Old school feel… food is excellent but my review is limited to typical breakfast fare… service is great, place isn’t fancy and it’s on the small side but if you’re looking for a decent meal at a fair price I would recommend this spot to anyone.

Former long time customer and hadn’t been there for about a year. Went in at 6:30 am. Inside appeared run down and bathroom was worse. Sat at my table which was cleanish. Ordered a cup of coffee which could strip paint. Put two dollars on the table and walked out. Not overly impressed. The food used to be a 3 out of 5, but didn’t want to chance trying it again. If you want a 50’s style Mel’s diner with Flo in charge, then you found your spot.

Good place to eat. Foods always great. But if you’re not gonna accept credit/debit cards at least get an ATM from this century. Nothing but issues with that thing.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Food is always good, service is always great! The waitresses are always friendly, and the owner is there often. We have been going there for more than 15 years now and I think out of the 150+ meals I’ve had there, I don’t think I can say we’ve ever had a bad one! I can honestly say it is my favorite place to eat in Ocean County.

Arrived at 5:30 pm. We were greeted with a scowl from the hostess. Our waitress was terrible. Her attitude & customer service skills were totally unacceptable. When placing our orders she interrupted multiple times before we finished our sentences. It was obvious, by her attitude & actions, she did not like her job.

If you want a real New Jersey diner experience, go to Forked River Diner. My friends and I have nicknamed it «The Greasy Spoon» and it is the coolest place. It’s a retro trailer with a bunch of stools to choose from, or you can nab the coveted corner window booth, which is my personal favorite seat. The Forked River Diner has a wonderful typical snarky diner staff of waitresses who are helpful yet know how to handle the drunk bar crowd that frequent after the Forked River House closes on Friday and Saturday nights. Seeing the waitresses interact with the elderly regulars is adorable. They have great greasy cheese steaks, really good burgers and their fries are my favorite. They don’t accept credit cards but if you didn’t realize that ahead of time there is an absolutely ancient ATM in the back by the bathroom. When they were open 24⁄7 I used to do late night homework there and I still think it’s a great place to study since it’s always pretty quiet. A helpful tip: When you walk in, just pick a spot and sit. You’re a newb if you wait to be «seated». They definitely don’t do that there :)
