I just came from their release party. I haven’t tried Radio Coteau before coming here, but I certainly have seen their wines at many top tier restaurants(i.e. Gary Danko), so I expected to be taken on a mystical journey of pinot and syrah land. Unfortunately, I was somewhat underwhelmed overall by their winery, personnel, and wines in general. Although several did stand out and were quite good and definitely stood out in quality. Namely the Savoy Pinot Noir(from Anderson Valley), the Dusty Lane Syrah(from Russian River), and the TImbervine Syrah(from Russian River). Otherwise, their other wines were meh and nothing really special kind. I recall the Neblina Pinot Noir to be somewhat uninspired and pretty generic Pinot Noir. Can’t really recall the rest of them. I mostly stocked up on the ones I really liked. The other thing that irked me quite a bit was the staff. I did NOT find the staff to be helpful ATALL. Firstly, they were definitely COUNTING how many DROPLETS of wine for us to taste… I mean, come one, I’m here to try some wine, pour me a decent glass so I can’t really feel the wine. I understand that they want to avoid getting drunk asses at their event. But I think to be at a place like Radio Coteau, most of your clientele are sophisticated wine enthusiast, so it’s unlikely you’ll get a college group of drunkards. The guy with the blue shirt, who I later learned is the owner, was the stingiest and fairly rude. He didn’t bother to entertain us, explain the wine, and just simply poured and shooed us away. Although SELECT wines were good, I don’t think I will return to any of their release parties, at most I’ll just order a VERY limited amount online and pick it up when I can. I think there are other better wineries with better staff and more interesting wines. In my opinion, take your business to Red Car or Siduri… 10x better staff and better wine

Call before you arrive. Make sure their open. Their staff was real helpful. They definitely believe in their product. The wines were delicious but a little young. They need to age a little. Their Pinot’s were excellent.

2006 Von Wiedlich Zinfandel Wow This wine Packs a Punch! I have been following a Zinfandel Trail with 2 more reviews to come. We tasted a total of 4 and this was my overall favorite. The Wine is full of spice, berries, mocha and liquid smoke. I long and warm finish with just enough of an Alcohol burn on your pallet. This I would consider a very good steak wine. Radio-Coteau is strictly mailing and Restaurant only. So if you want some people join the mailing list. The price is $ 35.00 per. I believe it is worth it. Radio-Coteau makes several other wine including a very prized Pinot Noir. Oh that is right I may never get some of that until I am very old. Enjoy Cheer!
