days. They give a great serving size, I always leave with left overs that taste great reheated or cold. I am a fan of the cheese sub, they don’t skimp on the cheese either. Make sure you ain’t in a hurry because sometimes the line is long but they are pretty speedy. The prices are decent as well, great place for a fast bite to eat.

This place reminded me of the late night food joints we would hit up in college. I came here after spending the night across the street at Old School Tavern(’nuff said). I was desperate for some grease, so we ordered mozz sticks, a large fry, and a double cheeseburger to share. All of this was under $ 10, and was definitely enough to share between two people. The burger tasted really good, but was a thin burger similar to what you get at Wendys or McDonalds. The fries were skinny, crispy, and the portion was huge. I think the large fry was $ 1.70 to boot! Deal of the day. The mozz sticks were hot, delicious and crispy. All the sandwiches being ordered by other patrons looked really good. I would love to come back for a sammy, especially when my focus is a little bit better ;) and I can truly enjoy it.

Big Portions with great price The BG fries is what brought me here. French Fries with BUTTER and Garlic why aren’t more people doing this? You get a SUPERLARGE amount of fries. You might actually want to order one and just share it. I love these more than the duck fat fries that a few local bars sell in forest park. You’re able to get a variety of items that aren’t just subs,(gyro, burgers, pizza puff, etc) Parking Sucks. World smallest parking lot… Do yourself a favor and park on the street. Parking is suppose to be one way but people are dumb and will pull up the wrong way Someone almost hit me walking in the door. I literally had to push the person in front of me and jump out the way otherwise I would have been like Sgt. Dan and had some new legs. The photo I added wasn’t even the same day. This is just a typical thing to see people having a hard time getting out of the park when it’s busy.

Got the«Depth Charge» King size of course. Great freakin sandwich at a reasonable price, only $ 6.25 after tax for the king size. Great flavor, this place is very similar to Mr Subs except they add mayo to their sandwiches. Definitely will be back!

These subs are the best around. Fresh ingredients piled by heavy-handed staff. The pastrami is delicious. You can choose a few sizes, and the subs range in price(about $ 5 – 7). I’ve ordered a few super subs to slice up for parties, and they’re always a big hit. I really like the buttery garlic fries. One heaping portion is enough for 2 to share. They’re open till 2(maybe later?!), they take credit cards and have a small, but quick-moving parking lot. A definite win in my book!

Real Greek food. Family run business that received«Best of Chicago Award». I can see why. Great menu, food just right. I know this is short but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Be sure to try the garlic fries.

BG fries = love. Add melted cheese= ecstasy. I recently moved to the area and basically eat at this place at least 3 meals each week. Lunch, dinner, 4th hour snack. I’m scared that I’ll start gaining weight because the food, although oh so good, is carby and I really need to lay off all the carbs. I’ve had the subs, most of the deep fried stuff, the Greek salad… they have many options for all picky eaters too. Love this place and thinking, hmm, maybe I need to visit them for dinner tonight. It’s been a rough day at the office. What better way to feel better than some butter garlic french fries and a fish sandwich. My mouth is now watering. Well, a chocolate shake will definitely help wash all the food down. Small is decent sized shake without all the regrets that the huge fries provide. If you haven’t tried this joint, you must. They’re delicious and the french bread is amazing for the sandwiches.
