Chandler’s Barber Shop

I will never go back!!! This was my first time there and before i left I knew it was the mistake of the week. True it is a cool place with taxidermied animals and an old cabin feel to it. Where my issue lies is that i had a specific haircut that i wanted, one that i have had for many years. What i walked out with was a haircut that rivals the one i got in Army boot camp. NOT what i wanted to get 2 hours before a family photo shoot.
THe gentleman that cut my hair refused to listen to my instuctions, shook & trembled so bad that there is not a straight line on my head, forgot to change out the guard on the clippers between the sides of my head and the top which left me with a boot camp GI haircut, and then argued with me about how he did not cut the top too short.
If that wasn’t enough he messed up my 4 year olds hair too!!! I asked for short on the sides and long enough on the top to comb it over. What i got was a $ 14 edge clean up that you can get at sports clips for free.

Guys, tired of going to girly salons to get a haircut? Not very many barbers anymore. This place drips «guys only.» Men’s magazines (clean ones mind you), deer head on the walls, and two old blokes to cut, shave, and clean you up. Been here three times and I love it.

Took my 8 year old here for a quick haircut, totally old school place with «take it or leave it» barbers ;) Cute old school coke/​snack machines in back, old school barber’s chairs with the ash tray in the arm rest, and military/​police memorabilia everywhere. My only real issues were that a kid’s haircut was $ 14, and that they had the movie Platoon playing in the waiting area at full volume the entire time. Two kids in the place and the TV was spewing profanity that even I was uncomfortable with (and that is saying a lot, because I don’t exactly rein it in myself). We probably won’t go back, but mainly just because it was out of the way for us and it wasn’t so special I’d make a real effort to go again.

Chandler’s Barber Shop is a true old school barber shop that has been in Forney for a very long time. They have much more personable service than the chain haircut places. I’ve been going here most of my life. I enjoyAt the end of every haircut they use hot shaving cream and a straight razor to finish your neck and around the ears… a real treat. Ron and Dan always do a great job.
